Anyone more excited about Versus XIII?

If this thread is already made, my sincerest apologies. I'm tired and can't be bothered to read trough ALL THOSE OTHER threads :gonk: So yeah, do your mod magic or whatever...


Anyway, I looked at FF XIII and thought "Oh, that's pretty cool, but I won't be getting a PS3 for that, I'd rather go to my friend's house."
Yeah, female version of Cloud looks hot and all the graphics etc. But for some reason I couldn't be arsed looking up about what the whole story is about.

Then I saw Versus XIII and said "... Hell yeah."
I love the darkness, the violance, the mystery and Noctis. I've seen some cut scenes in Japanese but I won't give away any spoilers.
I'm also wondering what the two FF's have in common, but hey, everyone wants to know. There's a separate thread for that.

Anyway, the two FF's, which do you think is more exciting/interesting than the other? Although asking that question would be kinda dumb, since most of you have already aquiered FF XIII. If that's the case, what were your thoughts before the game came out?
 
Well befor I got FFXIII I thought it looked interesting and the battle system,from game shows ,reminded me a bit of the dressphere system how they change and stuff...But it is in no way similar I enjoyed the dresspheres!
Actually I am looking forward to agaito more than versus for some reason,from playing FFXIII itself, Im kinda scared versus will be similar to it as in game play style at least agaito is to be a more fighting like game,from what I hear, so...im placing my bets on that.
Versus does look good....but im still scared...I did orriginaly rather play that than XIII but...
 
I cant really say which is more interesting as Verus XIII isn not even out yet :gasp: Also the thread title Anyone more excited should be Do you like Versus XIII better than FF XIII because FF XIII is already out. But its too early to tell. They do not look thta similiar but Versus will have the falcie from XIII and all that. Lets just see >_>

The poster wanted to know your IMPRESIONS of the games..like as in befor you bought XIII and for what you think of Versus from like media and such even though most of us may have the game,and wich one seemes to "stoke" you more...and wich one made you want it more based on what yuou saw on media ect...
From what we thought befor it came out and we bought it and so forth...

Well before FFXIII came out my main thoughts on it would be that I would probably not like it as much as I did previous games. I wasn't a fan of the gameplay of FF12, and several of the characters didn't do much for me, and I didn't like Crisis Core or a lot of the FF7 spin-offs much either. I'd assumed that FFXIII would be following the same path (after getting the game I was very surprised and I'm enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would). I was however very excited about the idea of a baby chocobo living inside of Sazh's afro (which after getting the game I still find AWESOME). I didn't really think much else about FF13, and I didn't read much into it.

FF Versus XIII I hadn't read much into either, but I'd seen some of the trailers and some of the news about the game posted on this forum. My impressions were that some parts of it look quite interesting. It is a lot darker, and Noctis (with his magic swords and such) might be quite impressive at least in a cinematic way.

I respect what they are going for with the game, a modern setting. I'm really not sure if I like the back-up characters though... The four (more or less) other guys that accompany Noctis in the trailers look too normal and more like a character from a GTA than a Final Fantasy. I know, that is unfair as it is what they are trying to go for, but I just personally prefer a bit more fantasy than realism.

I am however very interested in the news that they are going to have some sort of a world map. That's FANTASTIC news to me as I miss the world map (and airship) concept which we haven't seen since FFIX. I was begining to think that we'd lose that feature entirely in the future as more and more fans are getting into the newer games and the films rather than the older ones, and therefore not everyone will have had the experience of the world map.

I think for me I wasn't more or less excited with one than the other. There were things which interested me in both, and things that made me think "gah I hope it isn't going to be quite like that".
 
FF XIII Versus will be my last foray into a FF game if its turns out tobe shit coz tha will be 3 in a row that have hit the bottom. But thats just the consequence of it being crap which l doubt it twill be IMO.

This nothing against lightning but just the look of Noctis is better hes dark and brooding aloof and taciturn.....like me in my younger days.....anyway.....he's got a posse a hot girlfriend and a great Sword.

Decision made folks ,Versus is and will be better than XIII.

Before XIII was released I was leaning more towards XIII than Versus. Judging from the trailers alone I preferred the look of XIII, Versus seems a bit too dark and I'm not crazy about the modernistic look of the technology and environments. I am quite interested to learn more about the gameplay and story though.

At the moment though I'm not as hyped up about Versus as I was about XIII before it was released. Not that I doubt that Versus will be any good, I'm just not that excited about it yet, maybe this will change as the release date gets closer.
 
I thought the exact same thing, I got my hopes up for ff13 it looked great but i played it and it wasn't all what it was cracked up to be.
When i saw the trailers for versus it just gave me that spark all the past games have given me.
 
I'm not interested to be completely honest with you and I'm not gonna get my hopes up that it's going to be good. Final Fantasy XIII I found to be a disappointment, it only had two characters I really like and even though the graphics were great and the game play wasn't all that bad the story failed. It lost more points because it seems to follow the route of Metal Gear Solid and Xenosaga where the scenes are longer than the game play and that only works when the story is good.

Square haven't been able to wow me since Final Fantasy X. X-2 was only good when I didn't take it seriously (and I hate when I have to do that to enjoy something). Final Fantasy XI and XIV I don't care for because I'm not into MMORPGs. XII had a good beginning then became uninteresting after that. If this game turns out being good I'll be more surprised than if it ends up being terrible. Square have given me low expectations due to past experiences.
 
I'm going to go ahead and get my hopes up, because I don't see much reason not to. Just so long as I remain cautiously optimistic.

That said, I'm ready for this style of game. I don't care if it has cars or whatever. I just hope that it's at least as good as XIII.
 
I don't like to know that much about a game before it come's out cause I hate seeing something about a game in a trailer and then I expect a lot of thing's the game won't have. I expected way to much from Final Fantasy XIII from the trailer's and I have only seen one trailer for Versus which is great cause I have no idea how the game will be set so I am way more excited about Versus than XIII.
 
I'd be excited if it actually looked like they were working on it. This site hasn't been updated since January of 2009. That was almost 2 years ago, folks.

SE seems like more of an idea factory than a game publishing company.

They come up with a great idea and merchandise the hell out of it.
 
My expectations lowed after FFXIII. But as they said this is a completely new story and for the vids I watched, it looks darker and intriguing, so my fan MODE will reset by the time of its release I'm sure :D
 
I wouldn't say more excited, but equally as excited.. Sick of them making online games and counting them as part of the main ff series.. Can't wait for this game or atleast a release date on this game!!
 
This is the game that I'm really excited about... I've been really excited about it for two years though. The longer it takes, the less excited I am.
 
Before FF XIII was release, I was more excited for Versus XIII. However, because of the lack of news, my excitement went down a few bars. I still am interested in Versus XIII though! :P
 
I am so excited for versus!! I LOVE the look of Noctus, he's reminding me of the older characters like Cloud and Squall but with better graphics haha. I think I am going to play this game with high expectations like I did with FFXIII but I think this one will please me :D

I am weary about Versus XIII since the last two FF's that were released were something less to be desired. Its also very hard to get too over the top about a game that will take what...like 7 years to create and release? I can only hope the reason that its taking them so long to release it is that they are trying to learn from their mistakes with XIII and XIV and not replicate them into Versus...but there's a part of me that doubts it. :wacky: Still, I look forward to the game, at least Noct will provide me with some hours of lusting over some delicious eye candy. :inlove:
 
Vs13 has to be better than FF13. FF13 was bad so it has no where to go but up. Plus if they bring back the elements that I have been hearing about then it will be.
 
I think Versus XIII is more interesting. Before I had even ever played an FF game, I remember picking up a magazine in Best Buy when Versus was still just starting, and the game looked awesome. I also remember a picture of lightning shooting her gun, but Noctis with his swords floating everywhere caught my eye. Versus looks freaking amazing, and I hope the game is as fun as it looks. It kind of gives me the Crisis Core feeling, so in some ways that's good, but in some ways it's bad.
