does anyone else think that auron is the coolest character in ff10, even cooler than the main character tidus?think about it. he always says the coolest things when he goes into overdrive like "PRAY NOW!" or "THIS IS FOR THE FALLEN!"and his MASAMUNE is really cool, and I think he is the most powerful character in the entire game. I think the only things that match his coolness are the aeons ANIMA and BAHAMUT. does anyone agree differently?

Auron is :awesome: double :awesome: even!

The whole Bushido thing he has going on and the One liners he wields are almost as deadly as his a sword skill, the percieved arrogance is just a show, Auron is like the father we all wish we had.

Undead to boot.

And I'm pretty sure Yuna is stronger than him.

I'm in a rush so I can't get into it. I'll edit my post later.

Edit: Everytime I get Auron, Kimarhi does more damage than him. But soon Auron becomes my strongest, physically. Oh, and he obviously has the highest HP. But he's byfar not the most powerful character in the game. I find Yuna, Rikku, Lulu and Wakka to be way more powerful, over all. -Shrugs- It all depends on how much you level and how you do stats.

You seem to be missing the point? they are pretty much the best characters in FFX.
Yunas strength comes from her summons with out them Yuna is just a very good white mage.
 
Whoa, Auron is freaking awesome. I always tried to max out his stats, and then no monster or sinspawn would cross my path. However, I find Tidus and Rikku to be the best for me. (That's only because I unlocked her awesome weapon... but whatever.)
 
hahaha auron was awesome. Hes like the guy you know in real life. The one who knows everything, theyve been around for ages and done it all and alwyas have the best advice and know what to do in tight situations.

@rinoa lover being stronger means nothing in the game seeing as thats all down to levelling etc so its pretty pointless adding that in this thread really.

He was one of my favourites, just a laid back dude who alwyas rose up when he was needed.
 
Lol all Auron is good for, is tanking.

IMO he sucks ass for anything else.

Lulu and Yuna pwn better by far.

Hell, even Wakka's better than Auron.

After getting Lulus and Yunas Celestials, fully upgraded gives you 1MP cost, double/triple overdrive and break MP/damage limit.

now thining about that, especially with Lulu, can you imagine the damage with doublecast?

Now think about Yuna. triple overdrive.
summon anima. if she survives the 2-3 consecutive attacks, dismiss then re-summon and overdrive again. reapeat this a third time if anima doesn't die.

Or you can be smart and also summon magus sisters, since the minster will have 3 targets to attack.

and Wakks's just......awesome.

In the end Yuna is the best cause she is the ONLY character to have summons. You can say that other characters individual overdrives are better but with every Aeon with a full bar and Yuna... she can deal much more damage within time.

Also when you max out the sphere grid, every character can learn every skill/spell. The only thing that makes them different is overdrives. If you max out the summons too... well then you got an overpowered character that deserved her own spin-off. Pity how that went though.

This thread is not really a character comparison thread and more of an appreciation thread? thats sounds about right.

Auron is Is an Unsent legend and highly skilled warrior whats not to like?

Huge mother fucking swords and a bottle of booze on his hip, sounds like the perfect role model to me, I actually didnt trust him when I first played FFX, I thought he was suspicious.

But as the game went along he was shown to be a powerful warrior and High thought of by the other people of spira............and more to the point he really didnt care
if they liked him or not.

Also M.II you do realize the hypocritical nature of your post considering you have the Man in your SIG as well as 1 of his more profound quotes?

i just think that people should look at more than just how strong a character can be in the battles. The main thing imo is how the character affects the storyline and the part they play in it :hmmm:
saying that i alwyas took auron, granted he isnt the bestby the time you go and super level up but he was one of my favourite characters purely for who he is, not his big sword or limit break.

Auron would have to be my second all time fave charecter...but realy now max everyone out and it realy dosent matter who's stronger than the other I had them all KOing enemies out in one hit ,even Yuna with her rods wich made my summons opsolete for the most of the regular gameplay-Hell even the end boss and summons I killed within a few hits so whos stronge and whatnot in the end didnt matter~for me atleaste
I just liked Aurons charecter

In terms of personality and looks yes, him and Lulu were my favorites.. In terms of being used for gameplay though if your maxing the grid he is pretty much useless in the end.. He cant summon like Yuna, and his limit breaks fail in comparison to most of the others... HOwever the game is so easy that petty stuff like limit break damage really doesnt matter... Not even on arena monsters if you use Yuna and summon magus sisters + passado attack (with full strength) now that is power, and u dont have to play blitzball to do it..
 
Auron was my brute force guy. You know the one who hits so hard and the one who survived mostly. Yeah he was epic. I really liked Auron tbh. Had him in my party replacing Tidus all the time. I didnt bother with Tidus much... Yuna however was my strongest just because she is my favorite character xD. So Yuna ftw :lew: Auron's character in general was awesome though :ryan:
 
Auron is OK-ish, I guess...I can't say I'm overly fond of him as a character, because as far as dark, mysterious types go, he's fairly predictable. He's got a pretty good voice actor - one of the few characters in FFX that does - but he's not particularly interesting, and his character design makes me think of what I'd imagine Squall to look like in thirty or so years.

Battle-wise, he's my third least-used character, after Wakka and Kimahri. I never really found much of a use for him.

I thought to myself: is there anyone from FFX's cast that I honestly really did like consistently throughout the story? It was certainly not the best cast out there in the series. With characters like Tidus and Yuna, while there were moments when those two have really grown on me, I've spent quite a few occasions in the game disliking them. Auron however, had been one of few characters (along with Lulu and perhaps Kimahri) that I've enjoyed having as a main character throughout the game.

With rather shoddy voice actors at the helm of Tidus and Yuna and quite a few others, I really love Auron's voice actor even though it's nothing really groundbreaking outside of FFX itself. Auron himself serves a nice contrast to Tidus, who is mainly level-headed and calm even in situations such as the party being detained in Bevelle. When it comes to the dialogue, FFX's were admittedly rather poor and unimaginative, but it was thrilling to see the most epic lines given to Auron (hello, pre-Yunalesca battle scene) and it was hard to see him go at the end. On one occasion though, Auron did make me raise an eyebrow when he laughs almost maniacally in Luca when Tidus confronts him. I don't quite remember why he did that now, but it did make me think: "whoah, wasn't expecting that from Auron".
