I know it's a random question but at least it's kind of original for these best/worst topics. Which FF game do you think had the best overworld to traverse? It doesn't really matter how you traverse it (linear or freeroam) or what was on it... but which continent structure did you like the best.
I personally liked Final Fantasy IX's. I thought it was exactly the right combination of land to water. It was basically a four arc landmasses that formed a general circle shape with water and a few islands in the center. Each land mass was completely unique from the others in appearance and atmosphere and it's great development really helped make the chocobo hunting minigame all the more enjoyable.

The variety of areas and the different atmosphere and story in every town/city/continent. Really liked it. Still I think XI has a beautiful and cool one too. It's somehow so Final Fantasy like world, tho FF IX is much better at it as well FF VII is.
