Love Beyond Friendship: A Cloti Club

I always figured that mako added a glow to the natural eye colour, so maybe her dark red eyes would instead just glow more xD

'Cause it would be weird to see Tifa with blue/green eyes O.O

I thought maybe it had to do with Jenova cells, but Zack didn't get injected with the Jenova cells, right? Or if he did, he rejected them or something, so it probably is the mako injections that all who enter into SOLDIER get, even if they end up being a low rank foot soldier like Cloud

Is mako a liquid or just pure energy that tangible to human hands? 'Cause Tifa probably, I dunno, took some from her mouth or nose when she inhaled...maybe...I dunno >_<

It's the Mako infusion. Presumably, Tifa would have glowed a bit after Mideel, but it's not casually noticable in normal viewing, since our best examples of mako showerees are not openly glowing all the time.

And mako is a liquid. At least after extrusion. It can crystalize into a solid and move like one at times as well, much like magma.

So sorry for the late posting everyone! The writing craze has just gotten a hold of me and I'm spending most of my time writing. :) Thanks for the help on the naming of the spiky-haired offspring. I really needed the help!

Allow me to answer a question or two before I join the discussion at hand.

Haha, np..names is one of the hardest things ever..especially with kids. I am completely guilty of being one of those people who, when reading a book, will stop and go...'well wtf were you on when you named that kid? You're supposed to let the pain killers wear off FIRST.' (Harry Potter anyone?) heh...

Anyway, what's your fic called?

Oi, but keep in mind that while some names are perfectly mundane in some countries are utterly obscure in others. But I know exactly what you mean.

Oh, and my fic has a very boring title: "After AC". I know, I couldn't come up with anything else, but the title is accurate since it begins directly after the movie ends. It's in the writers boulevard, in the fanfiction section if you were interested.

Hey DM, how ya been?

I'm utterly frabjous, my good man! Especially now that this club has the added benefit of your membership. I won't lie: I've considered you to be the ultimate weapon against Clerith rabidness on the internets for a long time. I applaud you. *clap*

Aside from that, how have you been faring? It's been such a long time since I've had a chance to talk to you, being harassed by RL stuff. So please, tell me of your exploits!

Such a waste, DM. No smut...

Goodness, man, restrain yourself! This is, after all, a forum that has young members. We wouldn't want to expose them to anything, now would we?

To be truthful, smut simply isn't within my writing skills. I try to do more with my writing than describe porno, which a surprising amount of Cloti fanfics consist of. So I'm sorry. No smut for you. But sappy romance stuff? Ah, I'm good at that. And writing stuff that's acutely embarrassing for the characters. It's a skill.

In any case, relating to the actual topic at hand, I don't believe Cloud would age any faster or slower than Tifa. If anything, he's a completely normal man without a thing to change his cells. Remember, any traces of Jenova were dissolved by the water in AC. Other than having a slightly higher magicka content than the average human, I think he'd age normally.

Well, that, and the fact that he's probably imbude with a little more energy NOT regarding to magicka, but that would only ensure that he'd age nicely! But age nonetheless.

As for why Tifa didn't get the mako-eyes and her own dose of memory loss from her dive in the Lifestream, I think the answer is fairly simple: I believe Aerith shielded her from the worst of it.

It's very likely that Aerith, a powerful spirit already in the Lifestream at this point of the game, had no way of protecting Cloud in a similar manner because when he went head first into the green goo, he was right at the Septhiroth-epicenter. I think it's more than likely that Sephiroth, by drawing upon the massive amount of energy to use the black materia and creating the barrier over the crater, effectively blocked Aerith out. Even if Aerith HAD been able to reach Cloud when he went into the Lifestream, she had just recently died! I believe she'd take a little time adjusting before being able to fully use her limited 'abilities' in the Lifestream.

When Tifa went in the lifestream at Mideel, however, Aerith had been dead for quite a while, enough time for her spirit to adjust. Sensing that her good friend was in danger, she probably intervened, preventing thousands of memories being crammed into Tifa's brain. This would explain why Aerith never appeared during that scene in the Lifestream--she certainly could have if she wanted, but she was probably kept too busy shielding the two to do so.

In any case, that's my hypothesis. What do ya'll think?

Thankee much. Though I owe as much to the citations as I do to anything else.

WRT the LTD, not much to tell. It seems they're in full retreat mode, even over at TNC. Largely, it seems to be several people trying to explain why concluding that Aerith is light makes jack all sense, and various other largely absurd claims. I'm also waiting for ACC and the new OTWTAS novellas to parse them for recurring themes and such.

Better by us in the safety of the forum than on the wider internets where any tom, dick, or triple breasted whore of eroticon 7 might shatter their fresh, malleable minds.

Well, Sturgeon's law for fanfics- 90% is either or both crap or pornographic.

There might be something from high mako exposure, but there's no reason to believe it slows the agin process. There is reason to (snarkily) conclude it enhances secondary sexual characteristics temporarily, but that's just me being silly.

I'm waiting to see if Maiden is further contravened by Case of Lifestream. It generally seems novella non grata, warranting no mention in any of the CC Ulti, 10th Ani Ulti, or 20th Ani Ulti FF7 section, even when it would be incredibly relevant, and when other post mortem actions are mentioned in the various timelines.

If Maiden is conclusively stricken, I'll go with my old theory, that Cloud reflexively drew Tifa in to protect her from the effects of the Mako, what with the whole 'hearts calling out to each other' referenced under the Highwind.

Hmm, Aerith protecting Tifa sounds like a very good theory indeed and explains why she wasn't present when they entered the Lifestream. Mind you, Aerith was always interested about the love triangle she got herself caught up into and probably wanted to protect Tifa because Cloud was unable to do, due to his weak state. She saw that he didn't want to lose another friend because it would drive him mad eventually and also that he deeply cared about her. So perhaps Aerith could play some role to why CloTi exists.

Come to think of it, I never thought of it that way before.

Yeah, maybe Aeris thought "ok I'm already dead so why not make those two happy?" or something XD

I honestly never thought about an intervention from Aeris from the Lifestream to protect Tifa. That's kinda new, maybe because I don't remember the scene very well.

It's been years since I saw that scene as well. This could also provide a lighter version for our cause for CloTi. Many are known to be slating Aerith to not have any communication after she dies, but now that I think about it ... yeah.

I mentioned this in the Aerith/Tifa fanclub, but I'll say it here since the topic seems to be on this right now. After Tifa escapes from the gas chamber, a voice tells her to jump over the edge. I always thought that it was Aerith telling her that, and I have little reason to doubt it not's her.

As well, in AC, although it's not verbal, we see a water drop fall on Tifa's nose. It's likely seen as a coincidental water drop, but Tifa still recognizes it as Aerith and thanks her for watching over them.

...Oh wait, why does it matter Aerith interacts with other people? I'm confused now O.O

Anyways, here's another Cloud/Tifa image to stay on topic :P

It's the sarcasm that really drives it home, though. You've a special talent.

Well, with you at the forefront of the CxT attack, is it any wonder they're in full retreat? xD And it's not like they've ever truly had a very solid base to go on... I mean, some try very hard not to go into necrophilia, but it's just not enough. Somehow, it generally goes that physical relationships end when half the party dies.

But that's just me. :P

I can't wait for ACC. I wanna see more of the other chars for a change.

Touche.

Well, Sturgeon's law for fanfics- 90% is either or both crap or pornographic.

Which is druther ironic: I wrote my fanfic to specifically counter that idea. I mean, come on--these things could be really entertaining stories, but end up being a one-sided rant on the LTD. My whole goal is to do the completely opposite thing. So pha! I'm part of the 10%. *evil grin* Otherwise, I'd NEVER had posted it. And that's the truth.

If Maiden is conclusively stricken, I'll go with my old theory, that Cloud reflexively drew Tifa in to protect her from the effects of the Mako, what with the whole 'hearts calling out to each other' referenced under the Highwind.

I still think that's a very viable idea; it seems to fit with the romantic mood of that part of the game.

:D I'm glad I could shed light on this matter! If anyone wants anymore radical ideas from me, feel free to ask! lol

awesome pic, fusionist! That's really well done...

Here's one I found.

I'd love to hear your radical ideas, DM. I'm always up to listening to theories, even if they are wacky. And aww, that's a really cute pic! I could visualise that being after AC and they spend time together on a field away from everyone else, possibly the field that Cloud drives through on the AC credits.

Awesome pics! The first one is lovely :D

And I definetly need to play FFVII again. I didn't remember Tifa was told to jump by a "mysterious" voice after she escaped the chamber (all I can remember is Tifa slapping Scarlet in the face :wacky:)

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww.... Cloud and Tifa... <33

Can I join?! O.O

welcome!
anybody else is exited about AC complete? I read an interview that they added a climatic scene from the 20 minutes original short film and we know that Cloud Tifa and the children were the only characters in it... it can be a Cloti scene don't you think?

Welcome LockheartAvenue. Wow, I adore your signature.

Well, yes of course :neomon:. I think I've heard of this somewhere, but I've not read or seen the interview myself. I would love a cloti scene.

Wow really? Awesome! XD Any else seen the new acc trailer? theres a scene where cloud speaks to marlene. I havent a clue what they say because its in japanese >.<!!!
The more cloti scene the better! XD when is it going to be released in japan?

I think ACC is definitely making Cloud seem more like a paternal figure than he originally was in AC. I saw an image of Denzel asleep/unconscious against Cloud's back, and there's the aforementioned consoling Marlene scene as well.

I'm hoping for more Cloud/Tifa-esque scenes of course, but I think the movie is centred around the theme of family, so that'll be more paramount than not.

Wow, guys! I haven't been here in ages. :neomon: I'll be posting more often now, though.

Anyway,
In ACC I'd love to see Cloud shyly taking Tifa's hand and holding it. I'm pretty sure that's too much of a stretch, but if it happened I think I'd melt a bit inside. Or maybe, a CT hug? :tighthug:

Holding hands would be nice. If they show a scene with Tifa and Cloud on the bike, it would be lulzy and cute if he's blushing just a little bit when she has her arms around his stomach :P
