Following up with his interview with Famitsu from last week, series director Tetsuya Nomura revealed some more information about Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD ReMIX.
Nomura mainly noted that the development of the title was decided before Final Fantasy X HD and it took two programmers from the Osaka Team about a year to program it in HD. Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix is also in it’s final stages of development.
Nomura also stated that Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days cutscenes will total about 2 to 3 hours. As for the gameplay, the camera’s has been adjusted to Kingdom Hearts II’s camera. Nomura also says that there won’t be a secret movie.
As always, we’ll keep posting more information as it’s released, so stay tuned!

This might explain why Kingdom Hearts 1.5 has more information on it than Final Fantasy X

Really surprising it only took 2 people working on it to update it in HD, especially since they changed some of the systems to play more like Kingdom Hearts 2. Im guessing they worked alot of overtime, especially considering the scope of the game.

If it took two people to do that to a game as big as this, then they have no excuse whatsoever not to re-release some of their other PS2 titles (FFXII, for example) in HD either. FFX can't be that much bigger than KH, so unless one person is working on it or it's been benched, it shouldn't take them that long to do it.

It wouldn't surprise me if they worked very long hours to do that though, considering the Japanese work culture.

Yeah, Id say FFX isnt much bigger (if bigger) than the first Kingdom Hearts. Granted, if they took a whole team, they could probably bust these games out in a few months, but SE is pretty stretched thin as it is with all the different games they are working on as well as next gen.

Im actually dissapointed that they will use kh2's camera. It will completely ruin the feel the original had

Hmm, I doubt it had much to do with the camera of KH2 and more with the worlds just overall being much smaller in KH2 than in the original.

But the camera zoomed out more so sora and the rest were almost like ants. So changing into first person was practically pointles.

I really dont remember the camera being a problem like you are describing and I did literally everything you could do in KH2.

I have to wonder is there a difference between remaking a shellshaded game and non shellshaded?

No. Its not that. The problem was it zoomed out mire than it did in the original.

It wasnt that kh2 had smaller worlds. It was the camera that made it look smaller. In kh1 you move the camera to get a better look at the world.

I really dont agree with that at all. The worlds were definitely smaller in KH2 compared to 1.

In terms of content, Yes. But visually they were just as big. Lions king wasteland, Hallow Bastion. Beauty and the beast, The world that never was. Those places were big. And im saying this while kh2 is paused and i just previously played kh1 yesterday.

For example: Hallow Bastion had some small areas but it was much closer to Sora that it allowed us to move it and/or switch it to first person to see them. Compare traverse town from kh3D from kh1.
