Will XIII include it? It wasn't in the demo, but I can't imagine a Final Fantasy without it! Thoughts?

They probably will do, it's most likely one of those things they'll add once they've completely finished the battle system development. I have mixed views on it, it's traditional and nice towards the beginning of FF games but towards the middle/end when you get a lot of easy battles in quick succession it becomes irritating. I'd be happy enough if they replaced the fanfare with the battle results seen at the end of the battles in the demo.

I agree that it can becoming annoying after you hear it over and over. Maybe they could add it just after boss battles or something.

Now vwe are talking about hte finishing poses and stuff at the end of victorious battle?
cuase if they gort rid of this then whats next bahamut? or not havin an airship??

or not havin an airship??

You could argue that that has already happened in a way. We haven't been given the opportunity to pilot an airship since FFIX.

Anyway... I'd like them to put it in. It can get annoying when you have lots of battles while strolling through a dungeon map, but I still feel it is one of the main traditional aspects of FF. Without it one of its defining elements will be gone, and it'll feel less like an FF and will gradually become a normal RPG.

It's gradually going down that route already though, so I guess it is only a matter of time before they cut out the victory fanfare completely. It was mostly absent in XII, aside from a few random battles at key times, and I felt that this (along with other changes such as no airship, no world map, different battle system etc) made the game appear less FF to me than the ones before it.

Changes between each game can be good, but I think they need to have a big meeting discussing what the defining elements of FF are. If they get rid of too many of the elements that hold the series together, the FF series will essentially merge and join in with the rest of the RPG world. Beforehand I had felt that there was something distinct with the FF universe.

putting it in for boss battles will be plenty. it's rewarding to see the fanfare and posing after killing a giant demon dragon, it's not so rewarding to see it 500x killing different breeds of giant flies.

The fanfare will return i hope it plays after every battle i hated that it only played after random boss battles, i love the fanfare no matter which version or how many times i hear it its just so final fantasy to me and even though it wasnt played enough i thought 12s was the best so far maybe theyll give 13s a rock feel thatd be nice

I would love to see a battle fanfare after every battle though. It has sort of become characteristic of the Final Fantasy battles. So what if it gets boring? I thought the traditional fanfare that have recurred in the last few series was already boring in a sense, but it tells me that it is Final Fantasy that I'm playing- so I don't really mind.

The battle fanfare will inevitably be in the game just like how we will inevitably hear other classic Final Fantasy melodies. It may feature during the battle results screen or just after boss battles.

I didn't like the fanfare in Final Fantasy XII. That version I deem to be the worst. I can't explain why, I just despise it. Hopefully FFXIII's will be an improvement. I love Final Fantasy VI's fanfare jingle- in fact I love also the Decisive Battle theme. There's little music I don't like in VI.

Oh, it'll definatly return! It never doesn't.... not return? (You know what I mean...) Why would they stop on ff13? It's just one of those traditions that never dies. (I hope.)

I didn't mind them in old Final Fantasy's, the ones with random encounters (FFX-downwards), but in FFXII it was just annoying I thought, I didn't like the music they had for FFXII and it lasted way too long, I could have probably got up and got some food and came back and it would still be playing.

I wouldn't mind if they had it in FFXIII but as long as the music was good, the poses were good, and it didn't last forever!
