EDIT: more accurate, longer news

A few additional bits on Final Fantasy XIII-2's upcoming download content have surfaced from Famitsu and Sokuho.

As detailed earlier, the game will see new costumes for Noel and Serah in late February, priced ¥300/240MSP. Serah's costume is the pink "Resort Style" swimsuit outfit that was previously shown. Noel's is "Jikuu no Shugosha" (maybe... "Protector of Time and Space"), a black colored suit that is given to time traveling warriors from Etro.

Famitsu gives a more specific February 28 date to Sazh's download content, which is priced ¥600/400MSP. Sazh's DLC is called "Omote ka Ura ka" (maybe... "Front or Back") and involves Sazh somehow ending up in Xanadu, where he decides to try out two new table games.

Those two games are also part of the DLC One is called Chrono Bind and is played on a table that has a clock face on its top. Read Sokuho's writeup for specifics about the game (which, like most card games, is probably easier to understand by just playing it).

The second table game will be detailed in the next issue of the magazine.

The Sazh story DLC is released faster than I thought. They were saying they will keep releasing DLCs till May. So it won't be surprising if there will be lots more story DLC in the future. Likely in all forms, prequel, midquel and sequel DLCs. The Sazh and Lightning story DLCs seem to be midquels by the looks of it.

It's great to hear that the casino DLC minigames are part of the story DLC. Buying them separately most likely means we have to pay more. Better still, 2 minigames in one download. But less optimistic people may say that they are forcing us to download a package which contains only half of what is worth playing.

I will most definitely buy anything story related, but not sure about DLC battles or costumes yet. Well unless these are cleverly packaged in one download with story parts.

Wow, they are releasing the DLC quickly... Is this a wise idea, I wonder? People will no doubt argue that, if DLC was only going to take a few short months, they should have released it with the game. :ness: I would rather they spend time developing really good short stories for each DLC. It's more important than receiving DLC quickly.

I hope Sahz's story DLC is lengthy enough to make an interesting story. :( If it'll take around half an hour, I'm not sure I'll get it, although the price doesn't sound unreasonable, which is good. :)

I'm certainly looking forward to seeing what this DLC contains! :)

CORRECTION: A previous version of this story mistakenly wrote that Noel is also getting a swimwear costume. The swimsuit is just for Serah. If you want your male RPG heroes in swimwear, see Tales of Xillia.

...

Swimsuit Serah. Won't that be popular over in Japan? No console JRPG is complete over there anymore without the option of forcing the girls into swimsuits.

Sazh scenario sounds like a long series of wandering around and card games in the casino place. Also sounds like something that could have been in the game as well. Oh well, I can't see it being very long anyway. Sazh is probably just gambling with his underage son by his side.

Could be worse she could be forced into being a nudist :P

joking aside, I don't think Releasing DLC fast is a bad thing since theres alot of space in the historia crux I figure they have alot more stuff to add to the game and I for one am looking forward to it :O lol

Plus, the faster it's released, the more people will buy it. If you wait months and people have long been finished with the game, less sales.

There are more screens in the link.

I think I like the concept of the card minigame. It's good that it's not just some lazily added existing real life card game. The clock thingy and the suits look interesting. Hopefully it's as fun as it looks. But I dont usually spend too much time on minigames anyway.

Those new costumes are just... ew :mokken:

The Sazh DLC looks good, I remember going to the tables in Serependity and then a message comes up saying it's part of the DLC, and I was like :hmph: not sure I will buy it though.

That new outfit for Noel looks a little better than the Battle Attire one (I bought the Battle Attire outfit, I didn't think there was going to be another one released. >_>.) I don't care about the bikini outfit at all.

That minigame looks interesting, I wonder if it will be playable outside of Sazh's story.

Noel is looking more and more like a Kingdom Hearts character at the rate this is going. And Serah could really do with a bit more weight. While she doesn't look anorexic, she looks awfully flimsy - not to mention even more unconvincing as a 21-year old.

Card game looks more exciting than Triple Triad at least.

Ill be getting all of this. Kind of weird though that Sazh's story is just minigames. Im kinda hoping its more than that. But either way.

On Serah looking as such. She's based on japanese build. Alot of Asian women are small like that and look much younger than their age.

The Sazh DLC sounds interesting... I'll probably get that when I actually have time to get on with the main game a bit more.
The outfits I may have to get too; just for the lulz if anything. I'm already finding that red battle armour Noel has (the outfit I got with my pre-order) quite funny.

My friend was with me today when I saw the pic of Serah's bikini costume... She actually said 'I wish they actually did bikinis like that'.... HAHA.

As Square Enix had promised, the recently-released Final Fantasy XIII-2 is already getting lots of downloadable content. The next round of DLC, with both costume and story content, is set to release on February 28th worldwide.
Available will be an episode titled 'Sazh: Heads or Tails?' where players will control Sazh in a storyline that runs parallel to the game's main story. The content has him ending up in Serendipity where he's trying out new card games. Upon finishing the DLC, you'll get to add Sazh to your party if you wish, and two new card games will unlock in Serendipity: Chronobind and Serendipity Poker. Sazh: Heads or Tails will be available for $4.99 or 400 Microsoft Points.

Serah and Noel will get new costume options. Serah's is a Beachwear outfit that might be reminiscent of Rikku from Final Fantasy X-2 - or maybe that's just me. Noel's outfit is called Spacetime Guardian. They will also be available on the 28th, for 240 MicroSoft Points or $2.99.

So, it's actually worldwide release, and afterwards you get Sazh in your party. Definitely looking forward to it. Almost taking up the rest of my $20 PSN card though =o!

Wow, Serah's bikini looks REALLY cute. x3 I wonder if there's any real ones made like that out there. Mirroring what everyone else has said though, the card minigame seems fun, I might actually get this.

Serah's bikini... :kinky:
But seriously...can she wear anything that shows off anymore? :ahmed:

Noel looks cool...like someone said kinda Kingdom Hearts ish..but the artist did make costumes for Kingdom Hearts so... :wacky:

Sazh DLC seems interesting enough :hmmm:

Card game... I WANNA PLAY IT CAUSE I HATE SLOTS!!! :rage:

Ohh so it's now minigame+story+extra character in one package?
Recruitable Sazh is most likely just an ally monster like Lightning and Amodar. But it's still a cool addition in one single download along with minigames IMO.

This doesnt sound very exciting, maybe its just me though. I'd rather they just move on and make DLC to complete the ending. If i wanna see a girl in a swim suit i will go to the beach.
