First MW3 multiplayer trailer escapes CoD XP

This is it, chaps, chappettes and chippies – the first in-game footage of the shooter set to dominate multiplayer for the next year. Feast your eyes on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

This trailer was debuted at Call of Duty XP in Los Angeles, and we’ve been patiently awaiting an embargo to show it to you.

You’ve probably seen our other coverage of the event around the site, and there’s loads more to come. Steph’s going to be running around madly all day getting the scoop, so stay tuned.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, as everybody everywhere should know by now, is expected to be one of if not the biggest releases this year, and launches on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 8.

I cannot BELIEVE I'm posting in this thread, but I just found this so unbelievably funny

Those Kmart copies of Modern Warfare 3 that slipped off store shelves have been doing big business on eBay, but none bigger than this copy which sold -- four days before its retail release -- for $1,725. Though the buyer's identity is a mystery, considering their abundance of free time, love of the franchise and inability to judge the value of everyday objects, we have to assume it's the either a prankster with too much time on their hands, or the World's Richest Juggalo.

Speaking of record-setters, did you know that the final bidding price technically makes this copy of Modern Warfare 3 the most valuable thing ever sold at Kmart? It's true! Look it up!

http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/04/somebody-bid-1-725-for-modern-warfare-3-on-ebay/

The best thing about this? Look at the delivery estimate :tehe:

Yeah what a retard xD, the game is out on november8 anyways. This has to be a huge prank..lmao.

Well, it's a CoD player so it's typical for them to bid outrageous amounts of money just so that they could get their hands on a copy ASAP, it's their money so I won't complain. Besides it won't even be shipped until 3 - 4 days later :P.

I just completed the campaign. Meh its nothing special. I dont buy COD games for the campaign but always complete them first anyway. I think when i compare the campaign to black ops its really poor in comparison.
Just tried tha multiplayer for the first time tonight. HOW IVE MISSED IT :ohoho:
I really cant be arsed explaining it in detail but its just as fun as mw2 which for me was way superior to blops multiplayer wise.
Picking up a scar and spas12 again felt great :ryan: The heartbeat sensor had me a bit pissed off >___> but il get over that.....probadly..

First Modern Warfare 3 DLC dropping next month

Infinity Ward’s confirmed the first DLC for Modern Warfare 3 will arrive on Xbox 360 next month.
mw331.jpg

Speaking in a video for Call of Duty Elite, IW’s Robert Bowling said the content would arrive on January 22.
“The way we’re doing downloadable content this year is unlike we’ve never done before,” he said.
“Not only in how you can get it – in content drops or choose for the collection – but also the type of content you’re getting. We’re doing more than just maps. We’re going to do Spec Ops missions and a variety of things that players have never seen before.
He continued the upcoming content was “the great thing” in having three studios involved in the making of the content – Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer and Raven Software.
Activision’s confirmed to CVG more details on the content will come in early January.
The DLC will be exclusive to Xbox Live subs first, as part of a deal exclusivity deal announced at E3 in 2010, before coming to PS3 and PC a month later.

First Modern Warfare 3 DLC gets first teaser screen, info

Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling has unveiled the first screen of the upcoming first batch of DLC for Modern Warfare 3. The shot shows off a map called Park. That park looks awfully a lot like Central Park, doesn’t it? Probably because it most likely is. More info on the DLC is coming in the new year. 360 owners with Elite premium subs gets first dibs on the DLC due to an exclusivity deal announced at E3 2010.
Screen’s below the break. Can I stop yet?

It’s finally nice to see new content coming to Modern Warfare 3 but only Xbox 360 users with Call of Duty Elite Premium have benefited so far, but their PS3 counterparts will see the content soon. Once the PlayStation 3 does finally catch up there will be another MW3 DLC and map improvements for Microsoft’s console later this month.
The next map will be called Overwatch and will be available for download (XBL Elite Premium subscribers only) on February 21, just one day before the release of the PS Vita in the US and UK, which we have to say is perfect timing. You can see from the screenshots here that the setting is a skyscraper and it’s no surprise that a huge battle takes place, what makes things more interesting is the building is still under construction.
Update-on-MW3-DLC-and-map-improvements.jpg

If hunting the enemy down was not hard enough you have to keep your wits about you, as you could easily fall off the building due to a lack of safety barriers and the fact that the layout makes it easy to become a target yourself. While this may sound exciting for those new to the series we can’t help but think how similar this map is to High Rise from MW2.
Following this DLC Xbox 360 users with Elite Premium will also be getting another DLC in March and will consist of Black Box, which is a new multiplayer map and not one but two Special Ops missions named Black Ice and Negotiator.
The timetable over the other months is as follows: two maps in April, a map and mission in May, map, mission and mode in June, two maps in July, map, mission and mode again in August and finally a map and a mission in September. You can clearly see 2012 will be a busy year in terms of content for gamers with MW3, we just hope to learn more on what the details are regarding all this new content soon.
For those who are upset that Drop Zone was replaced by Infected then you will be pleased to know Activision is considering bringing the former back due to popular demand, while there’s no guarantee of Drop Zone making a comeback it’s nice to know Dan Amrich and his team are working at ways to give the fans what they want.

Piazza Map Details With Pictures, Videos, Perks Weapons and killstreak reward suggestions

Piazza Map Details With Pictures, Videos, Perks Weapons and killstreak reward suggestions

Content Drop 1 & 2 Release Dates:
Xbox 360 Elite Subscriber: 24th January 2012
PlayStation 3 Elite Subscriber: Sometime in Feburary
Xbox 360: Expected for a March release (As part of a Full Map Pack DLC)
PlayStation 3: Likely not until April (As part of a Full Map Pack DLC)
PC: Likely not until April (As part of a Full Map Pack DLC)

The first map is called “Piazza” and is set on the coast of Italy. Described as a “very vertical, chaiotic, route map” and designed for those who love to run around and gun people down at close quarters. A great map for tactical gameplay types in which you have to be fast and ready for anything. Being a very vertical map makes a change from what you usually see which is generally pretty flat so it’ll make for some interesting and new combat experiences. Piazza is the idyllic Italian getaway that is anything but, where tight corners and branching pathways pose great risk at every turn. Close-range combat dominates in Piazza, where attacks from behind, above and below are an ever-constant threat.

Piazza is a different type of map in every way from Liberation. It is small and confined, with a few areas that can quickly turn into choke points. People that love their shotguns will be free to terrorize and annoy the crap out of opponents with free reign. Sniper rifles will be fairly useless in the center of the map, but as Adam noted, a prepared sniper can hold down the sides of the maps. SMGs will be right at home, and will likely be the weapon of choice for most. I personally love the fast paced nature of Piazza, but when people are spread out all over the map, spawning can suck (more so than usual). I may or may not have considered throwing a controller at least once.
The various map types all work fairly well here. Domination can be fun, but there are balance issues. Holding onto a flag can be easy, especially with claymores and the like, but attacking can make you angry to the point that you want to punch something cute. There are multiple pathways all throughout the map, so there are ways though. Team Deathmatch and Kill Confirmed are both a good fit for this map, and Search and Destroy can offer some interesting possibilities.
Survival can either lead to an epic stand, or a frustrating one. You can easily set up defenses in areas that can hold off endless waves of enemies, but if a few make it by, you will find yourself trapped. Moving around might be the best strategy, but it is also a risky one. Still, it makes for a different experience than most survival maps.

Piazza is a small-ish map overall, but there are so many levels to it that it ends up feeling much larger than it actually is. Much like Liberation, there’s a lot of up-and-down movement; the difference here is that you have many more overlooks to work with. Snipers will want to swap their standard scope out for an ACOG, but a crack shot can do a lot of damage from a distance here.
Really though, shotguns and sub machine guns are your best bet for Piazza. The map is filled with sharp corners and steep stairwells, to the point that you’ll need to constantly be on your toes since you can never really be sure of when an enemy will suddenly come into view. Close-range fighters can confidently move around in the middle parts of the maps, while snipers and other long-range fighters will do best sticking to the fringes, preferably with a silencer.

The key with Piazza is to always be mindful of what’s above you and below you. Death can easily come from any angle. While it’s definitely important to keep your eyes on the path ahead, ignoring the raised balconies and walkways as you proceed will result in certain death sooner or later. The action moves quickly and intensely on Piazza, though I don’t see this one supplanting Dome as MW3‘s Nuketown (the tiny Black Ops map). It’s just too unpredictable. This one, moreso even than Liberation, is definitely going to live on as a “love it or hate it” type of environment.

Search and Destory Tips For Piazza
This seaside Italian getaway is anything but idyllic, as tight corners and branching pathways pose great risk at every turn. Close-range combat dominates, and the team that best utilizes flanking routes will most often come out on top. Attacks from behind, above and below are an ever-constant threat. Keep up your awareness and don’t get taken by surprise. A very close quarters, no hanging around in your spawn on this map. The enemy can be in your spawn within just a few seconds. There are so many routes for you to take to get to where ever you need to go, it\’ll take quite a lot of games to learn to remember each alleyway. The A bomb site is fairly hard to defend, it\’s very open and to defend it you have to be in that area (ie no outside sightlines to even cover near it). This map is all about the strategy you use. Because the map is so small and tight you will not always have time to reload so having slight of hand and or extended magazines would help stop you from getting killed while reloading. Becaureful of always running as this might make you run into battle with the other player having the advantage. It is always wiser to run closer to the wall and stop running before you turn corners. That way your sights are ready and waiting for anyone that could be in front of you. This is a tactical map which means you got to play it smart. Close range battles rule this map. Weapon silencer reduce the range but keep the damage the same, on a map like this where flanking and coming up behind you is really common a silencer would keep you off radar and make your path safer from flanking. This is a great map for silencers because the limits it adds to the range will not be a issue on this map and it will provide extra privacy keeping you alive. Another good attachment would be RAPID fire for your SMG. Lots of times on this map you are going to be face to face and putting as much damage as fast as possbile will win battles on this map. Lots of times you will be faced head to head with more then one player so controlling your rate of fire and targeting will matter a lot. The down side to rapid fire is the ammo will be out a lot faster, which makes you reload a lot more and puts you at risk. This is why we suggest you use extended magazines or slight of hand if you are using rapid fire. Claymores and bouncing betty’s can really help stop people from coming behind you and flanking you. It is a good idea to place a land mind on a area to your back or a towards a rout you are not taking but they could. You should try lots of combos of SMG’s and shutguns. Both perk combos and gun combos. If you are getting killed from behind again and again we also suggest you try using a riot shield as your secondary weapon. This will stop and reduce the damage taken from behind. Shields do work in this map best to run in front of teammates and let the players fear your shield and not know what to do while your teammates shoot and kill them.

[h=1]Free older MW3 maps begins with Terminal[/h]June 25, 2012 By Marlon Votta 1 Comment

Pleasing news for fans Modern Warfare 3 is that free older maps are becoming available beginning with Terminal, and this will go some way to ease the issue that some gamers have had with having to pay for older maps when they are actually released as new content. This is one of the most controversial out of the bunch, as this involves running around shooting other players within the airport.

Free-older-MW3-maps-begins-with-Terminal.jpg

Causing much discussion among fans this map will be coming to Modern Warfare 3 in the future according to Mark Rubin of Infinity Ward and he reiterates that this will be free of charge. Reporting on the leaked gameplay of the Terminal map Stick Skills show a YouTube video seen on their site suggesting that readers would be wise to check it out soon rather than later, as there is a chance this could be pulled.

In relation to this, last week we wrote about MW3 June DLC live from Tuesday, although in this we did mention that there would be no classic maps, and that a mixed reaction will be expected from fans wanting some good old maps from previous Call of Duty titles. News of free maps is a welcome sign that Infinity Ward are listening to the fans and we are interested in your thoughts on this. What do you think about Terminal coming to the game?

I haven't played mW3 in awhile. I would completly crush people on all of the previous games. Now with MW3 I can barely hit 10 kills per round.
