In the past couple of months, Jamie Lynn Spears announced she was pregnant, nude photos of Vanessa Hudgens surfaced, and Miley Cyrus posed in an "embarassing" photo shoot for Vanity. Is anybody else upset about the example these stars are setting for today's teenage girls?

Jamie Lynn had her own show Zoey 101 on Nick, and I know tons of younger girls who watched it and looked up to her. Now, at only the age of 16, she's pregnant. What type of example does that set for all of her fans? Vanessa Hudgens is the star of one of the most popular movies ever to grace Disney Channel and now even she has been caught doing something scandalous. Miley Cyrus, who has a budding career and a huge fan-base, is caught 1st: In a photo on an unidentified man's lap with her top off. and 2nd: Posing in a photo shoot for Vanity with nothing but a bedsheet to cover her.

We see stars get caught doing stupid things all of the time, but I'm just so suprised that 3 girls who are all in their teens have been caught doing these things almost simultaneously. And on top of that, all three of them have shows on channels that are meant to entertain kids in their pre-teens.

Thoughts?

And in case you haven't seen the new picture of Miley, here's the link:

It doesn't upset me. People care too much about celebrities.

People do stupid things. Spears isn't the first teenager to get knocked up...and she won't be the last. I don't think you can blame these spoiled, rich brats for corrupting our youth. They're still kids themselves.

I've seen a special on kids/teens stars. This isn't the first time that has happened. Drew Barrymore was a teen star. At the age 10 she started drinking and she went downhill from there. She was in rehab at the age 13 and 14. (Well, she has recovered.)

Michael Jackson is another example. Also Lindsay Lohan, the Olsen sisters, and Britney Spears are all over the tabloids.

Some believe that the parents are to blame. Parents are so amazed by their child's talent that use their kids as a break through in life. "Oh wow! My kid is making millions! I need to keep signing him/her up for more auditions!" Parents start pressuring their kids and start depending on them for their fame. Some of these parents use their kids to gain fame since they couldn't as a child. Obliviously, this messes up the child as they grow up and come to realize what their parents are doing, and what kind of world they're living in. As these child stars get older, as you can see they start doing drugs and get into trouble.

Good lord, she looks like she gained five pounds. Gross picture is gross.

Um, anyway, I really could care less about the situation. If your child is delusional and stupid enough to idolize every stupid teenage actress they see on Nickelodeon or Disney, you're not raising them right in the first place. Any parent with half a brain is going to raise their children to not pay attention to that stuff, or at least not idolize it. Soooo I say if kids are dumb enough to follow all that and try to copy their favorite sluts *cough* I mean stars, then let them screw themselves over. Same goes for all these young actresses, too. Most of it is all publicity stunts anyway.

Ah, this seems more fitting in Midgar.

I'm still suprised that this goes on. you'd think that because they were teen celebrities the parents would keep a better eye out on their kids, especially at that age.

But of course this is just another good reason why you should only let your kids watch cartoons, and none of those type of shows.

Does anyone else think she looks like a creepy little girl from some Asian horror movie in that picture? Her face kind of creeps me out.

I would have to agree with that. she goes to take a picture like that, and all it does is make her look creepy.

hey maybe that South Park episode with britney spears was actually telling the future for myley Cyris

My mom was talking about this a lot a a month ago.
Yeah, it does set a bad role model for kids. Even if you try to hide from them the things that their "role models" do, you won't be able to. If only teens and preteens would look up to people other than celebrities, but we all know they're always gonna look up to people like that instead of looking up to truly admirable/wise people.

LEAVE MILEY ALONE
I actually quite liek teh Tv show though.

In a photo on an unidentified man's lap with her top off
She is 15, it's normal for people of that age to be having teh seckes.

Jamie leyn spears is pregnant at 16, I had a friend who was at 15. I'm sure lots of other people do too. Just because they are famous doesn't mean that they can't live a normal life.
Seriously I'd much rather have people idolize them than fiddy cent.

Yeah, it does set a bad role model for kids
I had much worse role models growing up, yet unfortunately I didn't turn out like them.

I don't think it's a big deal

Ugly teenage star is ugly :monster:

Anyway, yes, a lot of these teen stars are setting horrid examples for teenage girls. However, I think that while they may be celebrities, they're just as fallible as the rest of us. With the way celebrities are scrutinized all the time, I feel sort of bad for them. I think I'd probably go crazy too and end up needing to go to rehab. I mean, this girl is, what, fifteen or sixteen years old? Her every move is dicussed and scrutinized, and if she does something wrong, she gets critized by the media and by squawking parents. Hey, it's nice that your kid idolizes her, but it's sort of unfair to put all that pressure on her. And if your kid is THAT easily influenced by a celebrity, you've failed as a parent, I think. I don't know why we expect "better" of celebrities. They're just as normal, stupid, or weak as the rest of us. They just happen to make tons of money.

You're kidding, right? She's gained five pounds, which is automatically gross. Most "stars" look like they need 10-15lbs more on them at least.
What've you got against women who actually have curves?
Sorry, but that sort of attitude really gets on my nerves. (rhyme not intended. :neomon:)

And yes, child stars are just as vulnerable to succumbing to the excesses and pains of fame, and apparently often much less able to cope than mature adult celebrities are. It's important, because these children set role models for other children.

Smoking, crack-addicted babies don't have a place on children's television. Sorry Stewie. (though Family Guy isn't exactly children's TV.)

It's a shame, truly. I feel sorry for alot of child stars, and the way they're hounded by the media in such a way. Perhaps there should be laws (if there aren't already) protecting them from unwanted media coverage.

Hrmm, kinda reminds me off the rich kids that live around here. ;) They have so much but they use their daddy's money to spend it on hard drugs.

Well, what can you do? Some people are glad that these child stars get messed up so they can laugh at them. Look at Britney, I do feel bad for her. Some see her as a scapegoat. "Well my life isn't as bad as Britney's! Let's continue to laugh at her!"

Kids usually idolize someone, and I'm sure we all have at point of our lives. Girls are idolizing the wrong people obviously, but you also have toy stores such as Toys R US selling tramp stamp removable tattoos. Hell, look at Bratz dolls! They're showing basically telling girls that's is the "cool" way to dress.

Pretty much the same here. Celebrities don't bother me at all. They're normal people that do normally stupid shit, just like anyone else. All that they've got is spotlight.

Having the spotlight doesn't make you much different than anyone else or a God of perfection.:neomon:

Alternatively, you're supposed to do stupid shit when you're young! That way you won't get caught fucking up when you're older. xD

But nah, doesn't bother me in the least.

i don't know why but in an Evil kind of way i enjoy watching the child stars as they grow up and are overwhelmed by the Evil force that is commonly known to most as Hollywood but i do like when one day they wake up and think "WTF!!! i need to sort my life out" but then again they normally check themselves out of rehab early because it is causing 'Bad publicity'

Oh whatever. Just because they're stars doesn't mean that they can't be teens. 13-18 are some really wacky years, where you test the boundary to adulthood and do some outlandish things because it's the growing point of your life. Jamie Lynn Spears and Miley Cyrus are human too, and just because they're famous doesn't mean that they can't make mistakes either.

Pregnancy isn't the best thing ever, but teens in this modern society get pregnant all the time. No, they're not being good role models, but I think that they're today's youth in a nutshell; a representation of what we are with all of the alcohol, drugs, and sex.

The whole Miley Cirus photos of her and her friend sharing a lollie was the most stupidest thing (It was pretty hot though ;)).

I know the guy ain't a teenager but what about the kid from home alone and richy rich? I remember he like defored his parents and such anyone know any more i'm too lazy too wiki his name :P.

Think because these young girls work under the Disney company that they have alot of pressure to be ''sweet'' ''innocent'' and ''humble''.

But really they are just being free to be who they are, they are just being themselves.
If Miley whatever wants to pose nude, then it's just her character and own choice.

Brittany Spears for a long time to be sweet and play the role of a naive Virgin when really inside she probably wasn't. It would be hard to be such a young star or Teen star. With the pressure that others put on you, and what to do and how to act.

Disney doing a alot of Adult shows like Desperate Housewife's and '' The View '' they probably understand how Teenagers and adults act and feel. Notice how they don't sweeten up their adult programmes and still keep them to a Adult base.

They probably would like for their Teen Stars to be the same, Just be them.
Because holding back Miley Cyrus would just make things worse and make her crash more in the future, just like Spears.

Alot of people make fun of Spears and Cyrus both the media just sees them as easy targets to pick on. And it would be hard to just be yourself, and not get chewed up by how the Media picks on them. Like the man who just recently told Miley to strip more often, use more poles in your music videos and start being more a slut, start be more entertaining...'' That would screw anybody up, to hear something as vindictive as that.

Women have alot pressure in Music Videos and Society as written above WANTS them to be the sexual object, get pregent, and wear hardly nothing 24/7. Society wants to F*uck up the whole entire Woman, Female gender by turning them into Sexual Fantasies.

That would be hard to live with, and it would be hard to avoid and step away from.
Cyrus is probably dealing with, and Disney is giving a choice but once she leaves Disney she won't have a choice, and she will end up turning into the Sexual object..

Cyrus is just probably saying ' Ya know going to end up being screwed in the future anyways, so guess may start doing it now ''.. >_>

Just my 2 cents there.

BTW Barbie Dolls were no better than Bartz Dolls. Barbie dolls were so ' Pretty ' and '' Prefect ''
We are never going to get the prefect Doll for young children.
