I suppose my thing is that we have some decent conversations here sometimes that are as on topic and driven as conversations elsewhere. I mean I understand that counting them the same as other threads would make no sense, but I don't see why counting like 5 to 1 would hurt anything. I mean if it's about the Veteran status someone would have to spam 5000 posts to get to it. That's no easy feat.

The only reason I see for not doing it is that it's not possible. Is that why?
 
If we put post count on Spam, then it'll end up having to follow site rules, which basically eliminates it from being spam. Because it'll no longer be short or pointless (though it might still be annoying :wacky:). The veteran status isn't really an issue. Because even if you had 20k posts in spam, you'd still have to be around for a year.

As far as counting 5:1, I don't think that's actually possible.
 
Isn't the reason there's no post count in spam just down to the simple reason that there's no quality in the posts? Short hand answers, no u's and ah yeds' run rampant that it's completely devoid of quality?
 
Yeah. I do have a general inquiry though. In the front page stats, it tells you how many posts and threads you have, that thread count includes spam threads, whereas in the postbit on the side, it does not. Is there a way to show on the front page postbit, your postcount to match with the post count for threads? Because I often wonder what my postcount WOULD be all together, included with the threads, even if it doesn't technically count.

I wonder the same thing. Because I post mostly in the spam sections. It'd be neat to see a grant total, even if it didn't mean anything.

Honestly, I want Veteran status badly, but I'm never gonna get a thousand normal posts because I put actual thoughts into my post outside of Spam and such. Couldn't it just count toward that? I mean like you said you still have to be here a year so it's not like spamming a bunch would get you it.

Never is a long time. But that's also why spam doesn't have a post count. To encourage posting in the post count section.

I would find it offensive for my posts to be not worthy of post count whereas his shithouse ones are. It's a fact that only a few people who post in spam have posts worth reading, I am one of them, he is not.
