Famitsu.com has posted a lengthy gameplay video of Final Fantasy XIII-2 at its YouTube channel. It’s a direct feed grab (aside fro editors Bun Bun Maru and Romancing Saga in the lower right).

Take a look at the nearly six minute clip

The one thing I got out of this footage (and it's hardly any different from the E3 demo anyway, so they could at least have had a demo that showed a bit more new stuff), is Serah sounding like she is having an orgasm near the beginning. And that was it.

And who wants to bet that Famitsu will give this a 40/40? I mean, if they gave FFXII (as much as I liked the game, it was not perfect) full marks and FFXIII 39/40 despite how lacking it was...

There is nothing new in this gameplay. I posted the article last time that the E3 and TGS demos were very much the same.. apart from the fact that you can have a chocobo in the Tokyo game show demo. Oh and Livi, I agree :hmph: Every FF girl sounds like that nowadays. Oh and they will probably give it a high score.. and maybe even perfect. I am just glad you do not have to play as the same leader throughout the whole game. You can switch them in battle at least.

At least the battle system looks as if it will be more than just button mashing X constantly throughout the whole battle, although it's only minimal adjustments I suppose it's better than nothing -.- a minor improvement on Final Fantasy XIII at least.

As for Famitsu, it's pretty much a well known fact their reviews are bought and rigged, Final Fantasy XII and XIII would have gotten a 30/31 at BEST otherwise. Famitsu's reviews are about as straight as a roundabout.

Gameplay really isnt that different from other stuff I allready saw however their are a few new footage parts such as ai talking interactions and longer chocobo footage oh god :) One thing is that music I know wont be in the english version, Im always jealous of their soundtrack, before FFXIII I listened to the cocoon de chocobo theme and sunleth waterscape so much I memorized the lyrics perfectly, then I get the game english version and its the same beat for both but different lyrics, some is the same but a few different parts, I was like wtf thats not the song I listened to all this time it sounds so much better in jap :gonk:

Chocobo fighting just irritates me, I hope and pray that jus tlike XIII we dont need to ride or fight with a chocobo as a part of the story and it can just be sidequest, then again guess it doesnt matter since im going to do anyway :( that chocobo just looks stupid in battle to me .___. The Ai interactions with talking, Is old but I still like how they did it, I rmeember going back to them multiple times for different lines and cause they talk to fast or 2 people talk at once x.x

FFXIII-2 Gameplay? There should be a rule against putting oxymorons in topic titles :hmph:

In any case, this doesn't really show us anything we haven't seen before. Looks like Square Enix have run out of "new" things to show us and are now just driving the points home...with a wooden mallet and a sharp stake. I already have a gaping wound in my chest from the last FFXIII game, it's downloadable content made into a rushed cash-in disguised as a sequel isn't going to help matters. In short? Either show us something interesting or fuck off, we're painfully aware this thing is going to be released within a few months.

Also, Famitsu have clearly lost the criticism that has made them famous. They're quite clearly either going senile, or are just as easily dazzled by sparkly visuals as the rest of the media, and those of the general public who base their opinions solely on reviews. Scores are based on graphics these days, rather than gameplay, so of course this game will receive high scores across the board, save for perhaps a couple of online websites and on Gamefaqs.

I agree with this. The way they react to the things in their SE "gameplay" videos is kind of scary. And they gave FFXIII a 39/40 when much superior games have gotten lower scores because the Japanese just love their SE games. It's like how the people on that Pokemon show in Japan were practically screaming when they showed the first Black and White gameplay footage.

But hey, at least the game looks to be somewhat better than the original. They fixed that atrocious camera as well.
