Zack - his number

Yea, I just watched the video on YouTube and Sephiroth does show him beforehand. Zack (shown as Cloud in the Kalm flashback) asks Sephiroth what is in the tanks? He explains that normal members of SOLDIER are introduced to mako, like he was. But these creatures are no longer human because they've been exposed to much higher levels of Mako. He never says what they are though. And I'm pretty sure the Sephiroth clones you see in the game are in fact the burnt citizens of Nibelheim.

So pre freak-out, those tubes create monsters from some unknown originals. Post freak-out he uses them to create Sephiroth clones by introducing Jenova cells.

Zack was SOLDIER, Cloud wasn't. Zack already had Jenova Cells in him prior to experiment because he was in SOLDIER, so his body was able to reject the treatment. Cloud however didn't and so succubed to it.

That was just a question he asked because of relevance, clearly he isn't the same. Just becuase Red has a numberd tattoo doesn't mean he was part of the same string of experiments. Maybe he's #13 of the 'breeding endangerd species' project or sommit:rolleyes:
 
and why did zack have to die was pretty lame the quick clip i saw from the advent children dvd .. was shot down by some weak soldiers.. man he shoulda wiped them out... made me upset
 
obviously not if cloud wanted to be like him... hmm and on advent children dvd special features zack had some quick moves.. so there.
 
Although if Zack did have a number it would prob have to be clone number 1. As there were not any others mentioned before him to my knowledge, one would assume if there were they would be there in Zacks place.
 
I'm not actually sure about that, but I have some theories (probably all wrong though)
One is that Cloud had a sort of mental breakdown of Zack's death, and had something of an identity crisis, resulting in him taking on Zack's persona
Another is that Cloud felt very guilty about Zack's death and blamed himself for it. Because of the promise that he gave Zack ("I'll live both our lives" or something to that effect) he felt it neccessary to 'become' Zack so that he'd live on
Or maybe Cloud just preferred Zack's life to his own?

There have been multiple theories shared by people within this thread. Take a look at them, and decide whether you think one of them is viable.



I still firmly believe Jenova's role played a pivotal part in Cloud's reconstructed memories. As we see, it made Cloud easily manipulatable throughout the story.
 
Zack had to be very powerfull i cant wait to play crisis core .since zack was first class without been exposed to jenova cells he had to be very powerfull. zack was exposed to jenova after being wounded by sephiroth and he was a failure just like cloud. so they did not get numbers.
