I try and make sure the age difference between myself and my partner is no more than three years. As for age of consent...I believe sixteen and over is legal. Now, I (along with quite a few of us, apparently) have heard of the whole 'have sex at thirteen/fourteen' stories. But here's the thing...these kids are either still in middle school or are just starting high school. Nowadays, they even use the whole 'not a virgin anymore' thing as an excuse to brag. No matter what they claim they believe or feel, they have no idea what they're doing with those of the opposite sex. Hell, they're just getting their feet wet when it comes to dating as it is. I'm sure that they, along with other kids still in high school, don't want a kid. The girls are still developing as it is (and are supposed to continue to develop until roughly eighteen, nineteen years old) and shouldn't be risking pregnancy. The boys certainly won't stick around to take care of the kid unless the child is forced upon them. Girls want to be taken seriously; guys certainly don't when they're teenagers.
Me personally, if I was pressured at all to have sex, I'd bluntly tell him 'no' and break off whatever relationship I was having with that person. I'm nineteen and proud to say I'm still a virgin (and I plan on staying that way 'til I'm at least married). Protection or not, I personally feel that sex is something you save when you're sure you want (and can afford) to start a family. (After all, there's always that chance that the protection will fail.)

Sex is disgusting and a freaking insult to human dignity, yet were cursed to do it to survive. For now, at least. Future technology may make all reproduction occur in laboratories, and with all of the advances in genetic technology coming out recently, this doesn't look so far off.
Heck, people of the future may look back at us the way we look at the people of ancient Sparta. They weeded out weak children by leaving all male newborns on cliffs for three days and only taking the survivors. We weed out bad parents by forcing them into poverty or having to put their kid up for adoption if they have the stupidity to have a child while underage. It's sickening, but like in ancient Sparta, we just use the same "It doesn't hurt you, so don't complain" excuse.

If you haven't noticed, we have the capability to wipe any of those species off the face of the earth while they can't do the same to us, and it certainly isn't due to our ability to have sex. People don't need to have sex any more than they need to drink or smoke, and any statement to the contrary is ignorant and most certainly not "moral".

Well I don't think there should neccesarily be an age limit.....well anyone under 15 shouldn't do it but back in the day 33 year olds were marrying 13 year olds and having children by them. That just proves how our standards have change. I still have my V-Card and i'm not plannign on giving it up until i feel i'm absolutly ready. I have no problem with underaged sex but braggin about it really urks me.

I guess that makes sense seing as that humans are far more superior than every other animal on the face of the earth.
I was only refering to nature vs nurture in saying that animals do it too as a part of their normal nature.
Being nurtured into sexual knowledge isn't a bad thing at all.
Nature: sexual urges/urge for pleasure
Nature: humans are baby making machines
Nurture: dangers of sexual intercourse, aka aids/std/hiv
Nurture: pregnancy prevention
Nurture: sex before marriage is bad
I can 100% respect the well-known and nurtured aspects of sex such as STDs and pregnancy risks. In today's society, having a baby could ruin your life.
What I (personally) don't follow is resisting human emotions.
I know "emotions" could be argued as being a mental state, instead of a physical temptation; but the chemistry of your body is what gives you emotions in the first place.
On the contrary...
I do think that having sex too-young is probably a bad idea. The human body doesn't reach it's growth peak until the early to mid 20s.
A 13 year old girl having sexual intercourse could interupt her development, couldn't it?
