SO I was on a site where a person was looking for a game and asking for links to where they could buy it.
So in turn I posted a few links to some sites where him/her could buy it, Just to be told thet they wanted well known sites to buy the game from, wich where all sold out.
In turn yes I did get irked since ones bitching about not being able to find a game wouldnt you be happy thet some options where made available to you?
...and it made me think

So my question would be if you where desperate for a game but only had lesser known options to buy it from would you?

Personaly ive had this expierience and I just went hunting down about the site and read up on it befor I bought my item.

:hmmm: for me it depends on how the site looks, if it looks dodgy I wouldn't, but if it looks legit, and if I did some research and didn't find anything bad about it I would definitely buy from there.

People are still a little paranoid about buying things off the net with their credit cards and stuff, so they wont trust 'random' sites easily.

This. I'm very careful about buying things online so I can understand this person wanting to use well-known, well-treaded sites. If I find a new site that looks legit, I still do a bit of research on it before buying anything. You can never be too careful with your personal information, imo.

I typically only use Amazon to buy my games. Sometimes I'll check Craigslist. I've never bothered with ebay as I've heard too many horror stories.

I rarely order anything online anyway, and when I do I certainly prefer to stick to the well-known and "safe" websites that I know a lot about, such as Amazon.co.uk and Play.com. I've never really encountered a case where I really want to purchase something that isn't already there on shopping sites that I'm pretty familiar with so I've little reasons to ever venture onto less familiar sites to look for what I want. I can see myself being a bit too cautious however and avoiding the less familiar sites completely even if I can't find what I'm after on the more well-known sites. I usually take the saying "play it safe" a bit too far anyway. xD

I would be uncomfortable buying from a less reputable site. Information must be handled carefully on the Internet. If it was something I really wanted, I would probably just live without. It's only material objects any way.

I only buy games from Amazon, GAME, Play.com or from sites of high street stores such as HMV. I won't buy from any site that doesn't have cover for bad products like Amazon does. I know ebay is at least meant to but the amount of bad products I've heard are shipped is horrendous. Tia pretty made my reason clear too with personal information, give someone your 3-digit number and bank card number and you could be in a debt of thousands in no time. If I get a bad product I'll happily send it back, the effort of doing so is just annoying.

I order from Amazon.com all the time. Finding older game, especially off of the PlayStation and GameBoy consoles, are harder to find. But as far as any other site, nope. I don't care for eBay. I don't want to bid for something. Mostly 'cause I don't have enough money. That and I'm paranoid about shit online. I try and have little to no information about me online.

Amazon has become my favorite place to shop for games. I don't think I've walked into a store for awhile and picked up a game. Its so convenient and the prices are at least a few dollars cheaper...plus you usually get free shipping and it just shows up at your house. ...so you really can't go wrong :monster:

I will only go through them though...I don't feel a need to shop around because the prices are usually the best through Amazon. I feel going to other places unless its Best Buy or whatever is risky. There's too many scammers out there so I stick with what I know is reputable.

I only ordered from a online site a few times and that was just for games I could not find here or something like that. Unreleased games that never came out here but were out elsewhere. I remember ordering off of Amazon but my uncle orders off of ebay. Amazon shopping is fun but I do not do it anymore unless it is really a game that I want. Sometimes to get games from other places and if the release date is far off for me I will do it. With all that being said, I do not usually order games online anymore.

I tend to go with either well-known, "mainstream" sites like Amazon or Play when I'm ordering games (although I have taken to ordering from the GAME website now, since they tend to ship games out to you before release date, meaning you get them a day early) and, for less-known games, I go to eBay. Not because I'm particularly wary of websites that I don't know - although I certainly can be, since some of them are decidedly dodgy - but because I can't really be bothered to constantly enter my details, and there aren't that many games these days I can't find on the websites I usually go to anyway, and those I can't find I can do without :lew:
