So when did is become so easy to be so shitty to each other?

I'm a pretty passive person as attitudes and stances go. I'm not much of a drinker or a smoker (of any substances) but I don't run around ramming my beliefs down anyone's throat. I haven't really picked a religion and I have a child with a girl, that I'm still with, and haven't married. I go with the flow and treat people the way I BELIEVE the should be treated. How much easier is it to treat someone like a lump of crap? Why can't we just break the cycle the keeps continuing on? Is the number of decent people in the world on the decline?

Take this for what ever you may but doesn't it bother people enough when they're treated like crap to not do so to another person. I'll try to even narrow the variables.

Now lets say the person you are is an accumulation of your life experiences. You grew up learning from your parents and who they chose to expose you to, then head of to school to broaden your horizon and finally, become a "grown up" and pick the people whom you see. So let's say that you grew up in a negative environment, why would you further subject yourself to all of that. I've been around some pretty crappy situations, that really don't need to be delved into, and have chosen to make my life as I please it, or as close as I can.

I guess, more then anything, I don't understand why we subject each other to the BS. I've barely even been at the site that long and have seen small amounts of bickering amongst one another, there's a certain topic (of which every one knows), that can't even be discussed on the site. Are we not grown up enough or maybe the sense of equality allows us to believe we're on an even playing field and that we can punk each other unlike in our real lives. I don't know...

And I don't claim to know anything beyond the fact that we've all come here for the love of the same thing, so why not enjoy and respect the company of our, lets face it, fellow nerds.

Rant incomplete, but I'll stop going because I'm wasting my time trying to change the world on FFF XD Just thought I'd vent to people, who I believe, are at a much higher intelligence then other places this misplaced rant may land.

Oh, and I was hoping we could all share views on why some people suck and why some people have to be sucky to those who generally like the same thing...

That topic got created and recreated so many times it got beyond a joke, so we gave up on it when people couldn't discuss it without resorting to petty arguments and shit. You've no idea how hard it was managing that thread so we just gave up, if people can't discuss shit like responsible adults, then they don't discuss it at all, it was a nightmare

Mankind has always been full of twatstards that make other peoples lives a misery. The only difference now is that, with the birth of the internet forums, weak and puny kids that would be beaten to a pulp in real life are now safe to become the bastards they always wanted to be.

I think most people realise somewhere down the line that the world is not how they were brought up to believe it to be. Crossroads are met and you realise that you are going to die and need to live your life now. Some people choose to mess about with people and not to have patience with others in certain situations because it's their life and they don't want anyone else treading on it. That's not quite how I am, but I can understand that logic. Quite a few people I know are like this.

The internet is full of crap because there are a lot of crap people out there. Everyone holds different views and some can be quite passionate about them. While it would be good for everyone to accept others views and agree to be different, you can see that that isn't going to happen easily. Different views are often on the extremely different sides of the scale and some people feel strongly that the other persons view is wrong and a disgrace etc. Some people will fight it out until their view "wins".. Until someone else who holds the other view comes back and revives the thread... And then gets a bashing... Then a few others revive the thread and get a bashing... Etc etc.

Quite a few threads have gone like that, but I don't think it is an issue with this forum exactly. It isn't set out to be like that at all, in fact the moderators do a good job at telling people not to do this, even banning talk about the LTD because some silly people nearly killed each other over it. . I guess what you could say is that the only reason things are like this is because we are given the option to debate on certain matters. We are allowed to make threads about serious issues and start debates. This is more than just an FF forum in that we are allowed to have these serious non-FF discussions. We should be glad we're given this freedom.

On the most part they can go quite well (most people are fine), but occassionally someone will misread someone else and the discussion will get heated. Just the other day a thread I made unintentionally got a little bit heated and I was quite embarrassed that something I had made had caused so much pain , but then it calmed down when they realised it was a misunderstanding.

The internet has a curse in that we can misjudge the tone of another person, which can lead a topic that was going fine and civil into a brawl pit of death, and a lot of blood.

I'll keep this short.

Everyone is a cynic unfortunately including myself but it is up to that person to have some self control and not mutter their distaste for their brotheran, or sister. My path in life has lead me this way and that.. I have much to tell, but I rather just keep it all relative to the topic.

Like me I'm quick to judge people based on music. I'm sorry I can't help it and I have tried. It is just because people don't have depth in music, and I should perceive that as "Okay" but I don't. It doesn't make me an expert on music, but if someone likes a certain thing.. just because someone else does, I want to backhand them into the next millennium.

The problem is people act fake to get ahead with their life, and it takes many loop holes to get a hard working job. Including those loop holes is belittling friends you've had since you were an infant. If you are not above that, then one day you will put yourself in a void of emptiness.

As soon as people get to where they are in life, they will act exactly how they have always wanted to, which means they will become the little kid with the magnifying glass, criticizing and trying rectify what he or she sees fit.

My view is this. We are all one (not in a hippy sense) and we all need eachother. You ask yourself then why are there people who are mentally ill and so on, because it is all for the bigger picture. To choose to belittle your fellow piers, is to devolve the generation even further. It is different if you are just clowning on a friend, because ya'll are homies, but if you are really going out of your way to slam someone and you know it will do them harm. Then you sir/ma'am have no sense of effin self control.

My view on such a topic is slightly skewed so please try to understand such logic.

Many people who tend to bash others abotu smoking, drinking, religion, music, whatever the bashing may be for. They do it because (weather thry admit it or not) they fear such things and believe that by bashing such topics and ideas the way they do, said topic will just vanish.

I don't like comfrontation, I don't really care if anyone calls me a pussy or nansy boy or whatever they want. I try to keep peace in my life and possibly in the life of others. Why you may ask. Well the answer is quite simple. Life is shitty mainly because of jackasses that shove various bullshitted topics down your throat hoping you'll join them in the act. By keeping a peaceful and simple life, you eliminate such things. Don't reataliate unless absolutley needed to.

As for all the hate the world has to offer. Let them offer it. People used to atrosishly detest black people as citizens. Now we have a president who is black. We used to have witch trials for not believing in god. Now we have a multi-religious country. In time, and you can call me the dumbest person ever, but there will be world peace. Just give it time.

Long story short. Pople bash because their scared that the world they live in, is the one that will become what they detest. Ignore it and all such things will disolve into the river of time.

I've actually had this general debate with others about people and how they are on the internet. Even as local as this website's Shoutbox, there can be some unnecessary insulting of others. And when someone gets offended and speaks up to a staff member, the general excuse is "it's the internet, it doesn't mean anything." Maybe it's just me being a little older than the general crowd here, but I see an insult as an insult, whether it's done in front of someone or behind a monitor. I'll admit that I've lost my cool at times because I felt insulted by what was said, but in general I prefer to take the civil route. I prefer for people to be loose and joking and enjoying a conversation rather than being tense and angry. But for some reason, people tend to enjoy seeing someone get angry. Again, I'm not exactly sure why this is.

And yes, I suppose we all grow tired of having opinions shoved down our throats. I've had my favorite games/characters get bashed by others on this site, as I'm sure everyone has. Of all the FF's I've played, I like them all. Sure, I can find holes in every one including my own, but I don't see a reason to tell someone that my favorite game is better. Actually it's funny, I can think of moments when someone would say that it's FACT that their favorite is better than the others. I've actually fallen into the trap of arguing with this individual about it, but when all is said and done, they will like what they like and I will like what I like. I suppose we wouldn't have a debate forum here if everyone agreed with everything. And even though I tend to post in this area of the forum more than any other, I'm well aware that I cannot change the opinion of others. And given it's over the internet, we will be even less convincing.

I guess what I'm saying is, I take the civil route because there will always be people out there who think they know better. It's easier and makes for less effort to just turn the cheek and leave it alone.

It's always been easy for me to be a jackass to just about anyone. I'm impatient when it comes to people. Seriously, I can't stand many people. I was always taught to look out for myself, and I've just been raised under the pretence that most people are ignorant.

I lie to people, I enjoy manipulating people, and I'm quite the accomplished liar. I've had people stab me in the back many a time, and now I don't trust just about anyone.

The only person that I'm nice to is my Girlfriend.

I view people as stupid. You can blame that on society if you want. I see the world in a completely different light than most others do.

Judge me if you want, call me what you will, it's not like your opinion matters.

Now, I'm as nice as I can be to people at first, but once I see enough stupidity coming from one person, I start hating them. As far as I'm concerned, I'm not the one with the problem. People are the problem.

Bring up a certain subject and they go crazy, I love watching peoples reactions to certain things. I love how predictable they are once second, and how unpredictable they are the next.

Anyway, I'm rambling, I think I'll take my leave.

well i totally hate ppl that perposely be jackasses. y cant ppl be modest? who cares anymore, making fun of someone for whome they are...if u dislike someone for what they r then y do have to try to make them feel like crap for being themeslfs? we all have differences and if we were all the same the world would be one boooooooooring place.

And if u dont believe somone for something y press it? let them live their lie. i dont see y u would want to anger them to the point of making them totally pissed off to the point that they hate the other person. y in the world would u keep bringing that thaught that up? if they r lying big deal what do u care?

and then there r ppl that insult ppl like me for dressing strange and listening to the music we listen to. Sure, we complain alot (like i am now) but at some point we all complain, in our case we let it out more often that the average person, and u insult us for being who we are...

a few times i have even contemplated leaving this forum site for the jackasses that r here, and nothing gets done about them, they just give shit and get praised, what has become of the society we live in? does causing pain really create so much preasure?

say someone is like me...hard to get a gf...cant play guitar well...daddy issues...something u may not have known, but a sufferer of chronic depression...and u go and insult and offend us for having these issues? do u rly think we have no life? do u rly think we have no talent? i hapen to be an excellent writer, its my favorite hobby. yet u insist on making us feel like we suck at what we r good at as well...Y?
