FFX General Discussion

I've been saying for years they'd re-release FFX, but from what I gather it's going to be a remastered version.

I beat all the Dark Aeons apart from Yojimbo LOL

I'm SOOOOO getting this! I've been waiting for so long!

I just read that in FFX HD for the PS3 is going be just a remastered version and not a complete remake like orginally intended. =/. I do hope they put the Dark Aeons sidequests in this version as people like me did not get to play it.

Nope, no remake. Just a remastering. Updated graphics, possible trophies, possibly adding in the Dark Aeons and Penance. Though it should be noted that there is no confirmation on the last two. That's merely fan speculation. But in all likelihood they're definitely going to add trophies since it's on the PS3. Dark Aeon and Penance? I say it's likely.

I still want a western version of FFX-2 International + Last Mission. The Monster arena/creation thing looks amazing. And I like the Psychicher (sp?) dressphere. I'm so sad they didn't include these things in the NA or PAL releases ;__;

My guess is that we'll get our next update at the Tokyo Game Show in September. I was hoping for an update at E3, along with freaking Versus. But we got nothing on either one. So my guess is we'll get the update then

Yeah that's what I was thinking...unfortunately I don't think I can wait that long!!
I'm trying to hold back the urge to play FFX all over again for the 4th time (haven't played it through in about 3years)...but I want to wait until the HD release comes out so that I will enjoy it more!(as I might have forgotten certain scenes and such)...Shame its soo far off though! >.<

Ohh how you love to tease!! lol

I'm excited for the HD remake as well! I cant wait to see how beautiful Spira will look. Personally, it's my favorite world that Square has created, with Macalania being my favorite area.

A question for the fellow GD of FFX; Which boss was the most difficult for you? Mine would have to be Yunalesca. She was the biggest pain EVER!

Has there been any clarification on the concept of remastering FFX? Cause visually it will look the same but with anti-aliasing and no jagged edges...that's what all the HD collections have had...and some updated textures but nothing serious....I am hoping the visuals have been worked beyond that.

As for the game itself I can't wait to replay it on my TV cause playing it on a PS2 is a chore with how bad a HDTV makes it look.

Hmmm....excluding Penance it took me a few times before I figured out the formula to beating Yunalesca. Same with Seymour. When I first played through FFX he gave me a lot of trouble. The first and 3rd battles specifically.

I'm worried about that personally. If it's anything like the other HD collections it won't look THAT much different. Honestly, I don't think I would see the point in the whole thing if that's all it's going to be. But honestly who knows. SE seems tight lipped about it. So I guess we'll see when TGS comes around and they give us updates.

Hmmm your right on them being tight lipped and to be honest, when it was announced they were already working on it. Also HD collections have been released in a very short space of time since announcements...manly a year later or less. But they are collections....this is just one game...so it make me wonder that is going beyond...but like we say who knows. TGS could be it...but I wish S-E done what they did last time and have their own conference in like Janurary again.

I've been playing this game on my PS2 since late May. I'm towards the end but doing all the insane amount of sidequests and attempting to get these ultimate weapons are ridiculous. Dodger 200 lightning strikes in a row and the Chocobo race are what I'm having trouble with. I haven't even touched the Monster Arena aside from doing the Calm Lands section. :humph:

I literally had an attitude for at least 30 minutes because of the Yunalesca fight. That damn "Zombie" attack.

The hardest fight would have to be Nemesis for me, the first time anyways.

If we're not talking about Superbosses, then it would have to be Yunalesca, although I had an easy time, her death spam got me a lot.

My suggestion for the lightning dodge:

1.) Do it at a time you know you will not be bothered. I believe the longest I did the lightning dodge was 25-30 minutes.
2.) Turn off the lights if it helps
3.) Get a playlist on your iPod (or whatever you want to use) and set it so you can listen to 20-30 minutes worth of music, then listen to the music as you are doing the sidequest. I found that I went into autopilot and was able to do the mini game with ease by listening/singing along to the music. If you mess up, then start the playlist over. You'll know how many more lightning bolts you'll have to dodge based on what song you're on. But try not to think about it. Just let the songs play out for about 25 mins. That should be enough time to dodge 200 (or more) lightning bolts.

As for the chocobo race: Your best chance of winning is when the layout is setup in a way that the balloons are all on Tidus' side at the very beginning of the minig ame. The layout changes each time, but when you get the first five balloons you can win the race pretty easily. Keep trying and you will eventually figure out the right way to maneuver the chocobo to dodge those stupid birds and get the right amount of balloons. Don't quote me on this, since it's been a while since I did the mini game, but I believe the minimum amount of balloons needed is 12 or 13, or perhaps 14 with one hit by the bird. I can't remember exactly. But if you don't get hit and get 13 balloons I'm pretty sure that's enough to get 0.00. If you find yourself getting frustrated: stop playing and do something else. You'll do a lot worse after trying over and over again without relaxing. It gets incredibly frustrating. So I would suggest stopping and trying out the Monster Arena since you said you have touched that yet. And then go back when you're more relaxed. lol. You'll get it eventually. It's not impossible, trust me.

Final Fantasy X help

This is discussion on final fantasy X and if any body needs help with the game mabye someone can help, not me of course, im working on the game myself

Im playing the INT version, how is this game different from the original apart from Dark Aeons and Penance?

That's all there is really, the INT version just has the Dark Aeons, and Penance.

Also, the Sphere Grid starts off in the middle for everyone, and may branch off to whatever paths you want.

In the INT and PAL versions you can use the Expert Sphere Grid which allows you to assign any job type you want to any character. So yeah, Auron can be a healer if you want him to be. And Rikku could learn Tidus' abilities, Wakka can learn Lulu's, Kimahri....well, you always had the ability to chose which path he went but you can make him whatever you want again, etc.

Before the characters had jobs assigned to them unless you did a lot of backtracking you could change it, the paytrought will be worth.
