So what is Bayonetta? It's this game by DMC1's Creator and Former Employees of the now closed down Clover Studio. Godhand and Okami fans rejoice, as the studio is still alive and kicking, now under Sega's wing.

The above links I've posted feature a lot of info on the game, but basically, Bayonetta is an action game about a witch named... you guessed it Bayonetta XD

Bayonetta's a witch who can weild 4 guns (two on her feet and two in her hands o_O). She also has a katana, and her hair is ALSO used as a weapon.

To top it all off, it's got all sorts of Rock referrences, and it's being made by the dude who actually CREATED the DMC franchise. So yeah... I'm very very excited about this game.

(I mean, RPGs are OMG awesome, but unless we talk about FF 13 or FF versus 13, there's nothing remotely interesting coming out way for a while XD)

Oh and it's for x360 and PS3. Comments? :D

She summons torture devices. lololol

The game sounds pretty cool, but I can't put much faith in it until I see some in-game footage. Drawing comparisons to DMC definitely doesn't hurt.

Has anyone else played the demo from PSN yet?

It came out on thursday and I played it today.. It's epic! Really amazing fights and there appear to be countless combinations... And some of the moves you can do to finish off the larger enemies are awesome...

Plus, the character gets naked every time she does a powerful attack... Her hair actually forms her clothes, and she extends her hair for the most powerful attacks and thus goes naked.

The demo is awesome i can't wait for the game to come out in January.

I was going to pre-order it but FF13's coming out not too long after and i don't have enough for both. I still can't believe Capcom took away DMC from Kamiya, i just hope once Bayonetta becomes successful Sega doesn't pull that and ruin it like Capcom ruined DMC.

Although the game looks pretty damned fun, every time I see it, I can't help but think of Fan Service: THE GAME! Bah, who cares, the concept may be a little questionable, but it's workable and fun as shit. Which in all reality is all that matters in a hack and slash game to me.

I can't wait for it to come out. I'm definitely going to buy.

Ive tried to download the demo, but it takes FOREVER, so I gave up. I may get it as I seen the trailer at the start of the year and it screams awesome campness lol. Its so cheesy, campish and shexy all in one lol. I do see the DMC in it, character and battle style.

I'm absolutely torn between pre-order offers for this: Play.com's version has a wonderful artbook and soundtrack CD, but the GAME version has a replica of one of her guns...rrrgh...

This game is the game I'll be kicking off the New Year with, along with Darksiders: Wrath of War. Its been a while since I played a decent beat-the-hell-out-of-everything game...

I played the demo today and boy it really is awesome! I AM so getting it. Also we get to play as a sexeh chick that has some awesome ass power! Plus she gets naked like Argie said! Awesome game is awesome.

Well I'll add your GT, mine is Who are you 2 so that you know when I've invited you, and if I'm on MW2 then I'll be up for a game pretty much any time, I've finished the campaign and don't do too well in ranked matches :x

/double post. I got Bayonetta today and it it the sexiest game ever xD. She is a badass Witch and she plays sexual at the same time xD. She has much more to her in the game then demo. The swearing fuck and all that shit isn't working for me though it is funny. Bayonetta loses her clothes completely in the beginning and then her witch robe appears xD. She is one hell of a bitch xD. Lmao when you enter gates of hell. Rodin says "Are you here for the weapons or the pleasure" xD. So yeah spectacular game its so FUN. Buy it play it fap to it I don't care xD. TRULY EPIC. :awesome:

I'm still waiting on my copy but with this snow england seems to stop functioning. they say it is a bit bugy on the PS3 i.e. 6+sec to load the pause menu (but who says i will be pausing the game). I'm most looking forward to using more weapons even tough the demo few you could use.

I'm getting it this weekend hopefully, i can't wait. The fact that it has plenty of goodies in it to unlock pleases me. Two unlockable characters and more weapons had me sold from the beginning when i found out about it. Also since it's made by Kamiya well it has to be good lol. DMC had me playing for hours even after i had gotten everything in the game. Well 1 and 3 anyway, i couldn't stand 2 or 4.

I've heard great things about this game actually. I really want to check it out, but I know I'll be sparse on cash for the next few weeks.

Please let me know how the game is so I can put it on my "next" game list. Right now I'll just have to preoccupy myself with MW2 and Dragon Age till then.

Shu the ame is so funny sexual and more all at the same time xD Bayonetta is a badass character and you will see how much she hates those god damn angels xD. Its so hilarious but lots of fanservice xD. Badass weapons uns on your legs in your hands crazy backflips Katanas, claws, shotgunsand renade launchers so far. Im on chapter 10 and I am loving the game! 5 more chapters but I will try to 1000G this xD ET IUT

Well I think this game was geared toward the pervier fellas although aside from that I'll throw down a few main points.

1) Bayonetta is always over the top sexual, combat, attitude and finishing moves.

2) The story is a tad bit hard to follow at first, but I assume it's about two witches thus far. Also the main character is a dark person, not necessarily light, but she has a good heart it seems. She has to fend against angels taking her back to hell for most of the game so be prepared to do a lot of fighting.

3) There are alot of combo schemes and quite a bit of different weapons to use throughout the game.

So far I'm on chapter VII and I think I'm close to beating it the first time round through, but I will say I think this game has a pretty high replayability. I just like trying my hand at the new combos as well as trying to go without getting hit. Each time you enter a combat mode and exit a combat mode you get a medal of some kind depending on how fast you killed the enemies, how much damage you took and how many combos performed in the amount of time.

Eventually you get finishing moves and such.. but I think I'll end it here so you can give it a gander.

I don't think women will like this, unless they don't mind the sexual nature of the character. So Cheers!

This game is really good, this is how devil may cry 4 should have been. Its intense, its been quite a long while that game like this has had me playing to get better at. The last game that had me going this long was devil may cry 3. This blows its extras out of the water though, 10 weapons (i think), 2 playable characters instead of one, and a secret boss to boot.

I'm really glad i got this hopefully the 2nd game will be just as good if not better. Kamiya said they aren't working on one but he has thought about it, either that or a spin off.

Bayonetta

Has anyone ever played Bayonetta? It gets mixed reactions from most serious gamers, but I had a blast with it. If you don't know what it is, it's an action game by Platinum Games and Sega that came out January 5, 2010. It stars a female protagonist named Bayonetta who resembles Sarah Palin and likes beating the crap out of angels... It's very similar to Devil May Cry, and many people don't like it because it feels like a ripoff. But honestly, I thought it was amazing. It was probably Devil May Cry + God of War. It won Best Original IP and Best Boss Fights from GameSpot this year.

Here's the trailer:

So, um, Bayonetta. I really like this game, and it's one of the few games I tried playing and observing at the same time (following the Extra Credits episode on how to play games like a Game Designer). While doing that I came upon a peculiar realisation by running some comparisons with Devil May Cry 4.

Both games have a giant statue for a boss: the Creator in Bayonetta and the Savior in DMC4.
Both games also have fights with all the previous bosses near the end, although that can be said to be a staple for the DMC franchise, or simply one of the ideas Hideki Kamiya borrows from the games that he grew up with.
Then we have the overarching storyline, where in both games the heroes have to stop an evil organisation from remaking the world as they see fit; the only difference being that one organisation is a religious cult worshipping Sparda that uses demons and the other is a multimillion-dollar corporation built by a near-immortal sage that uses angels.

The similarities end there, since Kamiya wasn't working for long on DMC4 before Clover Studios was shut down. However, from all the small similarities, I came to ask myself a very peculiar question: is Bayonetta, at the very core of the game, under its comprehensive mythology and shameless fanservice, the Devil May Cry 4 that Kamiya intended to make?

Think about it. :P
