Final Fantasy XIII-2 characters model Prada’s spring lineup

The latest issue of British fashion magazine Arena Homme+, on sale April 12, features characters from Final Fantasy XIII-2 showing off Prada’s spring / summer 2012 men’s collection.
“Our Spring issue focuses on a world of direction and escapism, and having a visually stunning videogame franchise such as Final Fantasy work alongside us and a leading fashion brand like Prada to create something so unique is incredible,” said Max Pearmain, Editor of Arena Homme+. “I’ve always been interested by the power of videogames and their place in society, and the amount of work that’s gone into this project blows my mind. We’re incredibly pleased with the result.”
“The Final Fantasy series is known for its creativity and innovation; so working with Prada, a renowned fashion house with such beautiful clothing was a very exciting opportunity. The images we have been able to create together are vibrant and unique,” said Yoshinori Kitase, producer of Final Fantasy XIII-2.
The magazine contains a 12-page feature on the line, with CGI images developed by Square Enix’s Visual Works studio in Japan.

They're video game characters, not clothing models, the only one who looks good is Sazh! Lightning looks like a cowboy with that scarf and shirt. It doesn't look right. Still gave me a chuckle though.

I hope this is a joke. I mean how pathetic can we get now? Using video games to model a clothing line? We all know most video game characters are designed flawlessly so using them to model clothes is not a real way to go. It's also the concept as well, have we truly run out of proper marketing ideas that we need to resort to using video game characters now?

How is this any different from real life? Real live people are photoshopped and altered so much, with professional stylists doing their make up, hair, and everything in between. That isnt indicative of real life either. So with that aspect I dont see a problem with it.

Do I think this is stupid? No. Pointless? Yes. How many prada fans are SE going to make play Final Fantasy with this ad? Absolutely none. Unless they got approached and paid for it, I think it's a waste of money that could have been used for game development.

In other news, Sazh and Hope look pretty good. Lightning and Noel look out of place IMO.

But either way, Im guessing their clothes are expensive. Which is a waste of money in my eyes.

Seeing FF characters in real clothing is a little strange, but these images are very well made. I wonder whether they used models, then edited over the pictures. I am tempted to pick this magazine up and use these images as posters.

Exactly what I was thinking. But we all know Lightning is pretty much FF's face for the moment, just like how Cloud was.

For anything else, my real initial reaction was to rage at Light's outfit, cuz I thought they were smart enough to stuff her, Fang, Vanille, and Serah into Versace gowns. Now THAT is what I'd love to see.

I don't really understand the second batch. I like the suits, but not on Snow. Noel's clothes don't seem to fit his age nicely, and Hope is all... awkward. In BOTH his shots. Couldn't they have chosen stuff appropriate for the characters?

Wow, Snow's ones are funny.
I prefered the first batch to the second, I think. The second ones don't seem as well matched. I almost picked up the magazine at a services on my way back from Cornwall, before realising I didn't have the money and knowing me I'd get embarrased buying a man's magazine. Aw well.
