Some FFF rep system questions

lol Thanks Busta. Yea, that was my thought process. I guess sometimes I'm bad at explaining what I'm thinking... but yes, that's exactly the breakdown. And that should be the breakdown for all members. As for mods though, I'm not sure what the starting points are... it probably throws that off by quite a bit.

Registration Date, Post Count and Reputation Points received all play a part in Rep Power. Not sure about the Usergroup being a factor though.

I think it's just the "starting Rep Power" though. Once I got my Rep Power of 4 when the system was implemented, I only went up because of Rep Points. However, if you were on staff at the time, I'm sure it was maybe 1 or 2 higher, maybe. I can't say for sure.

I know before I was gone from the site for a while, I was number 3 on the Post list. Only Riku and Rhea were ahead of me with Mark and Aztec right behind me at number 4 and 5. So we were all around the same number, but Mark is Jr. Admin and is well ahead of me in posting now as is Riku, so there's would have started higher than my Rep Power of 4.

The rep system is kind of confusing. I am at rep power 5 now hom much would I need to get to a rep power of 6? How much points do u need to get to 10. Also do mods, admins and g mods start at 10?

Admins and junior admins start at 10 because it's a set rep number so that can't go higher or lower unless Mits or Bei set it to a different number. Mods and GMods don't start at 10 though because I only had 5/6 when on staff 'til being a junior admin.

Actually for some reason, Admins/Junior Admins are set strictly to 10. Our rep power won't even go up even though it should have been higher by now, but it's still fixed at 10. I checked the ACP a few times already and I can't change anyone's rep power, so that's out of the question. LG will have to do that since he's the only one who has access to vBulletin Options. We can only do so much in the Reputation category as we have set limitations.

Mits/Bei do as they can access them through the ACP and change the names of the rep levels (I think), increase/descrease how much rep you need for them and set their own rep levels...I thiiiink.

This we can do. But we can't do anything related to the 'power'.

Isn't there a tread somewhere explaining all this somewhere? If not there should be. Its the same Q&A's over and over again and it gets abit old -_-

Has anyone sent LG a PM yet to answer the questions no one else can? xD

After we get all of thisi straightened out, we can work on adding another info thread to Information Compendium.

Okay, everyone - LG has come back to us with the information about the limitations and the workings of the reputation system.

+ There is an option to change how much reputation you can see in your User CP - only LG can alter this and I've asked him to extend it for us. We're just waiting on word back from him about that, now.

+ You gain one point of reputation power for every 365 days of registration (1 year = 1 point).

+ You gain one point of reputation power for every 1000 posts (1000 posts = 1 point).

+ You must have 50 posts before your reputation power has an effect on other members.

+ We can (currently) only rep 8 people in a 24-hour period (though Administrators are exempt from this).

+ You must rep 10 people before repping the same user again (i.e. if I repped BustaMo, I'd have to rep another 10 people before coming back to him; again, Administrators are exempt from this limit).

-------------

That should be all. Last I checked, the staff were discussing changes for the reputation descriptions ("spectacular aura about" etc) but I've not been on for a few days, so I don't know where we are with that. I'll investigate then (get someone to) report back.

If any of the above is unclear, just ask and we'll try to explain it more clearly.
