I'm feeling the same as you are in all honesty. It never actually seems right without my dad around (even regular mornings and nights) but holidays and birthdays take a bigger toll than most days. I wish I could get drunk like you tbh, lew. I've never drank but I'd be lying if I said the thought hasn't crossed my mind lately. I'm not sure if you're lucky or not that you'll be distracted with your dinner with your dad and family, but I guess a distraction is a distraction. Have a drink for me, will ya? Me, we've had practically no money all year so there's no anything for Christmas, not the slightest amount of anything. Which is ok, cuz we're not use to gifts and stuff as is. But the day will just be a constant reminder of the bad so since there's no celebration I plan on sleeping the entire day. Sounds pathetic but it's better than moping around the house looking at a empty Christmas tree with not even the uplifting sound of family chatting happily.

So I say your meaning of christmas is spot on. Home alone is a great film and I will watch it as well. I do hope you have a moment of some kind of happiness though, even if it's brief.
