2010 RPB Tournament Discussion Thread

I believe Damon and Diar are finished, so I'll get to judging that fairly soon here. For myself and Vikki, as well as Squee and Jet, we need to be done within the next few days or so. Monday night at 11:59 EDT is going to be the cut-off point. So let's get to a-battlin'.

You did well, Damon. I thought you handled your character very well.

Congrats to Diar on winning their battle. Anastasia Hallows will go up against her second Alicia in as many battles. Look for your battle to start within about 24 hours.
 
Congratulations Diar, it was a well fought battle and I honestly think you did the better job with your character. I hope we both took something from this battle and better ourselves next time. Looking forward to seeing how far you get here :awesome:

Thanks for the congrats guys! It was a fun, intense battle and it was really anybody's battle. I think I went up against a good Rp'er and I'm about to go up against another now, so I don't want to get too confident. I'm looking forward to taking you on again Damon. Thanks for an intense battle and good luck in any future ones. ^_^

If Jet doesn't show up/post by Monday night, you'll advance by default, Squee.
 
That's the worst way to win, but I suppose it is a victory. I'll take it but I would much rather win for real, Next battle I'm in will be when I show what I really can do with RP. Just a warning to whomever may be next...:ahmed:
 
I was just wondering whether you're including fragments as grammatical errors, as I have included some in my current and previous battles. I think the occasional fragment makes the story flow, so I was hoping you could tell me whether or not my habits are losing me marks
 
Not specifically, no. Unless a player consistently uses poor sentence structure that makes it difficult to read, I'd agree that the occasional chopped sentence does help the writing flow. Something like: "He heard the crack of twigs breaking and searched for the location of the sound. By the fence? No. The large oak tree. In the branches?" Perfectly fine.
 
Check the information thread if you saw the notice about the RPBT being put on hold. Short version: It isn't being put on hold.

Bleh. Computer crash, life limiting, so i never got a chance to get on till now.

I'm slightly upset that I defaulted, but I guess the outcome would've been the same.

Though, just to make sure, you and I are going to have an off-tourny rematch Squee.
 
I agree Shadow, But I dont know who to use :gasp2: I guess we could simulate this battle here and we could do the same battle again :hmmm: but with my sis havin baby and everything, I'm not sure it can be soon tbh...
 
Just a reminder for Svein, Diar, Squee, and myself: We have a little less than 36 hours to finish up the battles. The threads will be locked a minute before midnight Eastern tomorrow night.

Jesse, the outcome of battle is up to you now, I will be going to bed soon, and Lloyed is pretty weak from the blow you gave. It was a good battle, and no matter what, it is you that decides if Lloyed dies with you, or if you live. I know I don't have to say it, but it all depends on your character...
 
Let's not get too premature. We still have all day tomorrow, and anything that I do in this post you have to react to still. But it is definitely getting down to crunch time.
