Does Squall have any heart at all?

I've just started playing FFVIII and when I found that Quistis was demoted, I felt so sorry for her and Suall just stood there. It's like he doesn't care. Why on earth does everyone like him when he has a cold heart. I would punch him if he ddin't care about me, I would have nothing to do with him.

You mean Squall? Yeah He's pretty selfish at the start of the game. Try playing through the whole game and you'll see why everyone likes him...

He's practically one of the only normal people in the game tbh. He just wants to live a simple life without interruptions and drama.

Hes a teen, moody and wants to be alone. Play the game more, youre only bout 40 minutes even that, into the game. Play more and youll see how his character develops.
 
Have you even played the entire game before? You can't judge a character until you've finished the game. He is by far my favorite male character because he is the most realistic, and he matures and develops so much throughout the game. Keep playin and you'll see why everyone likes him.
 
Squall has a heart. He is just a loner, as it was stated in the booklet that came with the game, also explained within his actions. As SapphireStar said, he was a moody teen, and the developers probably made him that way to appeal to fans at the time. He had a heart, as he went great lengths for Rinoa during the events of the game. Play the game some more and you will see that he isn't completely heartless at all, or if you already did, consider some of his actions and reevaluate him.
 
Saying Squall has no heart is:

like saying Aerith
lives on throughout the game
or

like saying Zidane
equals Vaan as he serves no purpose in the story
or

like saying Vaan
will get less annoying
or

like saying Serah
is confirmed to be dead

just drawing out some random parallels :P

play the game till the end :) You will enjoy it for sure, and appreciate Squall more :D
 
I knew a guy called Suall once, a good dude, but he snapped and went to live in tasmania.........

Sqaull,the A-typical Introvert is not intentionally heartless he just has a deep seeded believe in not being reliant on people, and he believe this to a fault and some people
find this to be the sign of an uncaring person.

Which is wrong he merely has a different view point and holds to it, thats why he has such a hard time later in game when he discovers different way to be and says goodbye to most of his old ways and stigmas.

besides who would'nt tell Quistis to go talk to a wall.........

I never finished the game but i think he gains a heart as the game goes on. He changes his personality ( i think)

no no no

that's just a fan-theory (a cleverly thought out one too). Although it sounds credible and interesting, no matter what, it's a fan theory, like the Rinoa=Ultimecia fan-theory. The officials did not actually say that events after disc 2 is Squall's dream.

Most people only think that a fact is true after Square confirms that it is. Don't create confusion here or else the fan theory will become a rumour >_>

Well, i'm pretty sure everyone has a heart.. or you wouldn't be alive....

smartass remark aside, yes Squall has a heart. He's suppose to be the loner/anti-social type of guy anyways. It's what sets the characters apart from one another. While I don't particulary like Squall all that much (at the begninng) I know that somewhere he has one XD.

Just finish through the game and decide then =]
 
hey was born an orphan and now has most his memories of childhood washed away, you will learn more about this as you play, so he has quite a bit of self conflict at the beginning but as the game plays on and he begins to understand things again you will see he has a heart. continue playing this will be one of the best ff experiences you have in the series.

Yes, but he wasnt born an orphen is what Im saying. Thats what you said. He wasnt born one, but when his father couldnt be located, then he was placed into the orphanage.
 
About the dream idea, I kinda agree with that being how the game goes. It looks very possible, others may not agree with it, but I feel that it looks accurate and credible.

Onto the topic at hand, yes Squall does have a heart. Don't throw judgments out there if you have never finished the game, you will learn through the game that Squall actually does care about other people.
 
The whole dream thing is something fans thought up once there was no more story to discuss i dont think it's true.
