Kefka.

Sephiroth was a cry baby, and wasn't even the REAL villian. It goes Hojo -> Jenova -> Sephiroth.

Kefka DESTROYED THE WORLD!

I could get into it but I don't really feel like it at the moment.

sepiroth went crazy and wanted to destroy the planet, which would destroy all the tacos. I dont know about you, but i love me some tacos. When you threaten my tacos, its personal. CHALLENGE SENT. WAITING FOR YOU TO RESPOND SEPHIROTH I GOT NOTIN BUT TIME

[Insert an evil laugh here]

Kefka was much more entertaining then Sephiroth. Sephiroth may be original, but Kefka has a much more deeper personality. He just shows what a madman can do to the entire world.

go sephiroth...

sephiroth. sephiroth is the ultimate badass. sure he may not have destroyed the world, but only because he didn't want to. if he wanted to, i'm sure he would've done it. i can't take kefka seriously. i saw him in disidia and was like "no. just no". i haven't played 6 cause i don't have an nes or whatever, but yeah. sephiroth wins it for me.

I voted Kefka because he think that all life is meaningless and that makes him a better villain. Plus, he's a psycho-narcissist-clown and that's really original.

@Sephiroth243000: How can you choose between the two if you haven't played FFVI? Try it on a emulator and you'll see, it's a great game with a great villain!

isn't disidia good enough?

In Dissidia you get an overview of his personality but you don't see how much destruction he made and his most memorable lines are in FFVI. That's my opinion. I know that what I say won't change your view about kefka because you are pretty much sold to sephiroth.

Kefka wins this bout, pure and simple.
The reason? Well, let's go through the criteria, shall we?
Goal progress: Kefka. Kefka achieved everything he wanted - he scarred the world and got his own personal plaything that worshipped him as a god. Sephiroth wanted to be as his "mother", Jenova - he wanted to take up her mantle as an anti-Ancient and use the Planet as a space shuttle of sorts to devour planets and grow ever stronger. Problem was, Meteor got stopped, the Geostigma got wrecked and Sephiroth didn't even get close to his desire.

Villain-osity: Kefka. Kefka felt like he was much more of a constant threat to the party because, let's face it, he was. Sephiroth sent various clones of Jenova to face you now and then and manipulated Cloud like a grade A master and not much else. Kefka poisoned an entire town because he was impatient, mussed up the entire world order because he felt like it, nuked a town because they annoyed him and betrayed everybody he worked under. Plus, you faced him along the way, not some random monster.

Style: Tie. Yes, Sephiroth might be a cool, cool customer who exudes bad-assery at every turn. As previously mentioned, nobody could escape his will when he focusses on them and his reputation guarantees he is feared. Kefka, on the other hand, is the Hellborn Harlequin himself - he is capricious, arrogant, rude, condescending and downright petty. He takes insanity and raises it to a fine art.

Overall, Kefka is just a fantastic villain that is a constant threat, while Sephiroth is a player of people. Thus, I'd rather face Sephiroth than Kefka.

WAAH! HAA! HAA! HAA! HAAA!

:tl;dr:

And seriously, this isn't a spam thread.

On another note, a friend and i had a discussion about Kefka V Sephiroth yesterday!

We weighed the achievements of both villians and this is our conclusion.

Sephiroth travelled the world to get to the Northern Crater to summon meteor. he succeeded but the meteor didn't crash into the planet and cause the "wound". and also, was cut down by Cloud and the gang, which i assume deactivated the materia.

Kefka actually managed to become a god. Not only that but rules the entire world for 2 years. he also re-arranged the face of the planet, and also had a cult named after him.

Mind you, he kind of used the Gestahlian empire to do it but nontheless, he achieved his goal, if only for a short time.

Kefka.

He far more evil, sadistic, very insane, absolutely funny yet remains scary because of his odd personality. He started the Angel of Death, the man who wanted to be the God of the world (actually succeeded in becoming a Demi-God!)! The wings, the chaotic angelic look, the epic different stages of his last fight. His evil laughter....

Kefka was so bad and evil, he had a Cult made after him of sadistic, creepy people! Which actually scared me! :O

He poisoned people without even a second thought, which he probably didn't even think about that "first" thought. He tortured people with the Light of Judgment and destroyed an entire planet and managed to rearrange the whole thing. Fused with the gods of magic and basically made them his slave and then turned himself into a god.

He used a young woman to kill and put a slave crown on her and kept her inside of a tower all her life.

Ayen's post about him poisoning a whole kingdom just for "shits and giggles" is absolutely true. He didn't have to do that, he just wanted it to be over with very quickly and wanted a good show, oh, and to get at Leo xD

If THAT isn't evil, then what Sephiroth has done will never ever be evil xD

Sephiroth is good by his cold attitude and whatnot, but Kefka is the better villain, far more evil and doesn't have ANY mercy at all. Kefka would spit on someone's dead body, that's how insane he is.

Matseb2611! That's a funny picture! xD

what the hell are you laughing at man?

It's supposed to be the text from Kefka's laugh. You should play FF6! ^_^

I've played both games and can honestly say that I prefer kefka over Sephiroth any day. He's the one of the few villains who actually achieves his goal. Sephiroth didn't get to accomplish his goal for one minute. Now lets see, two years> no time at all. Kefka also created more collateral damage. while Sephi was busy running all over his world, Kefka was busy ruling, rearranging, and destroying his own.
