Hi all my name well you can call me cloud and this is my first time on here i thought what the hell and join since I'm a final fantasy fanatic yep that means I'm a huge fan and i like to ask you all this so please bear with me and please give me your honest opinions thanks I like to ask all of your opinions about final fantasy stuff/final fantasy merchandises if you don't mind please read it before answering and when you answer please be honest with me thanks and yes it's about my love for final fantasy and yes final fantasy stuff/final fantasy merchandises too thanks.

Am I going too far if I wear this and whenever when and if I collect more of final fantasy merchandises?

Like I might wear the beautiful blue save crystal necklace of final fantasy 12 even though I'm a male huge fan of final fantasy or if I choose to wear squall Leonheart's necklace or any other accessories or a piece of their outfit and yes Yuna is one of my other favorite characters/all time favorite characters.

If I do that stuff like I ask Am I going way too far if I wear this and whenever when and if I collect more of final fantasy merchandises and yes to show my love for final fantasy and yes final fantasy stuff/final fantasy merchandises?

Or you don't think I went way too far and yes I almost have all of the games too :) and if it is too far then if you have advice how to show my love of final fantasy, final fantasy stuff/final fantasy merchandises to everyone please let me know and if you think I'm too old or insane I understand thanks again :).

And don't worry I'm proud of being geeky nerdy since I might not share the same knowledge as a regular nerd and I collect stuff that I love and I collect stuff that I like and yes video games is one of the examples :).

i wear my sleeping lionheart all the time

no one knows what the fuck it is and they think it looks amazing :monster:

As long as you're not annoying others with your interests (eg: talking about it non-stop to someone who isn't interested) then you should feel free to do what you want. They probably won't even recognise something like this unless they're an FF fan themselves (like L says happens with him). :)

Yuna doesn't have a blue crystal necklace. Yuna wears her blossom with two bulbs branching on the side, but that's pretty hard to come by. There are a lot of variations of it, some have a small crystal, usually just glass, in the center of the flower in the middle, but it shouldn't have one (officially). The way you describe the necklace.. as a blue crystal, makes me think that you bought this. It's packaged in an FFX box but it actually has nothing to do with the series at all. I -think- it's actually a save crystal from FF12, but there's no confirmation of that. The necklace is actually a pretty shoddy knockoff with no direct tie to any game, but pretty popular and cheap on ebay.

That said/corrected, I think merch is cool. I was wearing Tidus' necklace back in highschool, and when I wasn't wearing that, I was wearing Vincent's cerberus. I collect a lot of FF merch myself, know the difference between the knockoffs and official release stuff, since I've been following it on ebay for years.

But good luck on your collection.

thanks and if you don't mind can you answer this question am i going way too far like i said when you read the question and yes that's what i mean

I don't think it's anybody elses business but your own. If you want to spend your money you earned on something you enjoy, then do it. If you want to wear something from a game you love, then do it. I sure did, and I get the occasional glance but most of the time people don't notice.

If you're proud of being so "geeky" for final fantasy, then dont bother asking on the forums whats going too far. Just dont do it that could annoy others, or think you're a freak. keep it to yourself, or on the forums. but this is a pointless question IMO. Do what you want. no one is stopping you.

i was just curios and some people do go way way too far aka the go way way too extremes and it gives us true fans bad names and bad reputations when all are not like that and I'm just checking when i ask and I'm sorry if this question was stupid.

And some people(mainly women and girls) if not most people pretend to be something they are not and pretend to like what we like when they don't like what we like it's pathetic i know before you ask me why really i don't know why they pretend

The issue mainly is, that you answered your own question. Some people do go too far, but thats just them. No fan gives other fans a bad name. Usually people like that just think that one person is obsessed. And if its more than one? then it might be animecon or something. In which they say "who cares". I could careless if people want to be a pretentious final fantasy fan. it doesn't matter. maybe you should be a fan in ur own way and not worry about the others.

I used to wear the jecht J that tidus wore in ffX all the time till it broke.. no one knew what it was, nor did they ask. my gf at the time thought i was weird and needed help because she thought i was being obsessive, but this is coming from a person who dropped 15k into a truck to "pimp" it out and well became a lost investment. and needless to say we aren't together anymore..lol but dude, i say go for it.. you are a fan.. its no different from wearing your favorite band's shirt ya' know? so no, you aren't weird or obsessive.. you are a fan supporting what you love!

Welcome to the forums! I hope you enjoy the community here and stick around. :)

As far as 'going to far' for a fandom is concerned, I just don't like people who literally coat themselves in merchandise, and feel it's their only purpose in life. It's a rare occasion, but I see it sometimes. Just wearing the necklaces or sometimes doing some cosplaying isn't bad. SOME take cosplaying a little too seriously in my opinion, (I'm not talking about the professional model ones who do photoshoots for money and have huge online albums for tons of people to see) I'm talking about the ones who dress and try to BE the character and walk around wearing wigs at school or something o.0

Trust me, you sound pretty alright. I've got friends who wear Homestuck T-shirts on a daily basis and they don't even talk about it that much.

thanks and may say i love your sigs and i am starting to realize I'm a gamer as well and i also love anime and manga i don't know is that possible to be all 3 at same time and yes final fantasy is one of my favorite series and should i say it's my all time favorite series ever

Thanks! I didn't... uh, MAKE those sigs. If you want to gain one of them easily, test your knowledge by participating in the "Final Fantasy of the Week" events that we have. There are quizzes that you can access by pressing "vBQuiz" at the top of the forum page, and if you put your Final Fantasy knowledge to the test on the current quizzes for the week, you can win a personal signature, made by the same people who made mine. Since they're so challenging, you never know if you'll actually win or not. I got a 50% score and I got 2nd place runner-up. o.0

I know lots of people personally who are into manga, anime and games. If YOU can be one of those people, it's not impossible. If you like Final Fantasy, there are also many other games out there too that may be appealing to your tastes, in case you ever run out of new Final Fantasy content to enjoy. (Happens a lot)
The community here also has a good taste in a much larger variety of games as well, if you want to have further discussions beyond Final Fantasy here.
