I found Zells pretty easy but Squalls was forever to get. Especially haveing to constently fight that one mechanical monster with Laguna in Esther. lol

I went for the lionheart 1 time and played cards and got 12 Dragon Fangs from a T-Rexuar and that was about it. But achieving all there best weapons would have made it to easy, and getting the weapons just because I can is not a reason to do it.

If you need them because your having trouble is fine but I like to take my time and acquire the weapons at different stages like when you want a new one or leveling up Low level Characters.

I never tried to be honest. I probably could find Squall's easily because I love the card game enough to get all the materials.

I always about getting them when you want them, since they are optional you can ignore them or get them all on the first disc. All about whether you want the boost or not.

on disk 1?

pffft never tried. Im not really one of those folk who like to boast about what theyve done in the game and how fast etc :wacky:
IM happy enough just playing through and enjoying the story :ryan:

Well seeing as I like to play through the game normally it took me till disk 3. -_- Is it honestly a big deal if you get unnecessarily strong at the beginning of this game? People keep boasting about how they can do all these things in the first part of the game when all theyre doing is wasting time...in the time it took you to get those weapons you could have been finished most of the game...besides leveling with the game provides a challenge that you may want in order to keep things exciting...Being too powerful can be a bit of a bore dontcha think? :monster:

Well, I'm not boasting about having all weapons so early. I just figured it would be fun to have Squalls ultimate weapon early and it is, but while I got Squalls weapon I happen to get Zells too. I saw what you had to do to get everyone elses and it was ridicouls. Plus, i have beat this game 4 times before I figured I would try something new. :/ If I wanted to boast I would do so and talk about my level 99 in Midgar on FFVII. ;)

You included ALL weapons in the title so it was naturally assumed. You're one of many who's made threads based on their early game achievements, feats, discoveries.

A fun challenge you should do is playing through the game without use of magic...Or playing through without using the junction system. those are really fun. ^_^ But that's just my opinion.

To be completely honest, until I saw this thread, and became utterly confused as to how you can get weapons before you get the Weapons Monthly magazines. I did not know you didn't actually need the magazines...which is sad, considering I've played through 8 several times...

I may just have to try this now...I'm not sure if I have the patience to though. :hmmm:

As far as what Kusanagi mentioned, I've never had an interest in trying no magic challenges. I use magic way too much to be able to just all of a sudden not use it. As a matter of fact, I've really only tried one challenge, and that was the Cecil only challenge for IV...but that's for a different thread. I do like seeing the different challenges out there though.

I could've sworn I posted in here twice?

Antagonist nonsense most likely.........Ive never felt the need to utilize challenges while playing FFVIII, the No Junction challenge sounds interesting, but only using 10 or 20 spells
instead of 100 for junctioning is more my style.

Someone been drinking hater-aid? You're making the mistake of thinking he's playing the game the way you think it should be played. Everyone's game is different. As he mentioned above, after multiple times through the game, you can always try things earlier than you would normally get the chance.

Just because you don't like it doesn't really mean anything, and you shouldn't rake him over the coals for it. And I don't really think he's bragging about it, just asking the question. But /gg coming with that 'no magic' challenge after ripping on the OP for doing something that's not always done.

I just generally wait to Disc 3 to get allthe weapons and GFs and people levels up a bit.

That's a really interesting view....I may try that... :hmmm:

EXCUSE ME? XD

Are you seriously trying to imply something about me that for one is not proved in any way? Oh how nice of you to not follow you own advice seeing as most of my first post was directed at the FF8 section in general (the word people is plural btw) and not to any one person and secondly at the end I was giving other possible challenges which in my opinion was much more fun than being overly strong.

No it doesn't matter what I do and don't like and I'm not saying I think the game should be played in any specific way. Please, in what way did I "rip" on this person? Get your facts straight before you go insulting people. Maybe try staying on the thread topic too? :hmmm:

This is a FORUM where people express their OPINIONS. I resent your implications of my targeting someone else. I simply try to understand what others do different and toss in a few other opinions.

I wasn't trying to imply anything. You took what I said as a death threat apparently, and not as criticism referring to judging someone else way to play the game.

Your opinion is clearly welcome on a public forum. As is mine. I wasn't trying to prove anything, as you seem to think I was. I was just pointing out that everyone plays their own way. If you want to know where I found my motivation to post in someone's defense, read the bold in the below quotes.

You clearly say 'people' in the original post (which is quoted second), and then single him out in your reply (quoted first). You also imply that he's taking the challenge out of the game, when maybe that was his intent, to just enjoy the storyline or not worry about upcoming battles too much.

You may despise my posting (clearly), but it is my opinion (I have one too).

Before replying to this, I won't reply to any other posts that are off the topic, just PM me so we don't continue to ruin this thread.

Theres always 2 in a crowd! lol

That was......interesting, but back to the OP question, I usually keep the Revolver on Sqaull for as long as I can until about the very end of Disc 3 From the Revolver to the Lionheart its a very small power rise of 11 to 30 its even smaller on the other weapon types, the only Character I go for the Best weapon early for is Zell, Because Erghiez was a great game and they are cool looking gloves, aesthetically speaking.

Seru and Kusangi-san put it so eloquently, everyone has a choice or an opinion, but
boy am I glad my other post was Deleted or I could have copped a spray........You knuckleheads LMAO.

But anyways I'd like to make it clear that I wasn't attacking anyone and everyone has an opinion harsh or not...

I've found getting the magazines for Rinoa's dog limit breaks in the game quite easy :hmmm: But I've never gotten that much into weapons anyways. I guess it's all based on looks with me cause I don't like how the newer weapons look at all. Ugh Never got into the whole find things early craze anyway :hmmm: but still at least I got a new challenge :monster:

Mod Edit: The picture was really unnecessary so I deleted it. Let's try and keep the thread on topic from now on.

This.

I never even thought about it. I just go through the games to continually get a better grasp of the story. I did make sure to get especially ready for it on a second playthrough :hmmm:

i spent about 20 hours playing cards with ma dincht, it go to the point where i only needed the sacred card for the adamantines, so it was pretty straight forward for me to get everyones weapon by disc one.
