''Restores HP and MP
If you ask a save moogle,
he will restore everyones HP & MP''

So WHY have I just used a tent and it only restored A BIT of everyones HP? Do they not work the same way no mrore? I don't see it saying '...he will restore SOME OF everyones HP & MP'' -__-

What's the bloody point in that?!

Not only did I use one thinking it would revive two dead idiots, it didn't fully restore the HP of the other two people D:

Edit* It didn't restore all the mp either D: Godamit and I need to HEAL because the stupid tent only did half a job in the first place >_>

that somtimes happens i found! i think it may just be a glitch! 2 tents usaly do the trick though!

It's not a glitch. It was probably put in to make it a tiny bit more difficult for you. I.e. so you can't just use a tent when you're a little low on HP and be right back to full.

I hate it when this happens, I dont remember but another final fantasy does this and it aggravated me just as bad as XI's tents did. :wacky:

They cost to much for me to be using 2 and I only had 2 to start with D:

It's a stupid idea, tents were always expensive anyway, so I have never had all that many of them D: Or maybe I'm just stingy >_>

Your not stingy, I hate how exspensive tents are too. I mean later in the game when you can get a lot more gil than its no big deal but early on when you need something to heal you all the way, its just not worth it. If I remember right I really stock piled potions, I think they were cheap in IX, and that was how I stayed alive most of the time.

I'm sorry the game doesn't hold your hand =P
But are you a bad enough dude to only take 1 tent with you whilst walking around the overworld? Badass.
Seriously, stock up on tents and shit.

You can use tents in battle. If I'm not mistaken, they fully heal everyone's HP and MP BUT they also have a chance of inflicting poison, silence and blind. This can also work in your favour however. If you're up against a boss who doesn't have an immunity to the status effects, use one on it right at the start of the fight. It won't matter that it'll be fully healed and there's a chance it'll be poisoned/silenced/blinded.

Tents have a high probability to inflict you with negative status effects within battle, so it's ill advised unless it's a complete last resort - it heals substantial amounts if your luck holds out.

I'm constantly annoyed with the Tent situation. More often than not I'll head out of Gizamaluke Grotto and fight some Garudas [which as we all know, aren't 'due' as wild encounters until Oielvert], so I'll need to use a Tent after each battle to heal up, then head back out... oh, the frustration of having to use Ethers on Vivi, Freya and Quina!

Thankfully, 99 Potions are easily obtainable, and quite a lot of monsters have Hi-Potions and Ethers on hand to steal [the latter being kinda difficult to take], so it's not too much of a trouble if the Tents turn shit on me.

... still, it's annoying. :grumpy:

Well that's odd. I've never had this happen to me before, or in any Final Fantasy games. Tents would always always always fully heal my characters. I know because I've always checked right after I use tent. Just a habit, I guess. I'd like to think that yeah, it is a glitch, but Pooley does have a point too.

I didn't know you could use them in battle......it's rather shit that they can inflict bad status affects D:

Imagine the tantrum I would of had if I'd tried that before knowing....haha

Anyway, I already have over 50 potioons, so they should tide me over for a while, no Hi-Potions yet mind, but it'l do for now I guess. It's just the MP shizz that's gunna peck some serious head, I don't even HAVE any stinking ethers yet >=[

Where are you up to? You should have a handful of both up to/before Ice Cavern.

I think the point is to use Tents offensively in battle, as opposed to sating your self-curating needs. They could be used either way, but at a risk - you could get the opposite of what you hope for every time. I tried using a Tent offensively in a battle once, and it healed Gizamaluke by 3000HP... twice consecutively. -__-

That festival of the hunt thing is about to start, I have 2 tents and a stack of potions :monster:

... and you have... no Ethers? Have you not used the Steal command at all? xD There's no use in you getting Ethers etc for the Hunt, though you might want Hi-Potions - the monsters won't hit you very hard if you have the right equipment, but over time you'll rack up some damage. You'll also want to be as healthy as possible for the Zaghnol fight! Again, not that challenging, but you may need to survive for a long time if you want to steal both his items.

Yeah, thats a bastard, make sure you equip stuff that raises the spirit stat i think, if you want a good chance for stealing. Also wait until the person you want to win is leading with points if you want them to win the tournament, unless you wanna win it with Zidane, then just kill everything you see.

It's better to win the hunt with Freya as the accessory she wins is more useful at that point than 5000 gil.

Anyway, tents. As I said before, use them on enemies right at the start of battle then it won't matter if they're healed.

The Tent thing happens in most Final Fantasy's actually, particularly the ones that also have Cottages. It's quite annoying.
