During their press conference at the Tokyo Game Show, Sony revealed that Final Fantasy VIII is now available to download on the Japanese Playstation Store. The classic RPG was first released on the Playstation in 1999. It will be joining Final Fantasy VII as a digital download for the Playstation 3 and PSP.

No words yet or when can we expect Final Fantasy VIII to show up on the North American or European Playstation Store, but chances are it will ;P

I imagine it to be like FFVII so it'll be the same as the original, though I always felt uncomfortable playing VII on the PS3 so I transferred it to the PSP :gasp:
 
Oh that is awesome I hope it comes here on psn or else that would totally suck if it did not. So they are doing re releases for all till IX right? So that leaves Final Fantasy IX left.
 
Due to the success of FFVII on PSN in western markets I'd imagine FFVIII to be released over here as well. I don't think it'll do as well as FFVII obviously, but it'd still be successful. FFIX better come out though >.>
 
What, but I thought FFVIII was already available for PSN download in Japan o_O

I wonder if this will gear FFVIII over to North America and Europe? :ness:
 
Hmm, I may end up buying this again cause i'm losing space on my ps1 memory cards. One no longer works so I may just buy it to play on the big screen. A nice 72 inch wide screen to play it on. Or if I can find something I can bare to erase on my ps1 cards.
 
I think this means I'll need to buy an even bigger PSP memory stick. I hope they bring it out in Europe, I'd buy it for sure.

I hope FFIX is announced soon too :yay:

I agree with you about FFIX also, it would be completely awesome to be able to play that on the PSP, same with FFVIII. I really hope they bring it over here, I really cant see a reason why they wouldn't.
 
That's pretty cool, even though I own FFVII, VIII and IX for the PSONE, I am really considering on downloading VII,and when VIII becomes available to do the same
 
That's good to hear. My original Final Fantasy VIII had a scratched disk which meant it crashed in both the Balamb VS Galbadia and Lunar Cry scenes. It shouldn't be a problem once downloaded. I think I'll transfer it to the PSP when it does come.
