A Kingdom Darkly (League of Roleplayers RP)

((OOC: Well then, I don't mind her recognising the presence of Firophoenix. By the way, my character in this role play is 'Luna'. 'Alicia' is the one back at Ultimate Elementum. Nevertheless, while I do not know exactly how 'exciting' this would be, I'll create this post to have her notice this. She will see the wolf as a mass of energy in the form of a wolf. Colours for easier distinction. ))

A wry smile formed on her face. It wasn't hard for her to notice, with her experience at handling young beings like Viridiania, that those were responses due to pride. At least, more of pride than of reason.

Nevertheless, that failed to convince her of her combat capability. It was then, as if an attempt to prove her abilities, Viridiania invoked a spell. The girl glowed momentarily. Luna watched on, uninterested, at least, until she sensed a strange presence.

The energy sphere expanded from the girl, to cover the other three. Silently, Luna had to admit she was thankful for this effort, for the rain drying against her skin sapped some of her energy.

However, what was more attention grabbing was the wolf-like creature that came to Viridiania's side. In her eyes, she could only see this creature as a composition of pure magical energy- or so she presumed the thingamajig to be.

The wolf sat itself between the warrior and the girl, seemingly protective of the little girl. 'What is that. Another elemental?' She wondered to herself, her eyes staring at the figure curiously.

An armoured hand pointed at the figure. Tensing up slightly, she felt some of her energies escape out into the air instinctively. For a moment, the electrical energies in the air reached an uncomfortable level, but she held it back down.

If it was a hostile creature, or even a creature that had no association whatsoever with the group, it was going to get fried by a bolt of lightning.

"Viridiania," She began. "Is that wolf your pet or something?"
 
OOC: Well, not exciting per se, put maybe make more interaction and stuff like that. I'd say, for effects, he'd be a very visible heat blur in Luna's vision. More opportunities the better, in any case. And sorry about mixing up the names. Guess i've been rping with you a lot these days.


"Viridiania, is that wolf your pet or something?"


Viridiania cracked into a huge smile and began rubbing Firophoenix all over his neck like a cute pet dog.

Eh....! Yu can see Firo? Wow! You're like the third so far. Aren't you happy Firo?

As much as he liked it, Firophoenix didn't want to look weak in front of Viridiania, especially not in front of the armoured lady. When she extended a finger at him, his wolf aura rose sky high and his instincts was to bare his fangs as a warning to her. BUT, as a creature who has ived for aeons, he was different than normal wolves and thus remained still, but his eyes further narrowed. He could tell that her power was ancient. Not like his, but ancient in a sense that it was linked to nature, therefore him. That may be the reason she could sense him.

Huhr....Not particularly. I feel ancient power from this one. best be careful.

The woman didn't seem like she would attack Viridiania, so he backed off and looked away, silently enjoying the ear scratching the little girl gave him. Viridiania could tell that Firophoenix didn't particularly try to be friendly, so she had to apologise, as manner. Normally, it didn't matter as no one could see him, but if they could it is only natural to be courteous.

Do not mind Firo. He has little contact with people. I'm pretty sure you would get along if you knew each other longer. On to another issue anyway. Do you know when we depart, Miss Luna?

Viridiania was trained to read profiles and voices. Although she could have JUST made it out, Luna had treated her somewhat a bit nicer than the other, maybe due to her age. It was only right to be nice back. The other two wasn't the talking type, so maybe she could talk to Luna.... maybe?
 
Maria looked at the Bangaa as he collected his thoughts. "Oh... you're that girl..." The Bangaa said, and Maria responded calmly and icely, "Yeah...and you're that Bangaa. By the way, my name is Maria." After saying that remark a young girl came in, which made Maria think, "A child? Why did they hire a child..."

The child introduced herself in a ladylike manner, Viridiania. This convinced her that this had to be a mistake. That is until she was proven wrong when she cast a spell that prevented the four of them from getting anymore wet. Maria was not amazed, or amused for that matter. She said skeptically yet casually, "A base level spell perhaps, but are you really certain that your abilities will be useful for whatever job we may have?"

Maria then put her attention on Luna. Somehow Maria knew she is not human. Luna probably knew that Maria is a Pheonician despite the fact that she had not spread her wings and revealed the case to the group.

Having that question shot at her twice in a row was incredibly fustrating in addition to being annoying. Like any child, she could not stand being belittled, even if it is justifiable in their doubt.

Had you been listening, i did say it did not measure up to my other spells. Do you wish me to demonstrate my spells uselessly on nothing but a whim to test my powers? I'll have you know, i am a fully qualified mage and have been in combat before. I believe if you still judge ability by appearance, then you are not much of a warrior then.

Viridiania snapped in an incredibly childish manner. She had been taught to control her temper and her mood at all times through logic, but she is a child. In response to her rage, the rain that had been flowing around the energy sphere began to swirl like a whirlpool, getting stronger as a reaction. Sensing her mood, Firophoenix went to soothe her emotions.

Calm little one, calm. Do not let it get to your head. Know that you yourself know your ability. Ignore this one.

As much as she tried to calm down, she couldn't completely suppress it. Turning her face away from the warrior, Viridiania huffed indignitly and her face controted into being upset, but the water had stopped swirling and returned to falling normally.

Damnation Firo. I know what i have to do. Its just that it is incredibly infuriating!

Her voice had bitterness and regret in it from her reaction. It was unbefitting for a royal and the damage was done. Had she thought more clearly, then she would have been able to respond more maturely and not act so childishly. Her tiny hands balled into a fist.

The storm began to fade. the rain slowed and became a light drizzle over a matter of minutes. the ground was soaked and muddy. The area around Mystro was rather solid due to the tree he had chosen to stay under. It's leaves kept him dry in comparison to the area around him. However, he was soaked with fresh rain, and his hair was darkened with water and dripping. His skin was soft as he lay silently under the tree that he had chosen to sleep under.

His eyes slowly seemed to creep open. His neck began to stiffen as he awake from his sleep. He was feeling completely refreshed and was urged by hiw will to stand and begin to do as he was doing when the storm had begun.

He slowly and silently stood up to his feet. He looked at his sword and stated allowed' "Seems you had your fill on me..." He picked it up, and since he had no holster, he walked carrying it in a ready manner at all times. it was always to be carried by him using his right hand, and by second nature, he let it droop low, but still avoid it hitting the ground. His stance was a proud one, and his energy was at it's fullest. However, this time when he woke up, he was feeling something brew inside of him. Something he was all too familiar with. Some could say when he feels this, he seems to let out a kind of demon... The feeling of a hatred and killers instinct began to grow in his mind. His eyes showed the look of someone who wanted to see, hear, feel, and taste blood, no matter how wrong he knew it was. At this point he feared his own mind and his mental health...

And his role begins in a tragic story as he begins walking through the trees...
 
"Don't get angry Viridiania." Maria said calmly, "I'm only being skeptical." She then thought, "Kids these days want to take everything seriously, I swear...." Maria decided to go ahead and get in the wagon, since she already has nothing better to do anyway. "So we have a lizard man, a spirit, and a kid who is good with magic." Maria thought, "Heh, this is gonna be interesting."
 
(OOC: Finals are over, so I have a lot of free time. Sorry about the extreme inactivity, but school come a'knocking, and I had to answer it. Anyway, on with the story.)

Sevan grunted, flexing his eyelids. Stifling a cough, he glanced back at the cart, then back at the group. He sighed.

Since the arrival of the second party member, Sevan grew concerned about the level of comfort for the coming journey. However, with this child along for ride, any thoughts of comfort vanished completely. Instead of stretching out for a quick nap, he felt the need to at least drill the kid to keep her safe, regardless of her supposed spell level.

Sevan recalled his younger years, and how inquisitive he was about anything and everything. He grimaced, fearing the coming game of fifty questions.

Sloshing over to the cart, he squatted, leaning against the back of the wooden frame, lance in hand. He scratched his nose, waiting for the three to simmer down from their small talk. When they showed signs of letting up, he interrupted:

"That's great and all, but I don't believe we've had any formal introductions." Sevan didn't budge from his position. "You can call me Sevan."

He carefully eyed his new found comrades with his serpentine eyes, waiting for a response.

"So...we ready to go yet?"
 
The reptilian tongue broke Viridiania from her sulky mood and instantly, on reflex, clicked her heels together and gave a slight bow.

"That's great and all, but I don't believe we've had any formal introductions. You can call me Sevan."

Ah, how rude of me. It is an honouor in making your acquaintence, Mr Sevan. My name is Viridiania.

The rain kept on splattering down onto the group and Viridiania looked up and frowned. From what she saw, it seems as though the wet spell wasn't going to end any time soon. Best get the show on the road after the others get to introduce themselves.
 
Maria was already ready to go, and had no patience to be still waiting in the rain. She said to the group from the wagon, "My name is Maria, Maria Longinus, and yes, I am ready to go."

She now had to wait for the Lightning Elemental to say something.

((OOC: Firstly, I apologize sincerely for not having followed the role-play recently. There isn’t much excuse I can think of to give… So… Sorry? Secondly, I apologize yet again, for this freaking late post. As they say, better late than never… :S ))

Her patience was waning, and it helped that the group had finally decided to get into the wagon. Silently, she approached the group, who had already got on the pathetic vehicle. They were still in the midst of introducing themselves, and Luna thought it best to introduce herself once and for all to the group.

Perhaps, she could clear up the probable discomfort with regards to the static they should be experiencing around them. “I’m Luna, a Lightning Elemental.”

Not bothering to look at her comrades in the eye, she delivered her introduction curtly. They had tarried here for far too long, and the rain only worsened the negative emotions surrounding this thought.

However, she suppresses the frustration rising within her, but incidentally increases the amount of static in the air. Realizing then she had yet to explain the cause of the static her comrades were probably experiencing, she spoke again,” If you do feel the static in the air, it is because of my power. I apologize for any inconvenience.”

Her eyes remained focused on the inn. Too awkward to maintain eye contact with her comrades, she persisted in gazing out as if uncaring of the others. Certainly, her explanation sounded like an exaggeration, but Luna quickly realized that it was her best explanation she had.
 
Mystro walked, calmly, and slowly. As though he was searching for something, but not something of material, he walked in focus. His mind was set for something. He wanted something a cold heart would want. Just one kill would satisfy his thirst, so would find civilization and hope for the next oppurtunity. If he saw anybody who dare do any deeds against his laws, he would see to it that the do not feel peace.

OOC: Lacking inspiration atm, blame oliver, he been sucking it all out tbh
 
OOC: Well... we should wait to see what Bara.Desu for the next event after the wagon ride. Here is a short post.

As she thought, the group wasn't the most compatible bunch of people. It was as motley as possible. Climbing into the wagon, Viridiania took a seat nearest to the opening at the back. She enjoyed the rushiong scenery during rides. That, and the fact that Firophoenix never rode with her, preferring to walk besides the wagon. From where she sat, she could keep an eye on him and sometimes, even talk.

There was a crack of a whip and the wagon jolted. The sphereical shell she had enlarged kept the rain out, which made it much more comfortable and probably, stopped the tense mood of the wagon's occupants from getting worse.

Here we go...keep up Firo...

Hurgh... You forget you are talking to a wolf. No mere ladened horse can shake me off.
If you say so...

Viridiania smiled widely, obviously baiting her spirit companion as they made their way.
 
OOC: Late post as well. :P With school ending its first week, it's been busy.

The child stepped forward.

"Ah, how rude of me. It is an honor in making your acquaintance, Mr Sevan. My name is Viridiania. "

Sevan drooped his eyes, unimpressed at the girl's stature and innocent charm. He shook his head to get rid of some of the rain, his long ear flaps swaying lightly from side-to-side.

Sorry kid, you're going to need a little more to rub off on me.

The young, lithe warrior introduced herself.

"My name is Maria, Maria Longinus, and yes, I am ready to go."

Sevan acknowledged the Maria more so than Viridiania, but not by much. Giving a soft murmur, he bobbed his head in mutual greeting.

Judging from her age, she's probably raw.

The air seemed to sizzle with energy as the older warrior stepped forward. Sevan straightened himself, waiting for her to speak.

Ah, the one who knows what they're doing...

“I’m Luna, a Lightning Elemental.”

Sevan blinked in surprise, trying to process the words that had been passed off so nonchalantly.

A...lighting elemental? What?

Scrunching his face, he gripped his spear, unsure how to respond to the creature. Luna lowered her face and walked past the trio. The air seemed to hum.

”If you do feel the static in the air, it is because of my power. I apologize for any inconvenience.”

Sevan breathed a wisp of hot air, watching it fade into the cold evening. Each release of static caused his skin to crawl, his heart to skip.

She seems so powerful...

Sevan felt his muscles twitch, adrenaline flowing coursing through his body. His lips twinged.

To even project that sort of raw power...there's no way I could fight her and win.

Sevan's thoughts were interrupted by Viridiania scampering over a wooden ledge and into the rear seat of the wagon. Sevan walked over to the rear, waiting for the others to file in. With everyone inside, he took his place at the empty rear seat.

The whip cracked as the cart lunged forward, causing everyone inside to sway. Sevan grunted as he tried grasping the bench and his back scrapped against the semi-splintered. The beginning of a journey was always a joyous one. After the wagon approached its cruising speed, Sevan immediately took to his first order of business: sentry duty. However, another wasn't taking it so seriously.

"Viridiania...hey, listen up. Rear isn't a joy ride."

Sevan motioned in wide acts, putting his fingers near his eyes and pointing them out to the surrounding countryside.

Time to be the elder.

"You're the first one to see anything and the first one out, so keep a look-out with me. First, keep your weapon up at-"

Sevan stopped, watching the young girl giggle with delight as she stared out at the passing road behind her. Her lips mumbled tenderly as she spoke in an almost inaudible voice. Sevan put his Ordynka aside and reached out to her, trying to grab her attention.

"No time for lolly-gagging, kid. You're on a job; act like it."

Viridiania motioned her head out the back of the wagon, directly at Firophoenix. The great wolf paced behind the wagon, its senses reaching out to the max as it scoped the countryside for any threats to his master. Obviously, Viridiania also forogt that he was invisible to most, so she appeared to be motioning out at thin air.
 
Luna watched silently as Viridiania waved out to the strange looking spirit outside the wagon. Her curiosity with regards to this creature had been piqued, and as much as she wanted to ask about the possibly sentient being, she found no motivation to do so. Sitting back silently, she focused instead on holding back the lightning energy that was seeping out of her.

This was no doubt an impossible task for the Lightning Elemental, but she knew it would make the journey more comfortable for the rest. Certainly, she entertained the thought of using it to flaunt her strength to her other comrades, but pride was not characteristic of her.

Still, she couldn’t help but chip in a comment for Sevan’s sake. “You may not be able to see what she and I see,” Luna spoke, her monotonous tone somewhat insulting. “But it should prove to be no harm to us.”

Her eyes then shifted back to the sides of the wagon, ensuring there were no threats close by. The terrains remained peaceful, but Luna was not planning to lower her vigilance anytime soon.
 
Maria remained focused on whatever mission that these people are offering to pay for. She wasn't very comfortable, though it's more so the wagon.

Still, she wasn't going to let her guard down for any reason whatsoever.

Maria can't help but wonder though, Luna, being a Lightning Elemental, was she able to know what race that Maria was in without revealing herself?
 
Viridiania's eyes kindled at the sound of Sevan's voice. Turning to him, she dismissed his warnings.

"Ah, Mr Sevan. I am not 'lolly-gagging' as you so put it."

Sevan's eyelids wavered, a slight grin at her use of language. Sevan chuckled from deep within his chest, eying the stern expression on her youthful face.

Who does this kid think she is?

 "In fact, if you are referring to keeping a look out, you need not to worry. Firophoenix will assist me in sentry duty. He will notify me should anything threaten me."

Sevan's grin dissipated into a twinge of confusion. Scratching at the skin under his pant leg, he shifted on his cramped wooden bench spot. Leaning in, he raised his brow and tilted his head back. Viridiania motioned at the area of road that was immediately behind the wagon. Sevan shifted his eyes to see nothing but scattered leaves, puddles of water, and the racing dirt road. Turning his attention back to Viridiania, he saw her back to staring absentmindedly at the road, smiling occasionally.

He grunted and leaned back.

Something's not right in the head with this kid.

“You may not be able to see what she and I see,” the elemental spoke, her voice calm and cold as the weather around them, “but it should prove to be no harm to us.”

Sevan felt a shiver go through his spine, another tingle that caused his body to shake; as if the air itself was charged. Staring back and forth between Viridiania's childish daydreams and Luna's cold demeanor, he sighed. Putting his elbow against his leg, Sevan cupped his head in his hand and stared lazily at the other warrior, Maria.

"So..."

The cart jumped, hitting a rough spot in the road.

"Ugh-"

Sevan's contorted torso compressed further at the force of the jump, a bit of air being propelled from his bent lungs. Sevan's Ordynka jumped and fell over. Sevan, seeing it fall as he steadied himself upright for another jump, tried grasping for the hilt.

"Ah!" He shrieked as he threw his arm to catch it.

If it would fall, it would land on Luna's shoulder.

(OOC: Music, what happens when she touches something metal? :P )
 
Mystro was heading out with his inasanity lurking. It was merely enough to be satsfied by one killing. His eyes looked insanely, and he held his sword in his hand, as he did not posses a sheath for it. He held it at an angle so it almost hit the ground, but it seemed to be levatating just above ground level. The crimson blade was full of all the energy it coul have, and Mystro felt its energy inside his body, mainly gathered around his feet, but kept an energy channel to the hilt. It felt good to him.

He kept walking and eventually came across signs of other life that had gone through the area. It was as though they had traveled by group. Folloowing the signs, he eventually saw marks of a wagon. It was clear to him that if he followed these marks, he would find these people. He decided to take advantage of this oppurtunity and find them, possibly satisfying his bloodlust.
 
Being considered a threat on sight by almost any human, seeing as he is often mistaken for a Werewolf, Crimson Wolf had been keeping his distance from the city, amongst the trees on the outskirts, every now and then getting just close enough to see what is currently going on there, while lying low as to not be detected and cause any alarm of anyone within the city.

Having good sight, hearing, and sense of smell, he is able to listen in on any conversation of some interest quite clearly.

One person he had been observing seemed to be of importance, recruiting for assistance with a civil affair. This stuck in his mind for some time, he thought if he would be accepted, just maybe he could finally do some good in the world, and not have to keep hiding from it.

But he knew if he showed his face, he would immediately be seen as a threat, due to his past experiences, so he considered the situation, and proceeded to think of how he could approach to offer some form of assistance, without simply bringing all negative attention to himself because of his appearance.

((OOC: By now, I suppose most, or all of you should know my level of activity. Nevertheless, I’ll just continue posting until the owner of the RP decides to remove my character. Right now, it’s amusing that I have quite sufficient time, thanks to the Lunar New Year holidays, but that won’t last…. Whatever, I’ll take things as it comes.

If she touches metal, actually nothing would happen, unless she decides to channel that electrical energy out of her. It is then something would happen to whoever is in direct contact with that piece of metal. ))

Although she may be a Lightning Elemental, whose real form would simply be bolts of lightning, in this humanoid form of hers, she was ultimately susceptible to physical damage. Naturally, magical spells would do more damage to her than any ordinary humans as well, but that was a different matter altogether.

Luna frowned slightly, unhappy about the discomfort caused by this sudden jerk. Her expression further darkened as she heard Sevan shriek, then see his weapon falling towards her. “Tsk,” She hissed, her swift reflexes allowing her to raise a gauntleted hand to deflect the blade. In doing so, she unintentionally increased the static in the air yet again.
