Playstation Spyro the Dragon and Crash Bandicoot

Spyro ... solving puzzles at age 7 is a bitch. -__-

Crash Bandicoot was a bloody legend. I think Warped was the best of the games, but the Egyptian levels really pecked at my tits. It was so frustrating to have about 50 lives and lose them all in the same way at the same point in the same bloody level.

Good games, though.

Oh Gods, the Egyptian levels sucked. The ENORMOUS pit that you needed like a triple jump to get across and step on the one-Crash-foot-large border piece jutting out in order to get ready for the NEXT triple jump. Then the mummies and the spears...

I found the airplane levels also particularly difficult. And the ones with the Jet Ski.

DINGODILE. He ruled. So did Tiny :P And Ripper Roo with his monocle XD

Aside from the bosses, I didn't find Spyro all that difficult :P I like the abilities in Ripto's Rage and the ninja level in Year of the Dragon. You know, the one with the portal in that underwater cave? :P

Ah, I remember these games. Playing Crash Bandicoot is one of my fondest memories of the PS1, especially the second instalment that took me aaages to complete. :monster:

I didn't really go much on Spyro but I do remember watching a friend play it and I think I had a demo of the second one...

i have had alot of the crash games and love them, my favorite levels are definately when you ride either the lil tiger cub or teh Polar bear as they are amazingly cute and lots of fun,
i did have a spyro game but it didn't really take my fancy as i was very young and couldn't solve any of the problems so i gave up on it, Croc: legend of the Gobbo's is another game that i had that was of a similar nature to Spyro and Crash

Ahhh, yes, how I loved Crash Bandicoot as child. I do remember once cosplaying as him for a thingy at school when I was like 8. Good times.

Ohhh, I loved the Egyptian levels, my favourites by far. But, my favourite level had to be the one in the third game, you know that secret room on a giant volcanoe, and you're on the jet-ski. That was cool.

Yet, I was very dissapointed when Twinsanity came out. It was rather shit, and they made it so immature that not even 5 year olds would find it cool. I was not happy -_-

Crash fan right here! I loved Crash Bandicoot 2 and 3, oh and Crash Team Racing was THA SHIT! I wasn't that big a fan of Spyro though, I only had the first one and gave up on it because it was too hard or something.

I never liked Spyro, everytime I tried jumping on a ledge I missed because I misjudged the....well, everything really >_>

I was still far to used to the left - right shizz, still miss that <_<

I did like Crash though although I had my moments with it. Landing on something that would have been easily avoidable if it was 2D really fucked me off. But that's just me. Old dogs, new tricks. I won't really play any game like that anymore now...

Anyway, I preferred Crash over Spyro, I fucking hated that purple little bastard

Crash Bandicoot was good. I have the original games, including Crash Team Racing, and the Mario Party Equivalent, Crash Bash. The Wrath of Cortex was the beginning of the series' downfall and Twinsanity and it's later games proved my point.

Never cared about Spyro.

I had them both the same Christmas.

I gave up pretty fast on Crash Bandicoot as my reaction skills were not as fine-tuned as they are now.

Spyro I found easy and beat it pretty fast. I also never got every jewel, having missed one.

Spyro frustrated me a bit though, trying to get into Gnasty Gnorc's treasure room. I used to pronounced the "G"s in his name alllll the time, and my parents laughed at me. XD Whenever I couldn't do levels on either game, I got Mom or Dad to help. :P

The first three Spyros were the best platformers of all time, IMO. Especially 1 & 2. I like Crash Bandicoot, but the levels are rather formulaic...

G-nasty G-norc is the only way to say it! you have to pronounce the "g" i always used to say it like that, the bit i got stuck on was chasing him around his area, always fell into the lava and that sucks! never really liked crash bandicoot, loved crash team racing though... if only therecing...

I'm going with Crash Bandicoot based on the whole series since I've played them ever since I was a wee little laddie. I'm not really one for free roaming games really, whilst in some aspects and certain games that's great Spyro didn't really strike me as one of those games...plus at 6/7 years old at least in Crash there was only one way to go...I think.

Plus Spyro seems to have less 'quality' games than Crash although they are still very good. :neomon:

Well I grew up more on Spyro then I did Crash Bandicoot (Ive only played the first 3). But to be honest I thought Spyro was a lot more fun as a kid, but for its simplicity. I love everything about the first 3 games for spyro. I don't get the new 'famous voice actors' and super kong fu like abilities and the 'unleash the dragon!' style, I think it has ruined Spryo. It was all about, like family fun, find some gems, maybe some orbs or eggs, solve the odd puzzle, it was fun and thats what made the game great. Crash on the other hand I couldn't really get into, not my sort of game and still not the sort of game I'd play. I'm actually collecting all the Spyro games cause there so great.
Spyro all the way

i love the spyro games, especially 2 and 3, im not really a big fan of 1. ive sort of gone off them with 'the legend of spyro' series as it is so much of change from the original games.

ive never really been a big fan of the crash bandicoot games, they just dont appeal to me

I'm not a huge fan of Spyro but I liked Spyro 2. I prefer Crash, my favourite is Twinsanity.

I loved these games, although I kinda of lost intrest when they moved to PS2 for some reason. I might pick them up sometime.

Same... Though I have played some of them

Crash: Wrath of Cortex was an ok game but what go me with that was that Crunch was the boss for every level... Where were all the other awesome Crash villains? They acted as normal enemies in maps!

But some of the game levels (particulary the ball maze levels), and playing as Coco was quite fun too.

Crash Nitro Kart.... Good because it was a racing game for Crash on the PS2. Bad because it didn't have as many Crash characters as Crash Team Racing did.... CNK focused more on alien planets and alien racers than it did Crash characters, sadly.

Crash of the Titans - I don't actually class this as part of the series... It was a fun game and everything, but I consider it more a spin-off than a real Crash game. It didn't do Crash things. It didn't feel like Crash. But it was still fun to play, and the 2 player mode was great. Hated what they did to Tiny Tiger though! :holyshit:

Haven't played any of the other PS2 crashes...

In regards to Spyro I only played the first (and loved it)... I played demo's of a few more... but that was the end of my time with Spyro. No reason for this, I just never got round to buying any more Spyro games...

I played both of these when I was younger, and I really loved them. I'll still pick up Spyro and play it with my little sister sometimes, since she loves it, and my younger brother loves Crash, so I still help them out with both of these games. Personally, they're not really... well, the stories don't pull me in now, which is why I play FF, of course. But for younger kids, they're wonderful :D

I always liked Spyro better, but did anyone else play the game where they joined forces? :D
