I think there should be a way of making sure there's no spoilers in topic titles, or at least marking the titles with Spoilers. I've seen loadsa topics with titles giving half of VII's Storyline away and I just thought it might ruin it for those who haven't finished it.

Well people put warnings in the titles if there's going to be spoilers, so no one can complain really. If they get spoiled; it's their own fault.

I'm pretty sure that topics have a 100 character limit, so what you are saying there is physically impossible.

With that being said, if you find any member posting a thread with major plot parts revealed (and something that isn't known to everyone on the Intarwebs), feel free to hit that report post button on their post and explain that you are in fact reporting the thread title.

It's impossible to filter the thread title due to the fact that BBCode (ie, the spoiler tag) does not work in thread titles.
While this might be possible, it serves little purpose and abuse would run rampart.
So the best way is to simply report posts you think includes spoilers.

Also, for the future, please use more descriptive thread titles.

If a game is over 3 years old and is on a last-gen system, it qualifies as a “historic” game and should no longer be qualified for spoiler protection. If someone has been a gamer THAT long and still has no idea what happens at the end of FF7, they are an idiot who should not be allowed anywhere near a message board in the first place. Do you REALLY care that much if someone makes a thread about Aeris dying? I would certainly hope not.

Actually, it's quite possible to give away all kinds of spoilers with topic titles...

Such as...(and I quote real thread titles)
if aeris didnt die...

What did you do when Aeris died?

The Midgar escape
(During Sephiroth's clone attack)

How about Midgar Headquarters
(before explosion)

Who ever beat that creature that chaed Selphie, Zell and Squall down the hill?

Secret Baku ending?

But Belazor's just saying it would be impossible in one single thread.

But in my opinion, spoiler bars are shite anyway. I mean, rly. All you have to do is put the mouse over the bar and all is revealed. They're useless. The first thing you think of doing when you see a spoiler bar is certainly not to leave it alone.

And really, like Ambiguity said, most of the spoilers are from old games. Like ones that came out 6-12 years ago. If you're on a final fanatsy message board and don't know anything about anything, then you'll have to get over it and check that game out and play it.:D

Well, I can partially agree that those can be considered spoilers. Titles like "*SPOILER* Aeris.." mighta been better.
These just fail, none of them reveal any major game event that can be potentially game-ruining.

To be honest, most people do put something along those lines in their titles so it usually is obvious and then it's people's own fault if they get spoiled.

Yeah I think so too.
And while the spoiler hack isn't my favourite of the different versions (there are those who collapse-hides the part of the post and only reveals it on a click of a button), it works well enough.
If you notice text being revealed, moving the mouse isn't difficult.

Yea, it does suck when people don't mark spoilers, even for old games. I think that marking spoilers on old games is pointless because a lot of people have already had ample opportunity to play those games. And those who haven't should just stay out of that section anyhow. But I know as a mod I've accidentally seen people talking about secrets in FFIV that I really wish someone would've spoilermarked. Maybe I should go back and infract them for wearing faded jeans or something...
