Alright, I want to get your guys opinions on this topic because I find that while playing the game, I hardly ever ever ever have Selphie in my party due to how weak she seems no matter how much level her up.

Not to mention I totally dislike her happy, cheerful, jumping attitude when compared to the rest in the game. At least Zell had some anger issues that made him kind of fit in.

Anyways, if she hadn't been in the game, would it have been better, worse, or doesn't really matter?

I don't think anyone would care if she wasn't there.... But, if she wasn't... I wouldn't have any of that awesome doujin.:D

She's not completely useless, though. Usually she gets here full-cure limit often. She also has a limit that ends battles. I've only gotten it once though.

It doesn't really matter. I don't really have a problem with her being there, nor could I care less if she wasn't. To me, she was just there. I leveled up all my characters, so she was pretty strong, but weaker compared to the rest of the characters.

She did kinda annoy me a few times in the game though. =/ But it's not enough where I'm like, "Die Selphy!"

i pretty much agree with what ur sayin. I thought she was an ok character for the game overall, but as a fighter she was poor

She wasn't that bad a character. Her limit breaks were what helped me out the most in boss battles. I liked her attitude. It's not like I want everyone to be emo now, do I?

Agreed, you need a few cheery characters, the ones that give FF a bit of humour, and her limits can be of great help in emergencies, you don't need a bunch of miserable people in the party to make a good FF, otherwise the chances are that this site would only have members of one personality instead of variety.

Also, yeah i like Selphie, and she does, along with Zell, give FF8 that bit of humour, i always put her in my party for her limit, and to see what she'll say in a serious situation.

I loved Selphie, she was like the groups pick-me-up, and I always liked using her. She did get a bit annoying in some parts where it had to be hard to not wanna smack her upside the head.

She pisses me off...as for the whole "need humor" thing, Zell does plenty of that(HE'S AWESOME!), especially when he fights with Seifer on the exams on disk 1...as for selphie, she could scream bloody murder while being tortured and i wouldn't bat an eyelash....

Heh, well it's good to see all your opinons.

I will admit that she did give game variety, and kept them pretty uplifted. But the whole running around "Join the Balamb Festival Team!!!!! WOOOHOO!" Thing was just irritating. :)

Out of all the characters, she was the one I liked the least. I didn't care for her cheery happy go lucky attitude either. In fact, I think I only used her when I absolutely had to during missions where the groups where split into two.

However, she does have one of the cool limit breaks, "The End". I've only managed to get it once and its cut scene is kinda comical.

She was fun at times, dreadful at others. Don't want to call her useless though.

Once again...I think we're going to be good friends. :)

I couldn't stand Selphie at all. When the game first introduced her as kind of a clutsy sweetheart I thought "Ah, this will be cool. She'll be the fun sweet character who manages to shine bright even in dark and troublesome times". lol Yea, she was worthless. I can't stand her... and the fact that she loves Irvine is enough of a reason to blind her, gag her, tie her feet together and chuck her out of the Ragnarok on it's own. >.> She was completely useless. Honestly Irvine and Selphie remind me a LOT of Oz and his hideous girlfriend from American Pie. Not sure why, to be honest.

which guy is oz? yea shes pathetic except for her limits that arent normal magic. i think that there is about 4 of them? the only time i liked her is when she wanted to blow the vice president to smithereens even though they were trying to take him hostage

I can't say I'd be bothered if she weren't in the game, or wasn't playable. Although physically weak, I believe she had her uses; as do they all. If ever she was in my party, she'd just be a general magic caster. I'd probably Draw a lot with her, too. Mainly due to the fact that my main team is always over-leveled, I was able to allow one character to mess around.

So no, I wouldn't consider her entirely useless. Just a bit. ;D

Well their stats are determined by how you junction magic to them.

And I don't think any of these characters are usless since often you have to split them up into two groups of three. So if Selphie wasn't there they one of your groups would only have two characters.

I love Selphies character, heck had her hairstlye in college ^^
I levelled her up as best I could, but she was never apart of my main team. I liked her personality as it gave some relief to the story.
I felt so sorry for her when she discovered her garden destoryed.
