Zack - his number

Zack didn't have a number. He was just a member of SOLDIER, at First Class rank. The men in black coats were the failed clones or whatever, and came after Zack's death
 
Zack didn't get a number because he was the failed 'Clone' that Sephiroth claimed was Cloud, but then again they escaped before they were to be given numbers anyway.
 
I thought Zack wasn't a clone, and that his Jenova cells come from his promotion to SOLDIER thus he wouldn't of earnt a number?
 
Not a clone in a traditional sense. We've covered this in a few topics. HE was as much of a "clone" as they were... but none of them were technically cloned.
 
yes but was Zack a part of the experiment is my question, because it appears that was just an ordinary 1st class SOLDIER
 
He wasn't ever in SOLIDER. And none of the numbers were either. The numbers were the burnt people of Nibelheim. Tifa and Cloud's families.

Zack was in SOLDIER. He was a 1st Class SOLDIER, it's told fairly explicity. That's what Crisis Core is about; Zack's time in SOLDIER and the G Project
 
so when they say sephiroth clones..? how did they make them... i thought zack was an ordinary person that joined soldier and such
 
Yea, Zack is an ordinary person. He has mako and jenova cells injected in him to make him stronger... but not enough to make him into a clone. How those "clones" were created were by taking the burnt bodies of the people of Nibelheim and putting them in the Nibelheim reactors in Mako baths and having them be subjected to jenova cells as well.

WHy only real question with this comes in something I don't clearly understand. They go there to investigate ravaging mutant monsters. Tifa takes them there, clear the area, then come back. That's when Sephiroth has his breakdown. But at some point Sephiroth has Cloud look into the mako tanks to see the mutated specimens. Is that after or before Sephiroth goes crazy. Because if it's after, it seems odd that Sephiroth would show him then... but if it's before it doesn't fit because Sephiroth hasn't killed all the people of Nibelheim yet. So how could they be in the tanks already? And we know the people of Nibelheim are the clones... I dunno. I need to either play or rewatch that part of the game. It's confusing.
 
I am pretty sure it was before it all happend, so I don't really know who or what was in the tanks then
 
He showed Cloud before his psycho freak-out.

As for the mutants in the pods, they weren't clones of the original people from Nibelheim. These were test subjects for Hojo whilst the SOLDIER program was still under beta. Over-exposed humans, they are.

Mako radiation is a bad-bad thing. *shakes head*
 
ok ok isee and the monsters in the tanks were just subjects they couldnt have been the clones .. just like Aztec Triogal said they werent all burned and killed yet...

He's not, hense the 'failure' part. Hojo experimented on the Nibel towns people after the incident in an attempt to copy Sephiroths abilitys. But because Zack already had Jenova Cells in him, his body rejected the treatment and turnd out fine and so 'failed'. However Cloud didn't make it to SOLDIER and thus never got injected with Jenova Cells in the first place, so he pretty much succedeed at becoming a ''clone''. Cloud and Zack don't have numbers because they obviously escaped prior to the branding.

As for what was in the Mako Tanks at the reacter, they are humans being turned into 'special' members of SOLDIER via a process that differs from the regular SOLDIER selection. Sephiroth goes mad after discovering this and initially belives he's like these monsters but obviously finds out he's infact completly diffrent after abit of reserch in the mansions basement. Then after that revelation he goes mental and does the whole burning down the town thing and so on.

The game doesn't explain it very well. damn English translation and all.
 
So if Zack and cloud were soldiers injected with Mako and Jenova Cells to create soldiers on par with Sephiroth why was Zack so weak? Cloud was to a degree and went spaz all the time but Red 13 was experimented on too and he didn't go nuts.
 
exactly red was asking in the game am i going to go crazy like the rest of them? and he didnt. plus cloud never made it to first class soldier...
