Hi all this question is out of curiosity if you don't mind please be completely honest with me thanks

I don't know do you call me a gamer and but however I'm starting to realize I'm a gamer as well anyway I have a question I like to ask you all as well and it's about gaming, video games and yes possibly being a gamer.

So please bear with me and be completely honest with me thanks.

Am I a bad gamer/or being a bad gamer for that if I collect and/or use cheats, cheat codes, walkthroughs, tips, hints, glitches you name it?

Like I use cheats of either infinity ammo on any shooting games or if I need help on final fantasy 7 of how to get a huge materia from the rocket in rocket town or any other cheats, cheat codes, walkthroughs, tips hints, glitches you name it and/or if I collect and/or use cheats, cheat codes, walkthroughs, tips, hints, glitches you name it.

And yes if i/we find glitches too as well Thanks for your answers and thanks for your honesty and thanks for reading this and thanks for your time and have a wonderful week you guys.

Well it depends on the situation in which you use said cheats etc...if you have played the game and finished it. I find it suitable to use Cheats and glitches, however I feel that it tarnishes the gaming experience by taking the easy route out of the game that is designed to be a challenge. Games loose their entertainment factor which like I said before is associated with the challenge that the game provides.

It is down to you if you choose to do this, but for me I wouldn't touch cheat codes or glitch the game. For me glitching has very rarely happened and if it does I laugh and go 'Well would you look at that' and move on sort of thing.

You're not necessarily a bad gamer if you've at least beaten the game ONCE, without resorting to cheats, exploits and such.

Guides and tips are different, they help you get by. Cheats and exploits however, it's just giving the advantage and, I think it makes the game less enjoyable.

Gamers can only judge themselves honestly, if you think you're good, or bad, it's all up to you.

Well, the way I see it:

Games are 100% intended for having fun, so use as many cheats, glitches, whatever else as much as you like. Just not if you're playing online or for getting high on a leaderboard :ahmed:

You are a gamer when you enjoy playing games, like my sister that she only play games when i have unlocked infinite ammo (Resident Evil), unlimited health (Twisted Metal) and such.

You can use cheats and still be a gamer i say that after you have practiced enough in the game using cheats you can play witouth them to see if you can finish it with your own skills, for example i beat Digimon World and then used cheats to get other digimons that i couldnt get and i still a gamer.

Use as much cheats as you want but be sure to at least give the game a try witouth them to see if you have what it takes to beat it (And dont use it in multiplayer)

thanks man for the advice i will keep that in mind and i will never cheat against other players and i never will i will play and fight fair and square and if they wish to use infinity ammo like in resident evil 5 if we play together then that's fine by me i don't mind doing it with them

I prefer to beat the game once, and then use cheats and such on the second or whatever time playthrough. A walkthrough for the first time playing the game isn't a form of cheating. At least not to me. So walkthroughs are okay.

Normally i dont use a waltrough in my first play but when it comes to RPgs i tend to use them when i know i wont be playing it again.

There are some friends that is great to kick their asses with cheats its normally fun when you have infinite grenades and launch them like crazy :).

As long as you're still getting some enjoyment out of your games by using cheats/glitches etc. then keep at it.

I try and see how far I can go without a walk-through or cheats and if I get really, really stuck or lost then I'll read up a walkthrough or grab a cheat guide.

I see walkthroughs as sort of a help device and not really cheating per say. It's not really like a school exam where if you cheat and you can get seriously punished because gaming is more for fun and entertainment than something that's really serious.

Like when you're swimming and you're not doing so good and you need a floatie. Something like that. It's not really cheating per say; more like giving you a aid to get across if you feel like you can't.
:)

I tend to frown upon those who use cheats on their first try without barely trying to enjoy the game the way it was meant to be played, but if you can somehow get a worthwhile experience from the game by cheating, then I guess it isn't changing too much. But if you try a game without cheating, you will really, really notice a different feeling of accomplishment when you get to the end. It's really a great feeling and you should probably try to finish games by earning the ending.

Like almost everyone else here, I'd only cheat if I finished the game at least once.
With games like Resident Evil and some RPG games, I just can't get through them without a text walkthrough on hand. It won't happen. But at least I'm not cheating. I'm just being told where to go next and where to find things. That's not necessarily cheating.
