Lately, I've been under the impression that a majority of the members here are picture perfect in every way. It's like everyone here is my '' better'' in a way. Apparently, one of my problems is that I take the internet way too seriously. That makes three people who's told me that very thing now. Many people say that no one's perfect. I'd have to disagree there. I've met people who has it all, and they're not the least bit shy about admitting it.

The member picture thread: I've noticed that there are many upon many members, and ex-members who's looks I completely envy. So what did I do? I posted the picture of some guy who wasn't me. I removed it recently, because I found out the guy passed away some time ago. I couldn't in very good conscience still say I was him.

The ''Who do you love'' thread. (On another forum I used to post in)
Every single member except for me had/has someone. I don't even have to mention what a swift kick to the crotch that one was.

Another thread in a different forum I used to post in entitled ''The most interesting thing about you.'' I clicked on the link connecting to the thread without hesitation. Then i just sat at my monitor blankly. I had nothing at all to go on. It was a very disheartening display at the least.

I never try to think of this much, but as of a few minutes ago, it hit me like a ton of bricks.

Then that is their problem; they're ego-tistical, big-headed and far too proud. No one in this world is perfect by any means.

I think everyone has something interesting about themselves, but it isn't always clear to them. Different people have different tastes and so find different qualities in you interesting. I myself can't really think of something that is 'interesting' about myself, but there must be something otherwise I wouldn't have friends.

Theres no such thing as a perfect person, having everything does not make you perfect it just means you probadly have a more comfortable life.

And EVERYONE has something interesting about them it may not be easy to see from your eyes but other people see it.
If i was asked what was the most interesting thing about me id probadly draw a blank. But i have m8s who could write a list about me.

As for threads like who do u love etc its all just fun. 99% of forums the members have never met eachother theyre just pictures and words.

Think about what u have going for yourself instead of envying what others have.

I had that also. You arent the only one who thinks this, I do it all the time. I see others as better then me and believe Im worth nothing compared to everyone else.

Stop putting yourself down and foccs on you, not anyone else. As its been mentioned, no one is perfect and I doubt there is a perfect soul out there.

Gov, you have just proved in that post that you are elloquent, modest and sensitive, they are traits that people admire in the "real" world. Be proud of that, you will reap the rewards eventually.

Enjoy your time here on the forums (I certainly do!) but this is mindless fun, not real life, so you have no need to compare yourself with egotistical wankers.

Nothin but love for ya man!

I admire you for admitting this. The thing is, no one IS perfect. Either it be personality-wise or physical appearances...no one's perfect. Of course, when you're in love, you want to think that the person is perfect. And that's fine, nothing wrong with that. But in reality, everyone has flaws. And you must always remember that.

Now, don't take the net too seriously. Hah, I'll be the fourth person to tell you this. Really, forums is just a place to chill and hang out with interesting people...non-perfect people, like you and me...and that's what makes it all great. So cheer up. ;)

Yes Guv, of course no one is perfect. You'd be surprised at how many flaws everyone on these forums have. ;)
But then again, we only show our 'good' sides, or at least as good as we can make ourselves to be. After all, we all like to show off when we get together, to quote a good book...
Besides, you have your good qualities too, again, like all of us.
And nothing interesting about you? Really? Pshaw.
I'd beg to differ.

Also, like Grimoire said, it's just all fun anyways. Don't take it too seriously either, we all hide something under our forum representations. ;)

EDIT: Actually, by admitting this Guv, you're probably one of the more honest people on here. ;)

You can't really say what your own good/bad qualities are. It's hard to judge yourself honestly. I never never judge myself honestly; not very many people do.

"Perfection" is something that each individual percieves differently. Sure, there's no such thing as a perfect person...that is if you've spent your whole life invisioning the perfect hot chick or whatever. I've known a handful of "perfect people"; just a handful...but they were only perfect in my eyes.

There are people on the nets who..."look good", but...then again, it's not all honest. Who wants to post bad pictures of themselves? How many people post BAD pictures of themselves??.........?

Ugh. First impressions are pretty much always wrong. And the internet? It's totally different because not many people really act like themselves.

Yeah, that's what I was going to say but couldn't really come up with the words. :P

Anyways, yeah, on the internet and most likely elsewhere in real life, we all want to make ourselves look good. Making yourself look bad is just a big no-no, now isn't it? Who doesn't want to be liked?

I also agree with the part that we don't act ourselves on the internet, we just try to make some semblance of ourselves, but it's never entirely us. ;)
If you know what I mean.
Sometimes we adjust accordingly depending on who we hang out with, same in real life, same online. Again, because we do not want to be hated, no matter how hard we try to pass ourselves off to be 'bad'.

I can honestly admit that I:

+ Don't look as good in person as I do in pictures...
+ Am not as open minded in reality
+ Am not a social butterfly; I really don't like talking to new people, I hate working in groups, and I hate helping people unless I feel sorry for them.

I'm actually NOT shy in real life...but I would still prefer not to talk to most people out of either shyness or annoyance.

I act differently around different people. Some people make me feel very open and energetic, and other people make me feel...like taking a cyanide pill. =]
