I had an unbelievable emotional connection when the fight with Yunalesca happened. I guess it's not so much that I like Yunalesca, but both the scenery at this part of the game and the outfit she wore created some sort of weird deja vu for me, perhaps a deja vu into a past game that wasn't Final Fantasy that I can't remember.

Nevertheless, I think of the fight with Yunalesca as being one of the creepiest parts of the game.
 
Yeah I think the fight is creepy and it's certainly one of the creepiest fight's in the game. I think the way yunalesca talk's add's to it it's like she's able to convince you there is no hope for people and everyone will die. The scenery did add to the fight which made one of the best battle's in the game.
 
That whole scene was fun to watch. The build-up to the battle with her was great too seeing everyone give their motivational speech or whatever it was. Especially Auron's. It just got me really pumped up and ready to lay the smackdown on Yunalesca :mrgreen:

Man, now I want to look that up on YouTube just to watch the clip again.
 
I think it's creepy because Yunalesca was a character who brought a kind of salvation to Spira by giving summoners the Final Summoning. The idea that this salvation was trying to kill you would have contributed partially towards the creepiness.

The location, too, was quite atmospheric. A starry night, with chunks of rock simply floating through the air, and that little glass symbol Yunalesca was standing on. It gave a dark feel to the whole battle.
 
It was creepy indeed. Nobody there was expecting to defeat sin was needed a sacrifice, someone to become the final summon. The way she tried to convince them contributed for the factor of creepiness and the build up( like Ayen said) for the battle with her was really amusing, wanted to kill her so badly.

P.S I yelled : "You bitch!!!!!" when the battle started against her :P
 
I didn't consider the fight with Yunalesca to be awkward but quite the opposite. I think it made sense since she was an unsent and unsent tend to take demonic forms when they start a battle, similar to
Seymour and his countless forms
or the unsent at the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth. If I were to label this battle as something, it would be as irritating, frustrating, painful, and annoying. Especially if you die and you have to go through all the chit chat all OVER again.

Zombie + Life spells isn't a good joke. :hmph:

I lost during the Yunalesca battles. So while I guess you can cast it, I guess it isn't on by default. Personally I found the battles with Yunalesca to be a tad hard.

I guess if you're prepared and already know what to expect, you might ace it.

I liked this part a lot too.. I died on her quite a few times, she's a tough boss, but that also allowed me to watch the cutscene prior to the battle a bunch of times.
The part where Lulu would get all upset and say "But what about the teachings!?" really hit me hard. I could really emphathize with her, she's just being told everything she ever believed in was a big lie.
Yeah, I'm gonna youtube it now too.
 
ok i did this fight last night....i owned Yunalesca....my strategy was for Auron Tidus and Rikku (Rikku and Yuna both have holy) Rikku used holy while Auron and Tidus did their overdrives, she was dead in about 7 hits (Rikku had auto-med on so that helped tons)

second form, i summoned Bahamut and immediately did his mega flare overdrive....and before she could wipe her out completely

i grand summoned him ending that form....

last form
i unloaded with holy and all summon overdrives..... Yuna owned most of this fight

Would have loved to see that fight. The only thing missing is somebody yelling at Yunalesca with, "Get your bitch ass back in the kitchen and bake me a pie!" :awesome:

I can't remember how I fought her the first time around. I'm not much on the way of strategy I tend to go for the strongest hits, keep my team HP's up and hit overdrives whenever they're ready to be hit for the most damage.
 
my Strategy brings out the most possible power (for me anyways) right now yuna is my strongest Character, i'm training Lulu Tidus and Rikku for reasons i do not know.....next i'll be training auron wakka and Kimahri at different times trying to see how strong my entire team can be.....so sin will be a pushover
 
you compare yunalesca to Omega and its not that difficult at alll. i mean you fight yunalesca then you go deep into the ruins and you think
what the hell was i moaning for earlier?o_O
 
fight with yunalisca who i know who she is were do fight with her and why are you fighting a good person in 10 is it in 10 2 or just reaguler 10 why did she turn bad or something whatever.....

Yeah, if you're talking about the Omega Dungeon, I barely escaped with my life :gonk: However, I honestly didn't find Yunalesca that difficult, I think I only fought her once or twice before winning :hmmm: Granted I was likely quite leveled up at the time, because I had been trying to collect ingredients for synthing weapons for a while; however, other than the status effect issues, I don't recall the actual damage she did having been that devastating :hmmm: I can't remember who I used but it probably would've been Auron, Wakka, and Kimahri (white mage :D), probably alternating out Wakka and Kimahri with Lulu, Tidus, and Yuna occasionally to get some extra hits in, to keep from draining Wakka and Kimahri's HP as much :hmmm:

Are you confusing Yuna with Yunalesca, or have you not played through 10 that far yet?

Yunalesca's not a bad person as such, she just has a very different viewpoint than that of the protagonists', and as such does battle with the party.

I don't want to say much more than that in case I spoil it for ya.
