The RP forums have been revamped and given it's own section, since it's expanding.

But we're currently in the process of moving stuff and adding the descriptions to the new sections, so you'll see some changes there pretty soon.

It's so great to have our own area. It doesn't feel so cramped anymore. xD

There will be lots of changes made in the area, so, bear with us, RPers. ^^

It's about time this section got looked at. I had enough problems trying to remember where everything was when I was the moderator.

It's good to know things are getting organised. So well done so far, peeps.

You guys can count on a more involved RP Section than ever before! We will have Tournaments, Contests, and a new addition called TRAINING! Yes! For people who want to RP, but aren't quite sure about how to do so, you can now come and learn! And do it the fun way, too!

Y'know, training is a really good idea to get them involved. I've always got people PMing me what to do. Maybe we could have a trainer-learner system. Like learners could be assigned to a trainer.

I'll have to check this out. I wanted to learn how to RP for quite some time now, but I've checked the roleplays and some just looks so darn confusing. =/ Perhaps if there's a simple RP for beginners (where profile bios can be lax enough, since I've only written one bio and it was pretty crappy), that would be great.

I've always found that practice makes perfect. No, seriously! It does.

A practice thread would be good ... I dunno, like a simple RP where people move about and chatter, etc. Like a high school or walking around the streets RP?

It could be like you just randomly post and someone interacts with you. You interact with them and so on.

Actually, that's exactly what we have in mind. ^^ "The Dojo" in "The Practitioners" was designed with the idea of having Mentors, who will provide lessons to less experienced RPers, and help to encourage them to become even better.

Edit: As for a basic RP, there will likely be a few of those implemented once we get 'The Dojo' up and running, especially since one of the areas that we want a Mentor to teach RPers, is interaction. In order to achieve that, Mentors might create simple RPs so their students can practice.

There's always been an area where people get 'trained' and ask for help. You just never encouraged people to participate in there.

Considering this is supposed to be a change for the better, why have descriptions just... not been included? Surely it's an essential factor for any sub-section of a forum to like... you know... let people know what it's all about? Could've planned that one better tbh.

You know, this might effect me. I occasionally enter an RP thread but I have no idea what to do ... and then, when I basically think it's making up a character and telling a story, I see all of these rules an' shite, I end up just leaving. :wacky:

I could've sworn the RP forums had their own sections all the time. :wacky:

The reason for that was timing. The new areas were created before we had finished typing up the descriptions and rules. Now all of the rules are posted, as well as the descriptions.

As for the training, there may have been an area for it before, but the new area is much larger, and will have different methods of training: mentors, NPC rentals, more tips, lessons, etc. The Training Area was created with the mind-set of training RPers for different areas of RPing, not just battling.

@Team Rocket: Once we have 'The Dojo' up and running, we'll have Mentors teaching many different areas, as well as creating a few more basic RPs, for RPers to just have some fun in, and practice.

Well, I did say that we would be adding descriptions in my first post, but some people just don't read.
That's my point; I didn't get why you'd go to the trouble of changing a complete structure and not having the relevant descriptions on hand. Meh, it just didn't make sense - but at least it's done now.

this really makes me slightly depressed.
I made a training RP, and it was popular.
Some learned from it, some did not.
Even though it is "buried" in the graveyard now.
NERP was a "test realm" of sorts. And a place where some of the members RP'ed for the first time.
What really annoys me, is that some of you acts like this was never avalible.

How can one say that, if one does not check ^^
*Sigh* This is behind us now though.
--------------------
The new "upgrade" really makes the RP section better in my opinion.
Some sub-forums need descriptions, but that is under progress.
Other then this, I assume it is mainly nitpicking here and there.

I really hope this will make the RP section more popular, then just us "regulars".

In any case, one thing that will never be faster I guess, is the character approval thing.
Even thought I know that an approved char is not needed for a ORPG or URPG. many of us prefers to have it double checked before we use them.
I am one of them at least.

Well, basically, it is looking good, and it will look better as it is "complete".

And I agree, it was about time.^^

I am very sorry if my comment offended you about the 'training area.' It's possible that I did not see it, as there are many things in the RP section that have been around for well over a year. Eitherway, I meant in no way to offend you, and simply wished to comment upon the upgrades that the new training area will have.

As for the bios, I came up with the idea for the 'Battle-Hardened' area, so that we can immediately move the approved bios to that sub-forum, so we know which bios still need to be approved. I apologize for any delays as of late, I've spent most of my time looking through all of the bios to see which ones were approved, so I could move them. I'm sorry I haven't gotten to approving your bio, I'll work on that right now.

Thank you for the support, I really hope the area becomes more popular as well. I will admit that the planning is a bit rushed on the area, but everything will soon be up and ready to go. Just bear with us for now, and keep offering more suggestions, so we can employ as many member-approved ideas as we can. ^^

No no no no.
Don't take me wrong, I was not offended by anyone, thought my wording might suggest otherwise.
I was mainly pinpoint out that I made a training RP for those that wished to enter.
Some did not, and now I see and indirect complain that we don't have any RP training areas.

Also, I was not pointing to my newest bio posted, thought I appreciate your quick response, I some what feel that I forced you to do that right away.,
If so, I'm sorry, I did not mean it like that.

And don't worry, if U have more ideas, I will be sire to post them, or nag at Hera about them. In either case you will hear about them ^^

Where will we be signing up to be a trainer, when (if) it comes to that (I hope- I love introducing new people to the RP scenario)?

Yeah, we have a Mentor Sign-Up Thread ready. If you want to be a mentor, just put in your application there :monster: We have an application set up for you on the first page.
