I mean seriously. It doesn't take much to have more credibility than Squall/Rinoa I know but I've just been going through FFVIII again via a Let's Play and Squall and Ellone just seem perfect for each other.

She's a loving and tender woman - very mature and decent. A nurturer by nature I guess you could say. And if Squall needs anything, it's some therapy.

Plus by being with her he could resolve all his old childhood issues.
 
Hey this is on two of my forum sites lol.

Anyways when reading the title I thought you were making a theory that Ellone and Squall were a couple instead of the theory that they are brother and sister. I'd have to say though that it wasn't about how good Squall and Rinoa were, it was about how they lived with what they had. So I disagree with the Squall X Ellone theory. Sorry.
 
Hmmm, I dunno. Rinoa was like the opposite of Squall; completing him. Opposites attract ;)) I just thought they were very cute together and I couldn't see it any other way. Rinoa opens Squall up and seeing them is adorable. =)

Ellone and Squall? Naahhh. They refered to her as sister anyways so the bond he had for her was totally different then it was for Rinoa. More like a sister-brother thing.
 
Ellone and Squall I never really saw tbh, she was always the big sister (regardless of the actual lack of blood tie) so I think that would just be a bit weird :hmmm:
 
Squall and sincerely Ellone not be the best couple.
Both because they are brothers, but also because everything that Squall has been derived from childhood, the absence of her sister, maybe if his childhood was different, he himself would be different. Already Rinoa with its liveliness and happiness, can brighten and awaken the hidden feelings of Squall and has a great virtue, patience for his actions.
 
Indeed, they were raised as brother and sister. That would just make it werid and mega akward. Opposites attract, thats why Rinoa and Squall were made for each other. But Squall and Ellone is just plain wrong.
 
They were apart for 10 years and Squall only saw her as a sister when he was very young.
He doesn't even remember her for most of the game.

People act like they are actual brother and sister as opposed to on needy boy and a slightly older girl who haven't seen each other in about a decade.
 
Squall and Rinoa go well together, Squall and Ellone just seems weird. You dislike Rinoa, fine, but coming up with bizarre other pairings for the main character doesn't seem like the solution.

And Squall not remembering Ellone has more to do with the GFs than her not being important to him as a sister figure.

Well said. Whats the purpose of a very bizzare pairing? I mean yeah for fun, but why rant at people if they dont agree. Yes some see it as werid because they are viewed as brother and sister, hell Squall even calls her Sis. Just cause they didnt see each other for a decade doesnt mean they dont stop being "brother and sister". Its even more odd if after that amount of time there is a pysical attraction!
 
I don't think it's bizarre. That's the thing. Squall and Selphie be bizarre.

And I'm not ranting....least I don't think I am.

Squall is basically meeting a stranger in Ellone. Why wouldn't he be physically attracted? Again it's not like they're actually related. It's just a very pretty girl he's meeting for the first time since he actually started thinking of women in that way.

And I never said it was because Ellone wasn't important to him that he forgot her. Just that he did forget her.

But hey, everyone is allowed to like what they want. I'm not trying to sound rude or aggressive.

I mean it is true they haven't seen eachother for a good time but during that time apart he's grown closer to Rinoa anyways, right? So even before he started talking to Ellone wasn't he already interested in Rinoa...? I can't exactly rememeber but... I think it sounds about right. Plus Squall hardly had the chance to speak to Ellone ya know?
 
I think its still has to be Squall and Rinoa.

I think Squall had memories of Ellone but i think as he calls her in the start of the movie " Sis". I think it will and always been that way.

Rinoa kinda brings out more feeling in Squall. She is kinda the oppisite as someone else said and that way completes him more..I think anyway..
 
Y'know this seems kind of messed up?

They dont have to be related for this to be wrong I think? I understand the points about there having more to do with each other from an emotional stability POV, but as these guys have said they(Sqaull&Rinoa) complement each other.

Rinoas instills in Sqaull a deeper sense of fun and the much needed acquisition of not taking himself so seriously lol.......and I think Sqaull added to rinoa a sense of Discipline and respect, So they both added to each other having come from different back grounds.

Even though Ellone was separated from Sqaull for a protracted period of time, it has been shown that childhood nature shared can mature along the same path even though the children have been apart.

So even though they may have have been better for each other to rely on they could not grow as much as Rinoa and Sqaull had the potential to do

Raine? Cause a lot of people say there is no blood relation, I think there is. Can anyone clarify the possible mothers for Squall? To be honest I think its Raine cause in the flash back her and Laguna were close and did have a relation. She may not have took him serious then but things could have changed. What about that singer from the hotel? Did Laguna ever go back and make it with her? Its doubtful.

But yeah, if Raine is Ellone and Squalls mother then they are brother and sister. This explains why Squall would ever even call Ellone Sis. Cause they are half brother and half sister.

Yes Raine is Squalls mother, no she isnt Ellones. Ellones was killed by monsters I think, cant recall. The singer was Julia, Rinoas mother. Have you played the game??? Squall called Ellone Sis cause she looked after him in the orphange.

and yes I've played the game but there are a lot of uncertainties. Like
when Kiros tells Squall he looks like his father or whatever. We don't really know who his father is cause its not certain. He could be talking about someone else. Unlikely I know but still. Also I slipped up about Julia but its been a while since I heard the whole General x Julia = Riona. There was always a speculation about it and a lot of the so called answers are theory.
 
Lol, apologies if that seemed abit OTT. Yeah I get what you mean when you havent played a game for a good while, somethings are forgotten about and dont make sense, etc. I just always believed that. Yes there maybe a different theory, but thats the one I stick to XD
 
Incest theory :mokken: Nah I could see Squall and Rinoa or Squall and Quistis and Squall and Selphie(major contrast). But def not Squall and Ellone. That's gross...
 
Squall and Rinoa incest? Lol now I have heard everything, but it is interesting if Julia didn't run off with Rinoa's father and stayed with Laguna that Squall and Rinoa would never be. I like how they tied Rinoa and Squall's parents back stories into the main story.

Squall and Rinoa belonged together. Ellone was more like a sister, they shared a mother, Raine, and he even called her "Sis."
 
According to the story, Ellone's parents were killed by Adel. They wouldn't say that if Raine was her mother. And being siblings would not hinder a relationship, although the game never once hints at anything between Ell and Squee, outside of having a sibling relationship in the orphanage.
