What is next for Final Fantasy?

Lets look at Final Fantasy shall we? (since this is a Final Fantasy website! :gasp:)
Final Fantasy has done it all almost for RPG's (except make a fully western RPG but has come close with XIII) Final Fantasy has even made a tactical series and a fighting series. They made two movies and an anime, books, they have made sequels and prequels to games, they have so many spinoff's from Crystal Chronicles to having Chocobo's have there own game. With Versus and Phase-zero being the last two games that we have heard about really being planned for the Final Fantasy series, what do you think should be next for the series?

Should they make the next official Number game XV, should they try and make a new spin-off series? Should they try to jump into another genre of games (like they did with dissidia making it into a fighting game.) Should they expand on the XIII series more (since they have XIII, XIII-2, Versus (which is apart of the XIII series along with Phase-zero.) Or should they do something else?

And before this turns into a bashing Final Fantasy thing, If you want to bash Final Fantasy take it to another thread please, this is what you think Square-Enix should, or what you want them to do next with the series.

At best mediocrity or death. They've not made a good game since Finaru Fantariji tenaru. 12 was dreadful, 13 managed to be even worse and I assume 13-2aru will be even worse. The dissidia games are absolute fucking shit, I think I would have more fun being glassed than playing those shithouse games. Then there's Crisis Core which exists only to make money, the gameplay wasn't that bad, even if the game was completely pointless. So their last decent game was 10 years ago, which is quite some time. However Michael Jackson managed to maintain his career without a hit for ten years and he Geoffrey Leonardised children. They'll probably make finaru fantarijiaru 15aruji. It will have gorgeous graphics, it will have no story, the characters will all be shit, the gameplay will be dull, and when you've finished the game you'll realise you wasted 80 billion hours on a game with a story less interesting than an episode of Clifford the really big red dog. Famitsu will give it an admin rating of five stars, everyone else will give it an admin rating of four stars.

The Final Fantasy series will continue on like that forever, however they'll often give out a promising whiff of cunt to stop people from getting bored. That will be rumours of a remake of Finaru Fantariji 7iji. Lead developer of the tedious shit department Hanzimotu Foxaru Threehundredlegkicksaji will deny the rumours whilst staring at the camera with his 'come to bed' eyes, just like Fiona Apple's eyes in the music video for Criminal. When they finally remake FFaru7ji you will think you'll be in hot steamy night of passion, but when you peal off FF7remakearujiaru's Victoria's Secret lingere, you will find a massive cock. Then you will realise that you have been fucked over. Again.
 
Final Fantasy 13-2 was a very good step forward and had a villain that almost rivals Sephiroth. the story was abit weak but i forgive that

even though some people didn't like it i thought FF12 was good and FUN which is the whole point FF13 crap but i think that was just SE getting used to a new style of FF and 13-2 proves they are learning and i can't wait to see whats next

i just wish they would drop all that over the top girly cyber punk stuff
 
Final Fantasy XIII-3 or some lousy FF 13 spin- off like FF13 Before Time began featuring Noel in his timezone or something stupid.

And tons of FF Versus problems, false promises and issues. :gonk:

Final fantasy is DEAD to me all the way. FF 12 was the last final fantasy i played and i enyojed it contrary to you. What kill the fantasy to me are the following things :

World map gone: Here is something that i dont get, how in lower systems like nes, snes and ps1 (Ps2 onward nope) they had world maps and now with the consoles capacities they dont create really beautiful world maps, the coolest thing on FF were the times were you get an aiship and explore all the freaking world, Big Fail :facepaw:.

Naming the Main Character (Last seen in FFX): May some people call it stupid but that is one of the things that made FF feel like a "Role" playing Game. In FF barely they give you choices during the game and the Chance to name my MC was a way to give me a little feel that the role of the MC was to be me (Even FFT WotL state it when you try to remove Ramza from your party stock. "Im supposed to be you" he said), and now i have to Withsatnd a dump Character like Ligthning and her sister (Forgot the name). Big Fail :facepaw:.

There are others but those two are the ones that killed FF for me and for that i say:

Go and "finally" Die FF for the Gods sake.

Ps: i play time to time the FF for ps1 because from XII to below they are great games.
 
Final Fantasy 12 had a world map system, there were lots of locations and optional ones they were easy to get to but you had to explore and there was a sense of scale honestly i'd take FF12's world system over the older over top map system any day

peaple are always quick to jump on the things 12 did wrong but don't praise it for what it did like then you complain that FF13 didn't have enough explore

think about it "i didn't like 12 because it wasn't like 10"

Is not the same, riding an airship was a stapple in FF. There is always a point in the game that they gave you an airship and explore at your leisure. I enjoyed 12 "world map exploring" and if the next FF take that route that would be a great welcome. Pleasing fans is hard for SE but it wasnt difficult to Square Soft, they gave us the FFs that we love.

SE is just messed up, they are making FFX HD, because they realized that FF-XIII was a huge mistake, its just not me lad, SE knows that and thats wy i can still hope for a comeback, if not then there are other franchises that are more worth than FF right now.

PS: I loved 12 i wouldnt had 200 hour gameplay if it were the contrary, its 13 that i complain.

SE is just messed up, they are making FFX HD, because they realized that FF-XIII was a huge mistake, its just not me lad, SE knows that and thats wy i can still hope for a comeback, if not then there are other franchises that are more worth than FF right now.

honestly i agree with dark night... you are complaining about pointless things and you have high expectations... i mean honestly they have done just about everything to try and please you people and what happens??? you bash them... i mean honestly if you want a FF game like the rest go make 1 yourself... i mean they are doing right by changing it up a lot... change is inevitable and you seem to be blind to it... you cant help but look back which makes you disappointed... stop comparing and you will actually have fun... i have never compared any FF games... i mean i have my favorites but i dont compare... i look for the good qualities and the bad qualities of each game and they all have the same... they didnt mess up XIII... the story was well played and the chars had great qualities to them... so what if they didnt have a world map or airships... its a new damn game which means some things get taken out and new things put in... GET OVER IT!!!

for the sake of the post i think SE should stop with the FF games since people cant realize what a new game represents and can't realize a good story either... all people will do is complain about how its nothing like the older games

Just kidding. Yes im stuck in time (Im still playing FF 6 and 5), i have already moved to other games so im only here giving my opinion on the series current state and thats why i seem to bash almost all the time. I love all ff from XII to below because they more or less represent one of my golden years of my life in gaming.

But in this era that magic has gone and is a shame that FF became like that, so i agree with you in that FF should die in order for SE to launch another franchise that doesnt have any relation to their golden era in gaming.

i can agree that it doesnt have the same flare as the rest and it just has a different feel to it... XIII was great in a lot of aspects but is far from being the best... but it was still a good game... for the comparing sake the worst FF games is crystal bearers...

The crystal sub-series are the worst of the worst, i prefer 100000000000000000000000000 times FFXIII than that sick spin off.

Lets see what the direction FF is going to take, in the meantime i will try to see FFXIII in a new light, maybe buying XIII-2 in the future:trollface2:.

lol awesome... just remember that your expectations will be what ruins the game for you so try not to expect too much and give me your verdict... i will tell you that you will rather play the other ff games after but you gotta give it till the end at least

I will be difficult since as i said before the old FF always come to mind, but isnt the last time i played a non-like ff, tactics was that game.

You DO realize that you can ONLY play Final Fantasy 10 on a PS2, right? Did it ever occur to you that the reason they are doing the HD version is to allow more people to play it? Unless you kept your PS2 or you got one of the original PS3s, you are shit outta luck when it comes to playing FFX and FFXII.

I highly doubt SE is doing the FFX HD because they supposedly failed with XIII. If they were doing anything to get past their supposed XIII failure, it would be to get straight to working on XV, since XIV has been a colossal turd (but they were trying to fix it right? I don't follow the online FF games)

Now, to what this topic is SUPPOSED to be about...

As far was what I think they should do next? Give FFIII, FFV, and FFVI PSP/Vita remakes like I, II, and IV. After all, this year marks FFV's 20th anniversary. Of course, let's get at least Versus out, then they can work on a FFV PSP/Vita game.

For the person that said Squaresoft made games people liked and SE doesnt...FF8 (Squaresoft) was met with alot of criticism from fans and had a split fanbase. FF5 was viewed as a step backwords in terms of character and story compared to FF4. FFX was criticized for its linearity and main character by many fans, etc. FF has a split fanbase in general that love to hype and bash certain games. In my opinion, FFX pisses all over FFV(thats my opinion that people will disagree with), just as kratoscar says I-XII are alot better than XIII.

Back to the original topic, I cant say for sure what direction FFXV will go in. I would like to see them do something a little different and have a main character that is old. im thinkin about an old war hero or something in her or his mid 50's leading a revolution or something. or maybe play as a bad guy for once(imagine playing FFVI from Kefkas perspective). i doubt SE would do that but its just a thought. also,i would like the series to bring back regular summons(not the ones from XIII) as well as use X-2's ATB. add a job system to the mix too.

it would be great if the next FF take more influence from games like Mass Effect (They did that with XIII-2), and gave you the chance to take a "Role" as the MC, like allowing you to name the MC at least of the first name and choosing the genre.

I think that FF has distance itself from the rpg genre and given us a movie like experience, they focus too much on story telling and dont give the player a role to have. In X they let you rename the MC, at least to me that was the last spice of Role that they gave us and thats why i loved X.

To last it would be cool a return to the turn based system not something like action based system, thats why we have Kingdom Hearts i think.

well lots of people like the turn based but others like the action based and lots like the mix (like X-2, XIII, and XIII-2 had) its kinda skeptical on what SE will do for the future of FF but im seriously hoping they cut it off here cause i dont need them to come out with games people are gonna do nothing but bash
