High-Res-FFv13-Interview-Hit-Net.jpg

If you’re sick of hearing about these same Final Fantasy Versus XIII scans, this looks like it’ll be the last time you see them. The high-res scans have finally released, showing off each of the three screenshots in their highest scanned glory.

Q: Is this a real-time screenshot we’re looking? The image quality is very good.
A:Yes it’s an image in real-time using the real hardware. We aim to improve the quality you’re seeing now even further. As of now we can’t share more details in full scale right now, so we removed the menus and subscreens where it shows Noctis expression (image projected on the subscreen).

Q: Were the party members also there originally?
A: Yes, we removed because we haven’t formally announced their weapons and clothes yet.

Q: The exquisiteness and shades are like a photograph taken from real life.
A: Indeed, we’re using physical calculations to determine the movement of the clouds. By this time it allow us to filter sunlight and others on Versus XIII.

Q: Is the cliff to the wilderness & the Gas Station set in the same location?
A: Yes in the back of the Store is the cliff to the extended wilderness. You can walk all the way, to everything you see but the mountains.

Q: What’s this giant Enemy on the other screen?
A: It’s a Military Behemoth and he actually bears a huge sword in his back. As for this pictures, the battle screen were on the screen but we omitted it.

Q: The street of Shinjuku is real.
A:Yes, it’s our model for this, even the bicycle lanes and crosswalks are depicted. But the sense of distance has been changed a bit since the last time. Right out of the city you encounter the wilderness with electric wires every as it’s this kind of territory for this country.

Q: This region, It is only the Prologue, the early stages, nature is so even there.
A: Movement around this area is easy because you can use a car. Getting on and off the car can be done any time, but only not possible to go all the way through it because it leads to a region underwater that has been shown on promotional trailers before.

Q: Monsters appear on the field?
A: (Laughter)…Yes, there are monsters that appear on the field; Some staff were doing the tests and were surprised by how good looking some are in the evening sun.

Q: Are the battles seamless, what about the world?
A: It’s basically seamless and we aim to make it even more seamless, but there are loadings between big areas.

Q: Information disclosure, is very restrict as of now.
A: Development is very advanced along and according to expectations we’re taking steady steps; wait at ease please, information on Versus XIII will come. Moreover, we’re making preparations for a Big announcement.

Q: You can actually see a signboard and things written inside in the screenshot?
A:The signboard is still temporary even though the inside of the Gas Station is modelled after the Stations in the US in detail. It’s possible to go up there using the stairs.

Q: Do you play in this perspective the whole game?
A: Yes. The camera basically sits in this position. We decided to priority to the character’s presence and the world; that said we decided to scrap the over the shoulder perspective of the world.

I'm just amused by the fact that we still know so little about Versus, yet instantly it sounds much more appealing than FFXIII. I am optimistic that with Nomura at the helm, maybe - this game can succeed and delight us where FFXIII has mostly failed to.

And I love the authenticity of the Shinjuku-recreated city of Noctis's kingdom. One wouldn't be able to even guess that this is a Final Fantasy at all. It's certainly looking more like a mirroring of reality than ever before. I hope there's still enough fantasy thrown in though.

Yeah I agree Olivia. Final Fantasy Versus XIII already looks more appealing then XIII like you said. This game is the darkest one yet rght? Might have an M rating. But FF XIII failed in some parts but it also had a unique system. Still I fully think versus will be better honestly. More fans on this one ya?

If the monsters look so fricking good in versus please dont make the same ones but stronger :ffs: I think this is the game I now fully want and am waiting for!

Happy to see the field where Noctis .............But I also hope that they have a place like Zanarkand Ruins like in FFX.........I think it would suit the world..........I don't want this world to be futuristic.........I don't mind cars but hopefully at some stage of the game or part of it you won't have access to a car.......so you can use a chocobo's...............Looks good so far.........but hopefully they have other areas that you can stare at all day!

I agree, I originally thought that Versus XIII sounded and looked far, far more appealing than FFXIII in every possible way but I think the problem with Versus is that there was never any news on it for absolutely ages, and now it's in the spotlight everyone has rediscovered their interest in it. :ohoho:

To be honest, waaaaay back when both titles were revealed, Versus caught my eye more than FFXIII. I guess that infamous trailer playing the theme "Somnus" with a night setting and more or less the interpretation of the world against the young man appealed a lot to me as opposed to the vague trailer of a woman kicking ass and running in preliminary gameplay footage (although I really liked "Blinded by Light" back then as much as I did during the game xD)

Anyways, I played and enjoyed FFXIII (yes, shocking, I like it and won't use every chance to bash on it >_>), so now it's just a matter of waiting for Versus.

This game looks so promising, I just hope I will be able to play it. I might be moving to China in the fall so it might be hard for me to get an english copy.

Wow

I really hope this game turns out to be a revival of Final Fantasy. It's not that I don't like the newer final fantasy games, but a group of fans think that the series has been getting from bad to worse since FFX (or to some people, since FFXII)

Although this title looks different, I can already observe positive receptions from fans. I think the concept of 'Final Fantasy Reality' is really cool. Just hoping that they incorporate some fantasy, like keeping Magic, chocobos, moogles, etc.

I am also hoping for REAL towns, REAL NPCs, lots of exploration and sidequests.
