Nintendo has just decided to drop a bomb in today's Nintendo Direct event. Aside from announcing that the peasants here in Europe will receive Shin Megami Tensei IV sometime in the near future (hopefully), and Mother/Earthbound for the Wii U Virtual Console, they've also decided to announce the westward release of Bravely Default: Flying Fairy for North America and Europe.
According to the presentation, Europe and Australasia gets it later this year. Yes. This is apparently happening.
North America? You guys are stuck with 2014. I know, right? It kind of stings.
Nintendo will publish the game, as opposed to Square-Enix. This sort of makes sense considering how absolutely reluctant Square-Enix seems to be at the moment in supporting their handheld endeavours in the west. So why not delegate the work to Nintendo? Maybe Dragon Quest VII will follow, who knows?

DISCLAIMER #1: At this point in typing, neither sites state that Europe will supposedly get the game earlier than North America. NeoGAF has assured me that this is the case, so waiting for the two sites to update again.
DISCLAIMER #2: not copy and pasting news information is very do-able, guys.
You are in America right?
Anyway, at least it's confirmed to be released out here in America, we've just got to wait a bit for it. We'll have other games to hold us over until then. Hopefully Bravely Default lives up to the hype.
It's gonna be cool

Seriously, I've never bought anything so serious like a box set or director's cut video game before, but I will do it for this game. I haven't been too serious about video games in general ever since FF has gone a little...has gone on a little secret hiatus. This is something to look forward to, for once in a long time, so I definitely wanna make it special, especially with such a pretty name (fairy) and pretty things in it (fairies).
