What current fads do you find annoying and can't wait for them to go out of style?

Vampires: I am so sick of the vampire fad. And I had how they have made vampires tragic sexy figures. I prefer them to be seriel killers. Because, if a vampire was supposedly good, wouldn't it let itself die instead of drinking someone else's blood?

Disney Stars: They are talentless and will be forgotten in five years time. And they are everywhere. I can't wait for Hannah Montana to be yesterday's news.

Lady Gaga: I just can't stand her. I hate people that are "in your face."

Everything you just said..XD

Disney Stars: I liked Hilary Duff, but Miley is just not good. She has a decent voice at times yes, but she'll never be anything as long as she stays with Disney.

Lady Gaga: I hate her more for her diehard fans who insist that she's the first person to do everything that she does when people did it like ten years ago. Madonna must have a time machine came forward, stole from Gaga, and then went back to the eighties.

Vampires: More specifically sexy vampires. Just get over it people. It's borderline necrophilia anyway.

Firstly, Rydia, you have an awesome custom title (or... whatever the hell it's called)! Throwing rocks at emo kids! YES!!! I'm relatively new here, so excuse me for not noticing it earlier.

I bet you must've celebrated this sweet, historic occassion...

Epic win, Rydia! \m/

Anyway, back to the topic...

Fads that I want to see no more... hmm... well, there's vampires, of course, and werewolves. Jesus... so damn overused these days, in the lamest fashion possible. Lady Gaga is gradually getting on my nerves also, as well as today's Disney characters. I want to see Justin Bieber fade into obscurity too, along with the Jonas Brothers. But it's no use... even if they do disappear, the Disney and Nickelodeon money factories will create another super-lame figure to bug us with for as long as we live.

Another fad that I find really irritating is the hip-hop culture. Annoying music, no real talent, and a fashion taste that rivals the emo variety. And of course, there is the vernacular (that EVERYONE seems to emulate in one way or another)... wassup my n****?! You be twaggin'? Ya know what I'm sayin'? I think I've been asked all three of these questions in that order on more than one occasion. Surely, I haven't been able to answer, because I really don't think that a coherent answer exists for that sort of sugar job...

Ughh... -_-

Twilight. The shit is just not that great, period. It's pumped up to be the Holy Grail, like Halo, where strategy takes a horrifying plight like Lady Gaga. The last time I saw something so redundant, I was listening to Lil Wayne with some gangster-wannabe wearing a pink hat.

..and I hate the color yellow

Oh, I forget the Jonas Brothers...they don't even have talent..they can't sing...they can't write.. I don't know what their appeal is..

Justin Beiber will always have a special place in my heart because I watched one of his videos and there was a comment from a girl that said "He's so hot he's turning boys gay". He's like 12 isn't he?

Definitely everything that Rydia mentioned; also...

TEXTING :rage: I hate it :jtc: I can understand it being useful if you're in a situation where you shouldn't or can't be talking out loud, but A) most of those places (school, work, etc.) are places where you shouldn't be doing it anyway, and B) 99% of the people I see doing it are out running errands, (failing at) driving their cars, walking their dogs or babies, or out at restaurants with their families :mokken: I honestly don't recall seeing people walking around talking to themselves before all this stuff existed, so it's amazing to me that people have suddenly found so many new things they want to talk about that they can't restrain themselves from texting in the car and driving themselves off of cliffs and into other cars and whatnot.

Three-quarter-length women's tops :rage: AMG, the clothes that I see these women wearing lately in commercials and in TV shows (seems to be mostly soccer moms etc.) are absolutely the most hideous things I have ever seen :ffs: I do not ever want to wear those things nor have the space aliens watching our networks sit there assuming that all women wear those things, they just drive me absolutely freaking crazy :banghead:

Reusable grocery bags :rage: Everyone walks around sporting them now like it's a fashion thing, and while it's good that they're not using plastic since it's made from oil which we don't have all that much of, I hate that it's the only thing a lot of these people ever do to try to help the environment. They waste and consume so much other stuff wantonly (i.e. 75% of the people where I live drive SUVs and trucks and they don't need them >_>) that it seems like a really half-assed attempt on their part, and it shouldn't be something that's done only because it happens to be in style to "go green" all of a sudden. People have known the consequences of overpopulation since the 1600s when people were dying of the plague in big cities, and for people to suddenly pick it up now like it's just now been revealed I would think ought to be inanely embarrassing on their part. But, for some reason it's not.

And, finally...
POMEGRANATES AND ACAI BERRIES :rage: :rage: :rage: OMG, can people just get over them already and stop putting them into every freakin' food and drink :ffs: I don't care if they have lots of good nutrients in them, I don't want to have all these unusual things I've never tasted by themselves mixed into my fruit drinks amongst strawberries, blueberries, etc. that I have tasted separately :mokken: Just please give me the straight-up fruits I've always eaten growing up, I saw nothing wrong with them, and I really would prefer not to get trapped by Hades in the underworld thank you very much :hmph:

Haha if I had known about the day I definently would have celebrated it :) lol and I nearly forgot about the user title but I read over it an laughed. Which brings up another fad I hate.

the EMO fad. good god please just go away. I'm sick of teenagers being emo, depressed, overly dramatic about... pretty much nothing. They're not popular, daddy wouldn't let them have the car, they need attention... When there are teens out there with real issues to be sad about. That and the goth fad. I hate girls that dress goth and then brag about how they freaked out some old lady. Yeah... you didn't freak her out, you pissed her off.

And I agree Gamingway about the green fad. It's annoying to see a celebrity claim to be green, but own three mansions (which use up lots of energy), and take trips in their private jets 2-3 times per week. Yeah you're so green.

Also, prostitots. Please parents, stop dressing your 10 and under girls like whores. They need time to be children and you're only making them pedo bait.

I'd never heard that referred to as prostitots but that bugs me too. I watched that Toddlers and Tiaras show a while back with my mother..and some of those parents dressed those five years old like they're in the twenties and teach them to dance in sexual ways...it's just horrible.

And I can't resist saying this, but the emo kids would probably like you for throwing rocks at them because it would bring up their suffering levels....

.........................................facebook.

I'd chop one of my arms off if I could erase it along with the promise that nothing like it will ever be spawned ever again ever.
Seriously.. This world has sold out to some pretty ridiculous social habits in the past but this in my eyes is the mount everest of sociological destruction. And I know that it can go away, it can be done. There was a time when I thought MSN Messenger would never die (it's dead now) and that it would take over the world.. so facebook can be stopped!

I don't even know how to use Facebook, but I wouldn't worry too much.

Myspace has really died down recently so I'm sure it'll be next.

Twitter? I used to be addicted to it, but now I'd don't really see the point. It's just not that interesting.

Amen to that Meds. I totally forgot to mention social-networking sites like MySpace, Facebook and Twitter. Yes, I do know that this forum is, in a way, a social-networking site. But I believe it's got more heart to it than just "Ahahahaaa!!! I just totally stabbed my awesome new friend (whom I've never met, but decided to add him anyway) with a spoon!!!"

Oh... and of course... there's Western Orientalism. Oh my GODS!!! Julia Roberts converted to Hinduism a couple of weeks ago. BULL-SHIT! She has to test herself first. If she lives ten years as a mendicant monastic in India, then I'll accept it. But she calls herself a Hindu and lives in her glorious mansions, with entertainment and leisure available 24/7, then it's all celebrity crap.

1. The one that really shits me off at the moment is guys who wear the gayest clothes and have the gayest hair. <_<

There was once a time in which pink was considered a girly colour and you were called a poof if you were guy caught wearing it. This time was back in my day in highschool...WHICH WAS ONLY 5 YEARS AGO! Seriously you would have got your arse kicked for wearing such things back then!

Now it's all skinny jeans, gay haircuts, fluro colours all over their boardies and shirts etc. The gay little colourful girly bracelets they wear.

I went into City beach today and a guy working there was wearing this girls bracelet that had all the colours of the rainbow on it. One of the girls working there asked him where he got it and he laughed and said, 'I stole it off a girl at school.'

That's real classy. Not! You look like an idiot!

Seriously, guys care more about their hair getting out of shape more than girls do these days and it's just sad.

Who said it was cool to wear pink shorts? Who said it was cool for a guy to straighten their hair and take more time in the bathroom then girls? Who said it was okay to wear skinny jeans and make your girlfriend act like the man in the relationship?

It's a sick world we live in! A sick world! :gasp:

2. Oh and another thing. IPHONES AND FACEBOOK!!! OMG KILL ME NOW!!!

The next person I hear say... 'I can't get facebook on my Iphone. =(' Boo-hoo'

Is going to get a kick up the arse. WHO CARES!

Seriously, most of the time people are writing on facebook and then their friend sitting right next to them will reply to their comment, when they could have just turned their heads and had a conversation, which would have taken less the time and effort!

But no, they must let the whole world see their pathetic little conversation about how Jo screwed their best mates, sisters, brothers, girlfriends best friend!!!' :gasp:

It's insane!

^^I don't mean to be rude or argumentative, and I don't know if you were serious, but I strongly resent that overall post. I think it's great that man are finally breaking free of that whole Macho act that woman have been making us do for years. If you care about your hair, why can't I? That's not very different from men saying to woman "Why aren't you wearing a skirt instead of a suit?" and that's thought of as sexist.

So that was really very sexist of you. Women wear men's clothes all the time and they don't get any of this bad feedback. Why can't we do the same? And the way you call gay constantly is really immature. If it's unacceptable for me to say it about a woman in a suit why is it acceptable for you to see it about a man in a pair of skinny jeans? I don't think it's right either way.

It really bugs me that a man who has any concept of self image that goes against the norm is immediately stereotyped as being gay, despite the fact that that has to do with who you are attracted with and not how you look, or as being stupid. I think women are threatened by the concept of men who care about their image just like men were threatened by woman in the work place.

And I'm really sorry if this wasn't the place for this rant or if it did seem too much of a want or something and I still think you're a great person and all but I just really disagree with what you said. XD

^^ No no your entitled to your opinion and I can see what you're saying in regards to my post.

Reading over it I do realise that I did come across as very sexist and I apologise for that. >.<

I just feel very strongly towards this issue. I don't mean to suggest that they are in fact gay simply because of what they're wearing, I mean to say that it makes them look gay.

Though I suppose, not many guys would worry too much about this these days seeing as everyone is doing it.

You can't figure out if a guy is a guy anymore, or if a girl is a girl? It's quite sad and confusing if you get drunk at night club and end up with the wrong gender. XD

Definitely the vampire fad.
Honestly, is it me, or did this fad just start when the book "Twilight" was released?
I, personally, would have had no problem with this fad if the shows that followed it weren't soppy, teen love stories.

i cant think of anything other than people wanking over recy cling and saving the earth by reducing your carbon fucign footprint. So, extra bin lorries on the roads for the collection of bins i have taking over my garden is a good thing is it...?

I dont bother, i dont even know the dates for the other bins anyway, maybe if they TOLD me when collection days were I MIGHT CONSIDER IT. Though, I probably wont, unless my black bin gets full, which it rarely does

LEAVE YOUR CAR AT HOME AND GET THE BUS INSTEAD! I dont drive, but fucking hell. WHY would I choose to get the bus instead? never on time, over crowded, smelly... i was late to work all the time because of the stupid shit HOURLY bus I had to get

Definitely the Vampire fad. A few years back, Buffy was the height of cool, now everyone and their mother is doing a vampire theme wherever they can. It's shit. Twilight has bastardized vampires, and now every TV show seems to be trying to win the sexiest vampire title. If I see a show now that has "vampires" in the description, I don't bother with it.

I've never got Facebook. I don't use it, and I don't like it. I know someone who said "I like Facebook. Facebook tells me what's going on. Facebook is my friend" :ffs:

Gotta agree with Kelly with the eco-friendly bullcrap. My mum's bought right into it, and is always going on about seperating plastics and glasses and whatnot. Like it matters if I recycle plastic, with China, India and America creating as much pollution as they do. If those countries drastically cut down on their pollution levels, maybe then I'd give a crap where my plastics go.

That's a great attitude. It's exactly the attitude that "those countries" have. Nothing would change if everyone thought as you do. Anyway.

I dislike most fads that are to do with clothing and stuff like that. I don't go shopping that much but I do like to have nice clothes to wear. It's really irritating though when the fashion is changing all the time and so the clothes that I have aren't "cool" anymore. I don't care half the time but it's annoying that it's there. :rage:

Same here -_- It's not like I'm really all that bothered about having clothes that are the absolute newest stuff, but when stuff yoyos between 'cool' and 'uncool' it gets right on my nerves :rage:
Some fashions are just weird though. I wear what I think is nice and could still be classed as fashionable, but I don't go out of my way to buy new stuff as soon as it comes out.
