I know Jimmy, I am not being a sore loser, I enjoy a friendly battle.

And Gabs, that depends on when you learn osmose, and a high magic level could boost a warrior's strength beyond 300 too with a berserk spell. ;)

Hmm, I don't know now. My little puppet here can be either a mage or a warrior. Should I send the Reaper after the warriors or after the mages?

After the Warriors :devil2:

New Mage Apprentice here :monster:

FFguy, you seem to forget that Berserk has a +100 limit. And when I mean High-level I mean around 150+. In the original, Osmose was acquired around lv 60. And besides, Petrify was a great spell too, -200. Mages have the advantage of powerful stat reducing spells.

Yes, but in this RPG the warriors have their own selection of skills to balance themselves against mages. ;)

That's why I am a Paladin. Both strength and magic at my command.:wacky:

Warriors had decent attack types in the original. They just weren't as effective as magic.

Hardly, the only decent attack so far is the warrior one. In which is costs ADR to use now. Even battle cry cost some too.

Yes but so does magic, the only difference being that a mage can technically be outlasted as ADR can be replenished.

And as I said, when Osmose is available, any pure Warrior will get totally wasted. Magic may cost MP, but mages tend to have a very high MP count. Therefore that means more healing and attacking spells. Their high MAG will allow them to have a high stat boosting magic. Although for the first say...50 levels, Warriors tend to be better.

Yes, but osmose requires mp and warriors don't have a limitless supply of mp. Nor can mages hold infinite mp potions, so a warrior is able to outlast and kill a mage with combat skills.

Osmose costs what...70 mp. It increases your own MP by 150. It doesn't actually transfer your opponents MP to your own. It just increases your MP, whilst draining the others. Therefore, if you use it alot during a PvP battle, the warrior will not have any MP left for healing. Then it's easy pickings for the Mage.

The warrior could also use this against the mage to remove all of it's mp. Making the mage easy pickings for the warrior. Also, the mage would not necessarily have high hp and could just be hacked down by the warrior before it can use any good magic, especially at high speed.

You're just being stubborn by using a spell such as giga flare the warrior will most likely spend all his MP faster then the mage, thus loosing the match rather easily.

The strategy of making the mage waste all of his MP works only in a mage vs mage battle or a battle mage vs mage battle or a battle mage vs battle mage battle.

Warrior vs Mage....Warrior loses.

You also forget that a warrior can enchant his or her weapon with powerful spells to deal additional damage to a mage. With high levels of speed, strength, dextirity and have say, flare on both swords?

Makes a powerful enemy imho.

That's why there are such useful spells as shell and protect...not to mention a high evasion from a mage would make all those attacks wasted.

That all depends, if a mage and warrior were equal in dextirity to evasion and if a warrior was fast enough the mage would not be able to use shell and protect in time.
