[01/08] New Final Fantasy XIII game has entered production

It seems this thread has diverted more from the news of a new FFXIII game being put into production...to a why FFXIII is a very bad game. Like I have said before I don't mind FFXIII and FFXIII-2 I day one purchased them both and I have enjoyed them both. Yes it may not be up to par with the past but I still found it enjoyable. The battle system slightly improved in FFXIII-2 but it needed a full cast of battle partners for it to have been a much more traditional FF. They added a lot more 'freedom' even though it still felt restricted, the maps felt smaller even though there were lots of directions to go. The story even though a massive change from the first I still found interesting and it brought about a villain I find is at the same level of that in Sepheroith.

Would I like to see the next game? yes...after the DLC ending I look forward to how they will bring closure to the game. I also like the fact that Lightning will be the main character again which will save us the unbearable pain that Serah delivered. If they can bring FFXIII-3 with more tweaks to the battle system like FFXIII-2 but have all characters and no monsters...or make it 3 characters and a monster in battle at once and have the story takes some interesting turns involving the goddess etro and chaos. I think the game would do a lot better, and maybe actually make the world bigger I mean we will now have a whole new cocoon to go to now.

We'll see....in reply to what all these others have been saying. FFVIII was an ok game, it wasn't the same as the traditional FF's in terms or story and it's junction system being confusing to newcomers or genuinely crap to some others. It was the only FF that I have only finished once....cause I can't push myself through the game cause the story drags and takes so much time to develop and expand. FFIX was the return to form for me personally, FFIII was a very good game and it was a bit underrated. FFV I have no opinion on the game but I haven't heard much positivity from it so yer.
 
I think you are going too far by saying that Final Fantasy XIII is worse than the first 3 NES games.. Thats a bit silly. Final fantasy 1 you had no idea where to go, you had a random encounter for each step and the story was non existant as well as character development but thats understandable considering the console's limitations. Final fantasy 2 and 3 are basically on the same book. For how bad XIII may be I think it is silly to say that it is worse than the first 3 games. Im playing through FF2 right now and all I do is spam the attack button(Maria does magic sometimes but w/e you get my point)(Im in the salamanda mines), its boring! But hey dont take me wrong. The first 3 games are mere prototypes and it is faulty to judge them, but I found the comparison silly.

Also you guys are attacking Noc too much. He just thought it was a good game but not as good as the other FF's. Also the game may be linear, have arguably mediocre characters and limiting battle system but I think it has a good story(never played it but from what I have read), and if the story is something nice I would forgive the rest personally and still enjoy the game(FFX is linear, you only have freedom for sidequests in the end and its one of my favourite Final fantasies along with 7/8).

Im essentially done with debating with them. It's one thing to talk about the game, but literally all they are doing now is resorting to personal insults since I dont agree that FFXIII is the worst game ever made for any console at any period of time. I'm going to simply ignore their posts.
