Basch was defintely one my favorite characters in the entire game loved how he always help his honor no matter what happened to him. What does eveyroen else think of Basch? And is it just me or did they do a real good job or making Basch look like he had been captive and tortured by Gabranth for however long a period of time they said he was?

Well he is my favourite caracter in the whole game thet is why i put him as my avatar.

I always took basch to be in my team, mainly i picked him due to him being stronger than most characters, i like characters with a lot of strength.
I also liked his story aswell, the whole of ivalice thinks hes a murderer so i wanted to prove his innocense. But really i picked him for his strength.

I dislike Basch. His story was a boring cliche, an evil twin:ffs:
He had no personality, all he did was follow Ashe blindly, he never questioned her or anything. The game tried to stop developing his character after it was revealed that :gasp: he didn't kill Recks.

I liked Basch a lot. He was a great character to use in battle for me as i always had him as my main physical damage rather than Vaan. Plus on the storyline side of things, i liked the dynamic between him and Gabranth as well as how no matter what he was portrayed as in the public eye, he just got on with things and did what he thought was best.

It's just a shame that SE backed out of their original decision to make him the main character and instead opted to go with Vaan instead...

Basch was a dick in FFXII. I hated the bastard. Having to run around a floating city and say that I was him sucked. The battle against Gabranth on the Bahamut goes differently whether you have Basch in or out of your party when you fight against him.

Going into the game I thought he was going to be my favorite character when all was said and done. However, the game really doesn't focus on him much aside from the fact he was framed.

When I learned more about Balthier's past and who he was, I immediately found myself picking Balthier over Basch.
Also, I figured Basch's true story of the betrayal would come clean as I figured the murderer of the King would not be accepted by the other main characters in the long-run.

I didn't like him. In fact, I didn't really pay attention to him at all, partially because of my own personal tastes, and because aside from his having been framed, he really has no interesting points whatsoever. Blindly loyal. Whoopdee Doo.

Also, I think I've said this before, but his stupid half-blouse thing is really stupid.

Basch doesn't follow blindly; he tries persuading her against vengeance at Ozmone and Giruvegan. He's unsure what will be her decision, but he does realize following her will probably be the only way to restore Dalmasca. He didn't get an awesome story -like the rest of the cast, so I don't really see how that's a bad thing against him- but I take it because he's probably a mature person by the time he's 36.
That's probably why they switched him with Vaan. Because people whined 'Nooo old guys have no story.'

And yeah Adremmalech, I totally understood how Basch was a dick because he was a bastard because- nevermind. You don't have a reason after all.

PS: I like Basch. His patience is uncommon.

I kept him in my party throughout the entire game because I found him to be quite effective as a fighter. I liked his story too, while it was cliché and comparable to a daytime soap opera with his evil twin brother and all. I still found his story quite enjoyable.

One thing which did bother me though, was that after it was revealed that he was framed, he essentially disappeared from the plot. Sometimes I forget he was even in the game despite having him in my party for the entire game. So I found that fairly disappointing.
