I don't want to know too much about XIII, but it's hard as I end up watching too many videos and will know too much about the game before it's released in the UK.

However I do want to know if the Biggs & Wedge tradition has continued. So does anyone know if they star in XIII?

I don't think they were in IX so I don't think they have to be in every Final Fantasy (indeed they aren't in the early ones) like Cid. So just to satisfy my curiousity basically!
 
As far as I know, I have heard nothing about any Biggs or Wedge in FFXIII. Come to think of it, I haven't even heard if there are to be any Moogles! :gonk:

But I don't see why they won't be in it. They'll probably serve as some kind of minor, yet comic relief role in it somewhere. I know FFXII had Biggs and Wedge, the guards at Nalbina with their names edited a bit, as minor characters.
 
Oh yeah, I dont recall them being in 12. Were they even in 10? I think they may not cause it was a Star Wars joke amongst the Square Soft team, maybe Square Enix havent caught the joke or cant be bothered with that sort of thing.

Its a sham cause Biggs and Wedge are comical.
 
Biggs and Wedge were the gaurds at Luca Stadium in X, and were awesome blitzball players!

And in XII it was something like Gibbs and something.... dewge maybe? Deweg? I forget now. But it's cheeky little Star Wars reference and I like it! They were in VI and VII too.
 
They were also guards you encounter on your first mission in VIII. You have to fight them on couple of occasions.

Glad to hear they were in X, havent played it in years.

I don't remember them in VII but I do remember them clearly in VIII. Lol. They have a bigger role in VIII than in any other FF game if I remember correctly. =p.

As far as them being in XIII, I am not sure. They might make a cameo appearance in some place in the game but I've yet to hear anything.

They were members of AVALANCHE and thus associated with the protagonist(s). They were active members up until their respective deaths. Biggs was the skinny one with the headband not named Jessie, and Wedge was the round one who seemed to have self-esteem issues.

Which one was it that they played the Imperial Guards in that challenged the empire? Was that IV or VI?

It'd be a shame if they removed them. I've always enjoyed that Star Wars reference.
 
Now that I think about it, I haven't heard a word about either of them. It would be nice if they appeared in FFXIII. They could probably fit in as a couple of dorky PSICOM soldiers or something like that.
 
There will almost certainly be a Biggs and a Wedge, just as it is also highly likely that there will be a Cid.
 
As others have said i'm sure they will be squeezed in there somewhere but just as minor charaters not too major characters. I remember them from a few FFs however, I don't think they were in every one. The Biggs & Wedge that is most recent to me is in VIII just because i've played that not too long ago. I mean it's good to have new characters but I wouldnt mind seeing them =)

Ah! That is right. They were in the beginning of the game. I totally forgot. Lol. It's been awhile since I've played VII, and they died anyway. =p.
 
Yeah, but their role in that game while they were alive was arguably bigger than in any other thus far. I think the only reason why they seemed more important to VIII was because they lived throughout it.
 
I just finished IX about two months ago. I don't think they were in that game. Aside from that, I believe they've been in every game since VI

You know, it's odd to me that they weren't in that, since IX was such a tribute game. You'd think they'd include that long-standing reference. I mean, Gilgamesh was in it (and had a pretty notable role).

Any confirmation on their inclusion yet?

I always thought that too.

No luck on hunting down any info regarding whether or not they are in the game yet but I'm betting that there's a good chance they will be since they've been in most, if not all (?) of the Kitase games.
 
I would have thought that someone would have known by now. Alas!

Perhaps you encounter them on a side quest? If they are in, no doubt they'll have a small role, but I hope they are. I like the Star Wars tribute references.
 
Well, since there is a Cid, I find it likely that there will be a Biggs and a Wedge. Though, given the track record on how Kitase's FF games (FFVI, FFVII, FFVIII, FFX) all include Biggs and Wedge, and seeing that FFXIII is a Kitase game, it's likely that Biggs & Wedge will show up again.

It wouldn't really matter to me if a Biggs and a Wedge were included, seeing as how FFXIII is a start to evolving Final Fantasy. Chocobos are something that will most likely always be there, same with Cid, but Biggs and Wedge will probably have declining appearances.
 
There is a Cid. As far as moogles, they only have a "cameo." It's probably the background at the moogle shop.

Yeah, it would be a shame to stop the SW joke now as its been going for so long with the FF series. They may just be smaller roles this time, unlike 8.
