[Birthweek 2016] Treasure Hunt! - Game Thread

yeah that eye glass one is giving me trouble. Cause I saw it for the treehouse one, the other two look like an equal sign and a house. So something lives here, a bird lives here?

You're thinking along the right lines in some ways.
I guess you have to approach this from a slightly different angle. Think like a moogle. What do moogles see around them? What landscapes are there on the island, and might they represent them as symbols? What body parts do moogles have, and do the body parts represent deeper meanings or actions than simply being parts of the body?

I guess that’s the extent of the clues I can give in that way.

eye wing nest and pompom is home then, for the top and bottom sign respectively.

eye wing nest and pompom is home then, for the top and bottom sign respectively.

Sadly not. The second symbol on the Big Pom Pom in the Sky is not a wing or a nest.

Your interpretation of the symbols on the sign are along the right sort of lines, but that's not what they say. The first symbol is a pom pom, but it isn't always used to denote 'pom pom'. What else could a moogle choose to represent by using that symbol?
The second symbol does not mean 'is' and the third symbol does not mean 'home', but you are thinking in the right way for that symbol. What else does it look like?

I'll give it a bit longer, but I'll be closing the competition in the next day or two (absolute deadline!). If nobody solves Mooglish in this game I might re-use it in a later event.

RESULTS REVEAL

The brave chocobos have returned from their expedition to the mysterious island. Much was learned, but many mysteries may never be discovered!

Here is the map with all treasure locations revealed (the yellow dots):

From the evidence gathered it seems that Greek colonists had arrived at the island and fought with the moogle natives. Over many years they fought and although it is not clear what the precise outcome was it seems that the Greek colony was wiped out and partially flooded.

We’ve only got a small insight into this fascinating story, but the chocobos have kindly agreed to set up ‘FFF Museum: Wonders of Chocobo Island’.

Each chocobo shall showcase his or her discoveries to the world, and through this it shall also be easy for us to determine the winner here for Birthweek (that is, after all, what this is all about when we stop daydreaming!).

Here are the exhibits (in order of last to first place):

Congrats all!

I knew that there was an invisible island in the corner... it had to be Z'1 :mokken:

One of the things I'm sad that you guys missed out on is the underwater tea party. :sad2:

Also... If any of you had picked U,2 you would have found Bono.

You did find some good stuff though! :argor:
