Am I the only one who felt depressed for a while when the game ended? The fact that the story had finished and nothing else was going to happen and the characters and everything else will someday fade into history?

Yeah, maybe SquareEnix will produce a Remake, but that's all? Yes, maybe (doubt so) they will produce another sequel to the story -- but if not the story ends there and the characters 'die' out.

Am I the only one who thinks this? If so, I'm going to visit a therapist.

yeah i was kinda down when the story finished - but i dont want ANY MORE SEQUALS!!!

they've whored it out enough thank you

im all for a remake though like you :) FFVII is quite possibly the greatest game of all time - the only thing preventing it from reaching that Elusive title are its now sub-par graphics.

Just NO. MORE. SEQUALS.

The remake would have to be good for me to buy it i was depressed a little when it ended and i really don't want more sequals they've degraded it enough thank you

Well I want atleast another sequel, the game's story has really improved since the dawn of Dirge of Cerberus and Crisis Core.

And yeah perhaps a remake with more hints at G and the SHM.

They are not whoring out a game in the least, they are improving something that was perhaps a cliche story.

If they had bother explaining all these loose ends in a 4th disc, we wouldn't have all this extra crap, like AC and DoC. We wouldn't even need a remake. Thanks to what they've done with the characters in DoC especially, I have little love for them. I used to like Cid, but god they've made annoying as hell! More sequels show that a) They don't care what goes in, as long as it has the FFVII characters and makes money b) VII's story wasn't the greatest - it'll show that this was one hell of a badly done plot, if they feel the need to ever expand on something. Every other game seems to cover all their loose ends by the end of the main game.

I was disappointed at the ending. 500 years later? No explanation as to what happened? Hm, I suppose that was the creators reason as to milk money out of us - let's make an ambiguous ending that doesn't tie things together!

Prequels, not too bad. Though I care less for G, I think it's an ok idea to explore what happened with Sephiroth and Zack etc.

I did feel depressed, but knew that they couldn't end the story there. I mean, it was a successful game and fans demanded more. Hence, the making of Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, Crisis Core, Before Crisis and so on.

I was thrilled to be finished with it, since by the time I had almost finished I had already bought VIII and I didn't want to start it till I finished VII. It took me over 150 hours to beat it since I had to rely without a strategy guide which if I got stuck, I was stuck for hours without knowing what to do. But I was glad to be done when I finished, it was actually making me mad that I hadn't finished it.

I was depressed at the end, but the 500 years thing showed that everything worked out, ShinRa stopped, and the planet managed to live on, but still, it was a little bit of a scam what SE did, they made so many unanswered questions in the end that fans will demand a sequel so they can see if they survived and what they did after, therefore making SE money, though and evil plot, i must say very smart.

No, you're not the only one.

And I believe that they messed up with explaining everything in the story because 1) they had a deadline 2) it'd be hard to stuff all that extra stuff into a game. It's like trying to make Battlefield Earth into a movie. the results were very much the same: confuzzling and missing many details vital to knowing exactly what happend how, and why. Now that SE knows what to do, the remake will be better!!

There is a remake thread sticked, so if you want to discuss a remake, please discuss it there. This thread is not for talking about a remake, so please stay on topic.

You're not the only one. I felt that way too, especially when it said "500 years later" and it showed Red XIII and his...offsprings? That made me sad because then I knew that Cloud and all them had died already. I then had a quick flashback of when Cloud got off the train in the beginning. And then the flashbacks were all jumbled together with what I experienced while playing, the characters, the storyline, the mini-games, the boss battles, etc.

Was I sad? Oh yes, definitely.

I found myself wanting to know what happened Meteor made contact with Holy, but I can't say I was "depressed" at not knowing. It was a bit of an anti-climax, but I was relatively satisfied with the way things turned out. My curiosity was partially fed by the small clip of Naniki overlooking Midgar, so I came off a bit better than I originally thought after that.

Hmmm. I admit I was a little depressed because i had just beaten quite possibly the greatest RPG of all time and it always seems like it wasn't long enough. But that's how it is for all great games. Your having so much fun that it seems that time isn't even there.

Disappointment

To me this was the greatest final fantasy in the series as most say it is but it had the strangest ending... The only thing i got out of the ending was the World was saved And that Aeris was in everyones hearts but what happened to everyone? There has to be more to this than meets the eye and i bet 1 day there will be a continuation of this game.

Erm sweetie AC is a continuation of the game - but in movie form :) DoC follows Vincents story too :)

I dont want them to make a FFVII-2 though - because we all know how well that worked for FFX

Yeah... We do know about Charlie's Angels.

We just want a Remake! Tnx SE for giving us the movie, but we didn't ask for the sequels or prequels! We just want a REMAAAAAAKE!

Stop that evil remake speakin'!!! lol

I'll elaborate, yeah is was saddening when you get to the end. Such a great story, you never wanted it to end. But it did. *sniff* I must've sat in front of the TV for a half-hour watching the star field at the very end. Didn't want it to end.

Then I played it again....and again....and again....got the movie....and played it again....and again....watched more of the movie....played it again.....
