Where did you get the movie poster at the bottom? Edward Norton isn't going to be Bruce Banner in the Avengers movie but he is on that poster.

And that pisses me off. Ugh. Does anyone know WHY Edward Norton didn't want to come back to do that?

I got the pic from google my friend :P
Anyways check out this article for the reason why Edward Norton is not going to be in the avengers movie:

Its sad...less authentic this way...oh well....

Incredible Hulk was pretty good .....

i think mark ruffalo will be a decent banner. he doesn't look the part as much as say eric bana did, but he's a solid actor.
the rapport between tony stark and captain america looks to be interesting, which is to be expected. i'll definitely be seeing it.

THE AVENGERS - Worried or excited

Well its been a very long time they have been promoting the idea and plan for this movie.

However I cannot help the feeling that its prolly gonna suck.

I mean Iron man the character and actor I look forward to, as well as Sam jacksons role as Nick Fury.

However it seems they are rushing the flicks to promote this film.

Honestly I thought Captain America was absolute trash, and the actor playing him was pretty lame. Thor surprised me... but I still didn't think it was anything special.

As for the hulk... its a shame we do not have Norton... just some other kid.

I have looked forward to an avengers films for a while... but I get the feeling that this might turn into a commercial mainstream suckfest.

I look forward to seeing it anyhow... lets cross our fingers for excellence and not crap.

i'd hardly call mark ruffalo 'some kid', he's a fantastic actor. and i think he may be older than ed norton too... judging from norton's behaviour on the last hulk film i'm not surprised they dropped him. i love him as an actor, i think he's absolutely fabulous, but he sounds like a bit of a prick.

This thread is now a general discussion thread for the Avengers movie, including discussing our hopes and fears for the movie.

There is already a thread for avengers brah, if you want to discuss any part of the film I'd imagine that is where you would do it

nt sudo moddin, dnt nfract plz

w/e "brah" the world is not ending. Don't really come on this site much anymore so I didnt know about it. Next time I will search ahead of time to please the royal family ^^.

Anyhow I think Ruffalo is not that impressive looking at all. Sam jackson is in about everything nowadays (yet hes cool) lol. Captain America actor is just aweful. Scarlet Johanson is just hot IMO. After seeing her films I don't think she is all that talented (especially "the island"). Of course Downey is AWESOME! If anything I would go to this movie to see the iron man. I will also note that Iron man #2 was not nearly as good as the first one, and I think many might agree with this.

So I definately won't be seeing this movie for the exceptional cast.

As for the trailor it... looks kind of clique. I mean a bad guy wants to destroy the world, some explosions, blah blah. Looks like another overselling special effects movie that might tank or just turn out "all right". I will be placing my money that this movie will be later called "allright" and "oversold". It feels so commercial, also it feels as though they rushed a couple of the avengers films (Thor, Captain America) just to boost marketing for the avengers.

Does anybody know why Norton is not participating in this? That was a major let down for me because his hulk movie was the "only" good one imo.

Norton got into a dispute with the studio (there are differing accounts as to who was more at fault) so he lost the role of the Hulk.

i really like chris evans. i thought he was a bit crap in fantastic four, but other than that he's a strong actor. and scarlett johansson is great, particularly in the island!

and it's bound to look a bit cliquey... they're the only superheros in the world. :wacky:

I'm immensely excited for this movie. I'm 100% Marvel fan, and just can't wait for The Avengers. My boyfriend and I will probably go and see it on the opening day, for real! :D

It doesn't matter if Ruffolo isn't "good looking". And anyway, I think he does have a handsome quality to him, especially if you know that he had a brain tumor that left one side of his face with partial facial paralysis. And besides that he's an amazing actor who I've enjoyed and anticipated watching in many films. So when I first saw that he was playing the Hulk I was shocked and thrilled. Bruce Banner was supposed to look completely opposite of how he looked when he was the Hulk--so I think Mark Ruffolo is a perfect pick for him. Like others said, I love Edward Norton and the Hulk film of his, but he just didn't fit the role.

And I like Chris Evans and I very much so like him as Captain America. He fits the role perfect in my honest opinion. :hmmm:

Robert Downey Jr. is of course the best actor for Iron Man. I don't think I could imagine anyone else playing him. He's just too superb of a faker to be in a comic book role but that's what makes him so brilliant. He never lets his excellence in acting get to his head, and he continues to do fun roles like that of Iron Man and Sherlock Holmes.

Jeremy Renner is spot on as an actor in general, but as Hawkeye I think they couldn't have picked anyone better. :ryan: He's just awesome all around.

Chris Hemsworth
is a good actor and I like him as Thor so I know he'll be great.

Scarlett Johansson
.... well, honestly, I think she acts a bit iffy in a few roles but she has been good on other films. I actually liked her as Black Widow so I look forward to her in this film.

And the sole fact that Joss Whedon-who is probably the single greatest director/writer to ever grace cinema-is the one behind this ensemble of great actors... well, it just makes this film richer in perfection.

I know for a fact the directing will be spot on. I know for a fact the actors will be amazing. And I know for a fact the screenplay will be just as brilliant as the previous two. And I know for a fact that the theme of the film is awesome. :ryan:

the screenplay will be as brilliant as the previous two what? :hmmm:
Of the things I mentioned for the film. :wacky:

"I know for a fact the directing will be spot on, I know for a fact the actors will be amazing, and I know for a fact the screenplay will be just as brilliant as the previous two--" I should have added "attributes for the film." but I was in a hurry. :lew:
