You know how you sometimes drag your camera along to friend/family outings so you can capture your favorite memories and cherish them forever? You know how sometimes...after you've developed your film, or uploaded your pictures onto your computer...there's always some strange person standing in the background who you have no association with whatsoever?
Or (this is what I hate the most); you're sitting at your favorite restaurant, and you cover your face just a second too late as the people beside you snap a picture in your direction while you're shoveling food into your face?

Have you ever stopped to wonder...
How many pictures of me are there in the world?
What random stranger has a picture of me sitting in their keepsakes box?

Ever wonder? =]

That's a creepy thought to be honest. I don't have a myspace for that reason or post my pictures often. I'm rather paranoid about pictures spearing all over the internet. People are sick, they can do whatever they want with your pictures.

I have pics on MySpace, but only my friends have access to it so I dont get some werido having my pics.

I tend to make sure that no one gets a picture of me. It's a very rare occasion when it does happen though, so I doubt there's that many of me that I don't know about.

Iv never thought of that O.O I take hundreds of pictures & there are salways random people in the background. I can just imagine me looking horrid in the background of someone else picture. That would be typical >.<

I hate when someone takes a picture and I happen to be in it, even in the background. I feel like the random people can ruin someones picture and I don't want to be the one to ruin it. And it happends a lot expecially at the bar someone always takes pictures of their friends up at the bar and almost always I am in the background.

What I hate more is at the bar random people always want to get a picture with me and it does make me uncomfortable.

I hate pictures being taken of me. In fact, my profile pic is only one of three pictures that I have of me alone. And that was taken about 4 years ago. But it is a scary thought to think about how many pictures I'm not aware of that have me in them. *shivers at thought*

XD I think taking pictures is very important. When I get older, I want to have lots of pictures of myself and my loved ones to show to my kids (or whoever). lol.
But that's just a creepy thought; being in other people's family photos. XD

Wow... Imagine how many other peoples' pictures you could be in while on vacation! Eek. Thats a LOT of pictures, just even for me visiting DC. Good thing I don't post my pictures online and I never send them to anyone. As many others here have said, there are VERY sick people out there. And people that want to stalk you... I'm getting paranoid again. D=

Well, I've created fake myspace accounts to mess with buddies of mine. When I'm googling a picture of some random person to use as the fake myspace default picture, I always wonder what it'd be like to be the person in the decoy picture.

You're browsing myspace one day, and you notice someone has an account...with YOUR picture. That'd be freaky.

Yeah it has happened. Well, not me but I heard about it. o_o I find it rather sad when people take your pictures and claim it's them.

Back when I was playing Warcraft there was a guy who posed as girl for about two years. He had a random picture of a girl claiming it's him. Eventually everyone found out who he actually was. :P

I've had that happen 3 times to me! Well, one was some customer at my work was taking pictures of me and putting them on his myspace which I asked him to take them off, and then I had to report him to Tom because I did not tell him he could take my picture in the first place.

The other two where actually stealing my pictures from myspace. One of them had close to 2000 friends on their myspace, so basically all those strangers had access to my picture and who knows how many have been circulating around. Which is why I barely post pictures on FFF

... Myspace is the devil. =\ I avoid that place like Staph infection and AIDS. Theives, retards, posers, and freaks breed inside of Myspace.
That picture stealing thing is not that new, by the way, some people could easily google search someone and take their picture and use it for a fake identity.

It is a strange idea but, to be honest, if people take pictures of me when I'm abroad then do something with them it's they who should worry since they must be a little strange in the head... I've done nothing but sit/stand somewhere so I shouldn't need to worry about that. ;) Worrying about that all the time would be a little too much I think. I can understand why people do worry though.

I had the same problem as Bei Bei; girls stealing my pictures and posing as me. But I moved all of my pictures to my private myspace. And I don't post very many pictures here since some weirdos save them or say foul things about my face. o.0

I've never ran across that situation or the knowledge that someone might be stealing my pictures here or myspace, but yeah, you never really know with people. Actually, I never really stopped and wonder about the mere idea until recently. I mean, why would people pose like they're someone else? Why take the time searching on the net for pictures you'd like to pose as? They must have a lot of time in their hands. Bored at that too.

But anyway, I really don't see anything wrong when posting pictures online. To many people, it's a way of communicating with real-life friends (as well as online) and families that you don't see everyday. Pictures are fun, they really are. I admit, I enjoy taking pictures because you can capture the still-moments of that particular chapter of your life. It's not the same as moving-cameras, although those are fun too. Pictures are more memorable and it's really sad that sick people are hindering others from enjoying their cameras.

But yes, putting pictures on private would be more preferable just to be safe.

Damn, there's something I didn't thought about. Only a few das ago, I was at a friends and we went through some pics of hers, and in the background was I. O__o

I was really puzled as how I came there, and didn't really dislike it, since I was acting naturaly and it looked good, though quite dark. But now that you've mentioned it... It is a bit freaky how people can abuse stuff like that, Well even if they don't it still doesn't seem that right.

Well I don't really post pics of myself on the net, have a few sent to close friends who in that case lived in a different country. But nothing that I should worry about, right??? xD

There's nothing odd about people stealing other people's pictures and pretending to look or act like they do. What's actually kind of dangerous about it is that some people release not only pictures of themselves, but they also reveal their personal information. Take myspace for example; A picture of yourself, your full name, your birthday, and your location...that's a great way to put yourself on the list for identity theft! o.0

....Uh.....wasn't the discussion about how it's creepy that you might be in the background of other people's photos?

Anyway, when I've looked at vacation photos I've taken and seen people in the background, I've often wondered about them. Who they are, what they're doing now....okay, I sound really creepy. But it's interesting. I could be in the background of many people's vacation photos without even realizing it. Creeeepppyyy, but sort of interesting.
