Which movie/movies influenced your views on what our future will look and be like?

I personally chose Star Wars because...just because it reminds me more of our world today, just a bit more than Star Trek.

P.S.
'Grats pollsters, we've pushed the page count on the voting booth to 5, whereas it was like, what? 2 yesterday?:D (Rydia, Mitsuki, Wullfe, hope you don't mind me butting in to your space...)

hmm dunno bout near future but it would be cool to think my great great great great great grankids are living in a star wars setting

I don't even know the difference between Star Trek and Star Wars since I've never seen any of them...at all. All I know is that they have something to do with spaceships, space, and glowing long toy-swords. =/ I'm not into sci-fi stuff.

I was quite fond of Farscape. Though, only for the mini-film they made as the last installment. That was effing awesome.

Ultimately, however, my vote goes for Star Wars. Even if I'm only referring to the Clone Wars mini-series, that owned faces. LOTS of faces.

The thought of anyone's vision of the future being influenced by Futurama disturbs me....

For me, I s'ppose it's Star Wars. Not a realistic vision perhaps, but the sense of adventure to be got from there being a whole galaxy out there is something that's stuck in my mind.

Lol :P

I was running out of options though...
But well like I said, I knew I forgot something.

Imagine a Futurama-like world, eh?
I'd be stuck laughing, personally. Unless all that junk that happens to Fry happens to me instead.:|

Star wars :) it really is a great movie saga - it has everything, The force, lightsabers and Yoda ^_^

and it gives a realistic view of what technology will be like in 10000 years time - we probably will have hovercraft and lighsabers

Don't forget the pod racers,
those things are so awesome!!

:lol:And the laser guns, and the Jedi, and the....
*raves*

I thinking more along the lines of Battlestar Galatica (the newer series on the Sci-Fi channel, I love this show!). This is how I kinda see mankind in the future. Not battling cybernetic machines hell bent on human extinction, but technology advancing enough to allow the exploration space and no matter much the technology advances, mankind will still be consumed with his/her natural flaws.

Futurama: Lol... Nah.

Star Trek: Nah.. Way to perfect of a future, no poverty, disease, greed or starvation. Everyone's goal in life is to better themselves no matter who you are. Would be nice, but I don't see it happening. At least not for a very, very long time.

Star Wars: Now this is great entertainment and one of the biggest reasons I'm a home theater buff, but it's way to far fetched in my opinion.

I chose "other", and for other I chose "none of the above". It's just a hype that I never got into and never will. It doesn't appeal to me as most Sci-Fi stuff doesn't anyway, so I simply find it boring and try to ignore any Sci-Fi talk about movies like these.

The Twighlight Zone on the otherhand...THAT I LOVE!

I like Sci-Fi to a certain extent, but I've never cared all that much about Star Wars or Star Trek :/

I'd rather have the future be like Futurama honestly xDD Or, when I'm feeling a bit morbid, The Matrix %D We could all be in tubes in dreamland together! lololz
